Well, it should. It's great, probably the best of Disney's crop of cartoon-to-live-action films I've seen so far.

If that Zootopia estimate holds, it would be the #8 spot in best 6th weekends ever, two spots ahead of TFA. It opened with less than a third of TFA. What a run.

God, it wasn't until the 10th weekend that Avatar went below $20m. Titanic it was the 11th week. Those were insane runs.

Jungle Book had the second largest Hollywood opening ever in India behind Furious 7, at $7.6M.

The Jungle Book anime was huge in India in the 90s. Was the weekend cartoon on the only channel available for a whole generation of kids.

(And they got some voices from that 90s cartoon for the new movie's Hindi version).

No, just standard Atmos. I can see some scenes will look quite impressive in 3D, from the way they're shot. It's significantly more action packed but still manages to maintain the charm of the original, kudos to Jon Favreau. All the voice actors, from Murray to Walken all nail their roles. And Idris Elba's Shere Khan is one HELL of a villain. Only disappointment is

The third weekend prediction I made a week ago for BvS was off by 400k. I guessed $11M for next weekend at that same time. We'll see how close that ends up being.

BvS might edge out Zootopia one final time next weekend, but the streams will easily cross after that.

It took me about three times counting up the weekends to finally notice the numbering on the side. My caffeine hadn't taken effect yet.

And Titanic also with the most consecutive #1 weekends. It was top of the heap for 15 weeks. That is nuts.
