Just watched the Iger interview, he says there are five movies in active development. So that's
Rogue One
Ep VIII
Han Solo spin off
Ep IX
do we know the fifth film's deal yet?

So a 3.07x multiplier gets it over Avatar domestically.
Ya. I think it will happen. I'm thinking that $800-850M is looking pretty good with some holiday boost.
People forget about the portion of box office coming from repeated viewings.
Obi-Wan spin off I think.
I thought it was an Obi-wan movie.
I recall reading that Titanic had a 20% repeat viewing rate versus the norm of 5%. I'll try and find the article that had those figures.I'd be curious to know an actual percentage on that.
Oh shit, that's been confirmed. Hopefully they'll get McGregor to do it. 2020 then.

I heard rumors that it was a boba fett film.As far as I'm aware of, no it hasn't been confirmed. There have been hints towards it though.
Really curious as to what the weekend to weekend is gonna look like, especially seeing that the Saturday-to-Sunday numbers were more or less flat.

Alvin beating out Sisters.
meh.
Hard to say. The Dark Knight was down 8.5% on Sunday. The Dark Knight Rises was down 10.5%. Their second weekend drops were 10% apart.
Most likely, yes. Here's the articleHow do they even get those numbers? Survey?
The normal repeat viewing rate for a blockbuster theatrical film is about 5%. The repeat rate for Titanic was over 20%.

Isn't it a Boba Fett spin off?
An Obi-Wan spin off is more speculation and fan hopes than anything at this point.
Most likely, yes. Here's the article
decent possibility it's gonna stay north of 55% drop due to the Christmas bump + positive word of mouth?
Yeah, Trank was reported to be working on a Boba Fett film before he walked, I believe.

The Obi-Wan movie is just a rumor, and has never been more than that.

Walked?
Executed?
This 248M OW record .... Nothing will beat this for a very long long time...
I couldn't see any movies stronger

Nice lolShame. You know he probably had a fantastic version of this movie going in pre-production. And it would've received great reviews. We'll probably never see it. That's reality, though.

I'm surprised they aren't going for single character backstory films with Poe, Rey etc.
We'll have a new record within 5 years.
Five Years ago, the opening weekend record was $158M.

I don't know what else is fanboy driven enough to top 248m OW besides another Star Wars movie.
I don't think Infinity War or Justice League gets close to this.
classy
hmmmmmmm
$248m OW in December ain't no joke
All that comes to mind for me is Avengers 3 (which is split in two and might hurt its numbers) and Justice League if BvS kicks ass and gets everyone real fucking hyped.
I can see Civil War coming close if they start putting Spidey all over the marketing, but I'm not sure anything will beat $248m that's currently announced.
Maybe something like Jurassic World that kinda came out of nowhere and blew all expectations out of the water?
