This is the first footage I've seen of The Avengers is all of its CG this bad?
I don't know if I'd call that bad cg, but I feel that scene must have been a nightmare for the animators and visual effects artists to put together.

Yeah, it's fine but I don't think it's on the level of say, Iron Man.
I've never watched a movie with the Hulk in it.if you call that awful cgi what would you call the ang lee hulk?
i dont think iron man is 100% cg in all fairness though
Yeah, it's fine but I don't think it's on the level of say, Iron Man.
Say what now?
Everyone do yourselves a favor and put bob on ignore. Hes on auto troll now.
Iron Man looks completely realistic, I don't get the feeling that I'm watching CGI when I look at him - I do get it while watching the Hulk.Say what now?
Well, they had an extra movie to work on Iron Man. Also I imagine that it's easier to make something mechanical look realistic than something organic.Yeah, it's fine but I don't think it's on the level of say, Iron Man.

I'm sure that's got something to do with it, especially eyes/facial expressions.Well, they had an extra movie to work on Iron Man. Also I imagine that it's easier to make something mechanical look realistic than something organic.

Spiderman is still my wild card. I'm hoping it underperforms.
Not even possible. And miss his meltdown if TDKR under performs?
Underperforms? Why would you want that?
I'm sure that's got something to do with it, especially eyes/facial expressions.

The lighting on the physical characters (especially the woman) doesn't match the environment. I think it looks awful, especially for a movie with such a large budget.
And miss his meltdown if TDKR under performs?

You don't think that has more to do with the fact that Iron Man is something that is practically possible in terms of being "real," i.e.:

Whereas the Hulk is a giant green vaguely human monster? I didn't think the huge alien worms looked "realistic" either...[/QUOTE]
Holy shit that cosplay is amazing! And I usually hate cosplay.
No, I think we'll get there eventually although more practical mechanical stuff definitely seems to be mastered now.You don't think that has more to do with the fact that Iron Man is something that is practically possible in terms of being "real," i.e.:

Because it looks bad.
The rest of The Amazing Spider-Man could be awesome, but I still still forever hate them for turning the menacing lizard into a goddamn goomba.
.
"Not Whedon!!"-Good Job Bob
Evans/Hemsworth/Ruffalo have to be feeling pretty salty about it though.
Avengers, TDKR, and The Hobbit are about the biggest sure things this year.
I'm not so sure about that one.
If you are doubting The Hobbit being a success because of the 48 FPS than you will be hilariously wrong. I think it looks like shit too, but so does 3D, people still gobble that shit up.
I'm a huge Tolkien/Jackson fan, but if The Hobbit looks anything like those clips, I definitely won't be seeing it in theaters.
You realize it will be in 24 fps too, right?
Are 2D showings confirmed to be 24fps?
They have mentioned this several times.
2D in 24 frames per second. 2D in 48 frames per second. 3D in 24 frames per second. 3D in 48 frames per second. IMAX 3D in 24 frames per second. IMAX 3D in 48 frames per second. These are the six different formats that's right, six Peter Jackson's first adaptation of The Hobbit will reportedly be available in when it arrives in cinemas worldwide December 14.
6 different formats? Fucking christ.
And miss his meltdown if TDKR under performs?
I'm a huge Tolkien/Jackson fan, but if The Hobbit looks anything like that second clip, I definitely won't be seeing it in theaters. Also, I'm not convinced that mainstream moviegoers like 3D as much as you claim.
Is... there a better example? These gifs make me feel like I wouldn't loathe seeing it in 48fps as much as I thought.I'm not so sure about that one.
Or a bomba like John Carter.BO threads usually blow up during Summer Blockbuster time, esp when there's a genuine 'blockbuster' in play (see: Avengers)
I look forward to the glorious theater FPS wars.
