I'm torn because Kasdan is writing but this is so trueHan solo has no mentor
Pretty good writeup about this here: https://twitter.com/mudron
This mentor idea by Kasdan has been a thing since the first draft of the ESB script.
Thanks. Edited it in the OP.
Han Solo went without a movie for too long and thus people formed unbreakable personal perspectives about his backstory
This movie's gonna be hard for a lot of folk
Perhaps, but we already had movies that ruined backstories for Darth, Emperor, Yoda, C3P0, R2D2, Chewbacca etc. What's one more?
Certain actors don't belong in Star Wars and Woody Harrelson is one of them. Some others? Sam Jackson and Forest Whitaker.
what type of racist bs is this.
Woody is great. He was pretty good in Edge of Seventeen.
Wow, hope you're joking
I haven't seen Rogue One but Samuel Jackson was a laughable casting choice
I dislike this movie more each time I read about it.
It's been the opposite for me, though I'm not sure about Clarke.I dislike this movie more each time I read about it.
Jedi basically ruined the characterDoes no one remember that LAWRENCE fucking KASDAN wrote this movie? The guy who wrote Han Solo in Empire, Jedi, & Force Awakens?
If there is one single person in the universe who gets Han Solo and who he is outside of Harrison Ford it has been Larry Kasdan. Again and again and again. Why are people suddenly just now questioning his abilities to write who Han is after basically crafting every single element about him post-A New Hope?
Jedi basically ruined the character
That was on Lucas. Kasdan wanted to go in a different direction but was overruled.
His mentor in what? Smuggling?
Kasdan actually wanted Han to have his own plotline in Return of the Jedi that got canned....about his mentor. And after that was a fierce advocate for killing off Han in Jedi.
Didn't Han grow up with chewi on the wookie planet?
That was part of the ESB backstory Kasdan was involved in so it wouldn't surprise me to see that come into play.No.
I do hope they keep his general back story though about having been an Imperial who rescued Chewie.
Didn't Han grow up with chewi on the wookie planet?
Didn't see Rampart. this guy any good?
If I recall correctly Han was a Stormtrooper before he became a smuggler. He saved Chewie's life which made Chewie a life indentured servant because of Wookie rules.
That's how I remember it, and of course non of this is canon anymore.
Han Solo's mentor?
hahahaha
Yeah. I honestly hate the direction nuStar Wars has gone in. These spinoffs are just the worst fanfilm ideas given Disney budgets.
