Thanks to Avid Reading Horse I had a look what it was. How do you get the widescreen display though? I don't like this long column of 52 rows!

It assaulted me with the option last time I loaded it up.

I'm playing on my PC, not a phone, that might make a difference as to whether it offers you the option.

Aha! I had to reduce my browser zoom setting from 100% to 80% and then I could see the widescreen option. Now I have all 8 in a row.

Well my strategy is usually to just play the previous winning word (which is not actually a good strategy, and I've been subbing out words with doubled letters to make it less painful) but I forgot it, so I played the spoilered one.

I think I made an error by chasing one word with too many incorrect guesses. e.g. having *ATCH and putting in WATCH, PATCH, CATCH, HATCH, MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, etc. That used up the precious slots for the other 7.
