World of Warcraft for ALL!!! (sorta)

Got in
Downloaded Client (2.3GB Zip File) + (2.3GB when uncompressed) + (2.95GB when installed)
Did anyone recieve an email cause I didn't

Edit: fileplanet says the beta hasn't started yet?
Edit: Bugmenot extensions are better than the site

I kept trying until it ran out of user name and password combinations, no luck :(

i dunno when i went to the sign up i had to type in my email address + details although i think it said it wud send an email to my gamespy id as well as the email address i gave. Anyway i guess its a bit of a grey area me even talking about this.
 
I resorted to bugmenot to try and get the client, but I got the same message (NA only) :(

I am quite annoyed right now :( :(
 
How did BugMeNot work for you guys? It only logs me in as a normal user, not as a paying subscriber??

Edit - If it didn't work for you, could I have your user and pass?
 
Wow Fileplanet is fast, I thought it was another one of those things that just used bits instead of bytes to make you think it was 8x faster then it was but that was a 2.2gig file in only 2 hours!.

Its official 512kb is the new 56kb. 8hrs in 1557mb d/l
 
Maybe they are working with fileplanet to come up with something different than the bittorent downloader everyone was bitching about. Maybe they will outsource fileplanet to host patches in the futuer?
 
Anyone know if we can toy w/ the char creation screen or anything? That would soooo make the d/l worth it, for me at least.

I hope they at least would throw us that bone. I can't tell cause i'm at work and i wasn't able to install.

Can't believe I just spent $16 on 7 day stress test. Anyway, they are fast. Getting 875 KB/Sec which should take me about 40 minutes. :D

MrPing - I'm not sure how you managed to get that download! I've tried a few accounts from bugmenot - North American accounts - and it still prevents me from downloading. I'm guessing it is checking the origin of IP addresses to see where people are coming from - to ensure NA-only downloads. I don't know how you're getting around that..(i've tried anonymizer services to mask my IP, but it wont let you log in then). Sigh :(

the account i used was from the usa, guess thats all it needed. I can't log into it anymore now though
 
Gofreak, do you still have the user and pass of the one that worked?

I'd really like to be able to join the stress test, and I live in NA, I just can't find a combination that works :(
 
Arggh, I am so unlucky. Tried a couple of US accounts, and it still copped on I wasn't in NA. Maybe they put up extra checks since you started your download.

I got an email right after I signed up for the beta. Not sure if that's the one you are asking about. The title is "Your World of Warcraft Stress Test - Sub Registration Information."
 
Hopefully someone can answer this one...

If you sign up for Fileplaney and get these "Hitpoints"...do you just get a lump of points anually or do you have chances to get points in other ways?

Oh...and as I understand it, the only thing stopping people from playing beta now is no link to the account creation site. What if you had a link to that? Could you use your stress test beta info to start playing today?
 
Also - for those who successfully signed up, when and where did you get the link to download? I signed up in work, which is why I think I was able to get the key (because of the proxies, or whatever), but I ignored everything after that because I wouldn't have been able to download it in work anyway (thinking I could do it at home). God, why couldn't they put the download link in the email...

Anyway, with that ghost surf program, it no longer tells me I'm not in NA, but it does ask me to sign up again. And I don't seem to be able to (it just brings me right back to the signup page when I submit).

edit - it should really recognise that I've signed up, and stop asking me to sign up again :(

edit 2 - god damn it, finally got it to work. HALLELUJAH!
 
hmmph downloaded and installed client, have my authorisation code. My only worry is i didn't get any emails so i may not directly know what the url of the account creation page will b once things start. maybe someone cud help me in that regard if necessary :D
 
I've heard this won't be on the same server as the regular beta and pvp servers. So no rushing in and destroying Goldshire to the dismay of 80000 level 5 humans, it looks like.
 
I figure what the hell. I'm already on the waiting list for the real beta, but they aren't adding anyone right now. If this happens first, at least I'll get to play for a week. :P
 
Damn... I signed up but it said they were out of keys or something and I'm on a waiting list...

Does that mean I won't get int? ;_;

Edit: Actually, it said "the current pool of keys is out", not all keys... maybe I still have a chance! *_*

Looks like it's time to start the "Refresh-my-mailbox-every-5-minutes Game"!
 
I'm also on the waiting list. Can someone please send me a link to where I can download the client in the case I get in? I can't seem to find a link on Fileplanet. Maybe I'm blind.
