3 towers down and 2 cap points would be more fair.... it would mean that people actually defend towers instead of just zerging nodes.

I think a game of territories/domination would be fun with 3 towers. It works in AB, who cares if it's not original?

So, after getting fucking destroyed in the arena tonight, I'm rerolling. Can't stand how shitty Discipline Priests are. I just spam flash heal for 20 seconds until I'm dead. Can't do anything.

Suggestions? I want to heal. I like healing. And I'm much more interested in PVP than PVE.
Holy paladin is the way to go for ease of use. Right now, mana-efficient, tons of defensive cooldowns, dat plate. But paladins are lame though.

Resto shaman is fun. I'm enhance but I've been building up a resto set, only 800 resilience but it's still quite hardy unless a well geared dk looks in my direction (and kiting dk's is hard, their snares seem to ignore ghost wolf). Tossing out shocks (to combine with UE for stronger Riptide hits), hexing, kiting, good fun. Like every healer, though, you hit like a limp noodle.

Go shadow for now. It's difficult to keep up with full damage teams as a sole healer. They really need to buff up some of the stuff for discipline priests in arena.

Well you dont see masterful posts like those just any day of the week. i mean, come on. An entire post that basically says i need to put "imo" behind every thing i post. Or another one that says im the elitist one because i say all the games ive happen to win have been due to sloppy mechanics and no skill on my part whereas the person saying im elitist talks about how their skills are awesome and other servers suck :lol

You lack an important skill called "reading comprehension" because I never said ANY of those things.

It's not my fault the vast majority of people who play this game are idiots.

Yet its me that is the elitist :lol

And you put this stuff in your responses and say im the one thats insulting you? :lol

The two things i said that could be construed as insults are the game designer comment (but thats the gods honest truth how i feel. If a budding game designer thinks Tol Barad is fine, im not looking forward to playing whatever games they come up with) and that i didnt believe you when you said about winning as Offense (i still dont btw). If those two things offend you, im terribly sorry.

Tol Barad is really great, but it needs to be tuned up for victory conditions, I don't think it's near impossible like some say, but there's a large advantage that does stick out.

The design itself of the zone and it's combat is perfectly fine though, big step above Lake Wintergrasp, IMO.

I find myself mostly queueing for Gilneas for PvP stuff. I REALLY like that one. AB with my favorite visual motif in the game and 3 nodes is perfect. The only way they could top this is to do the same kind of gig but with EOTS.

Would I be able to tank regular Grim Batol and Halls of Origination, assuming I'm not a complete idiot? My gear is a mix of quest blues and greens (unenchanted, I'd really like to avoid wasting money on enchants until I get into Heroics). I was DPS all the way to 85 so I don't have any tank gear from previous instances. Here are my stats (in tank gear in Blood Presence):

106,165 HP
2.46% Hit
20 Expertise
11.2 Mastery (69% of DS heal becomes Blood Shield)
26176 Armor (50.10% physical damage reduction)
7.97% Dodge
12.96% Parry

Running the typical Blood tank spec found in the EJ thread with Stoneskin Gargoyle on my axe.

You can get most enchants, at least on my server, really cheap at the moment. Barring the nicer, top skill ones.

It's not a good idea to go into heroics when you're just scraping by or cheating by the cap, especially with no gems and chants. You'll probably just want to bone up on a couple normals and hit the AH and easy rep items before charging in.

You could pull up WoWhead and look at armor by slot for plate, sort it by lvl and gloss over the 333's mostly, see if there's anything you could get cheap or missed in a quest chain, etc, personally that helped me a lot when I wanted to beef up my ilvl before going into heroics.

A bit late but I'll list my current bindings for my destro lock.

I use ESDF for movement in order to use Q, W, A, R, T, G for binds and have easy access to 1-6.

Currently I have three bound bars. They're bound depending on how often I use those skills and how easy the keys are to reach.

1 - Fel Flame
2 - Corruption
3 - Bane of Doom
4 - Demonic Circle: Teleport
5 - Rain of Fire
6 - Nether Ward
Q - Immolate
W - Incinerate
A - Conflagrate
R - Fear
T - Shadowflame
G - Soulburn

Shift + 1 - Utility Slot for Quest items and such
Shift + 2 - Shadowburn
Shift + 3 - Bane of Havoc
Shift + 4 - Summon Demonic Circle
Shift + 5 - Curse of the Elements
Shift + 6 - Demon Soul
Shift + Q - Shadowbolt
Shift + W - Chaos Bolt
Shift + A - Soulfire
Shift + R - Death Coil
Shift + T - Shadowfury
Shift + G - Life Tap

Alt + 1 - Imp
Alt + 2 - Voidwalker
Alt + 3 - Succubus
Alt + 4 - Felhunter
Alt + 5 - Infernal
Alt + 6 -
Alt + Q - Flying Mount
Alt + W - Ground Mount
Alt + A - Trinket
Alt + R - Lifeblood
Alt + T - Rocket Jump
Alt + G - Belt Rocket

Over time (I've used this setup for years) I've developed patterns. For example, slots 1-6 are usually for things that I cast a lot, but I don't have to press repeatedly, and are usually instant. My most important spells go into QWARTG, with Q being what 1 is for most other players. W and A are usually damage spells. R and T are for interrupts, controls, slows and other stuff. And G is typically for anything else left over. This works for most classes but Warlocks have waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many spells. Haven't even bound Drain Life, Drain Soul or Drain Mana, since I don't use them at all. I click my other curses (although CoEx is bound on my afflic spec), as well as Banish.

I recommend the use of Shit + and Alt + binds for your other major spells. A side note, Alt + Q/W/A/1/2/3 are easy to do while Alt + R/T/G/4/5/6 hurt your hand after a while. Shift + Q/W/A/R/T/G are a bit tougher on the hands than Alt + Q/W/A/1/2/3, and Shift + 1/2/3/4/5/6 are only a tad easier than Alt + R/T/G/4/5/6.

Ahaha. Best of luck. Demo has the most difficult (at least in my experience) spell priority of all the specs because of the additional pet micro and metamorphosis binds.

EJ tells me that succubus is the best. and only to use one of the metamorphosis abilities (there are only two, right?)

Yeah there are only two, but I don't think Metamorphosis triggers stance bars (haven't tried it on the default UI)

So, I did more rated BGs today. PvP trinket worked? In arenas, too? Maybe it was a bug the other day when I couldn't use it. How bizarre. Makes PvP infinitely less frustrating!

Pushed a little further ahead with my undead hunter last night. He is now 29 and I am taking it slow, not even using heirlooms because frankly they don't look that good.

I had to abandon and restart a quest over at Silverpine Forest twice because the NPCs that are supposed to escort you kept glitching, either stopping in their tracks or disappearing completely. I thought stuff like that would be sorted out in the betas.

I haven't pushed my main to 85 yet, he is still at 83.6 or something and to be completely honest: Deepholm is not that great. The quests are becoming relatively docile now and there are no proper merchants around there.

I like phasing a lot, but I've never had any issues with it cept for the occasional screwy herb in Twilight Highlands.

Speaking of herbs, I have been on a money making tear this go around, I usually have decent money but nothing crazy, I just try to maintain a decent nest egg. I made some good bucks at the start of WOTLK, but since Cata launched, I've gone from 9k to 80k. Insane.

I made 10k in 2 days selling gems from ore a few weeks ago. I stopped cause I spent time trying to get Destroyer of Worlds and time on an alt.

So many time sinks to choose between.

Fuck I'm even starting a 2nd alt this second.

Surprised this hasn't been posted. But an interview with Alex Afrasiabi gave some new info:
-A new boss is on the horizon in Vash'jir -- animal Gods? Basically a 3rd one of those big ass dudes got fully corrupted.
-A future content patch will see Hyjal fully healed, and new daily quests
-A future patch will introduce boat races for players in Thousand Needles

Hyjal fully healed would make me smile from ear to ear.

What is with my terrible luck doing Heroics? I hit 85 last Tuesday and I've completed a grand total of 3 Heroics. I've been saddled with Tanks who ignore boss mechanics and wipe the group til everyone leaves, terrible, terrible dps I can't kick because its a guild run and I'm the odd man out, and my favorite, 3 tanks who joined a Tolvir run, pulled the second boss then left in the middle of it. In a row.

The problem is LFD and the terrible people who inhabit it. Most good players I know don't even touch it, me I occasionally slum one or we may pick up a spare DPS from it, but it's mostly left alone. It leaves mostly a pool of just terrible players, which is where the complaints are coming from. Bads grouping with bads dying to the action mechanics they're too lazy to dodge or learn.

Best advice is just to find a nice casual guild and rock with them. Easier than ever before to find a nice small scale guild for things like that. I don't know what your situation is, so it's hard to drop advice like that, but it's really the way to go.

Once you gear up a bit, get some experience in and are running with the proper folks, the heroics go down rather smoothly, although the new mechanic types keep it interesting and fun. It's a middle ground I very much appreciate.

Still hate Halls of Origination though. Even skipping most of it, it just drags.

Most of my bad LFD experiences seem to be connected to tanks too. They seem to think that they are allowed to do whatever they want no matter how much they suck. I guess the LFD tool kinda supports this at the moment.

I've been lazy about joining another guild but at this point I really do need to. My current 1 man guild was made so I would have a place to put all the BOE's I found for whatever alts I make, I just don't have any friends who still play that I trust enough to pass the guild to so that I can log on to one of my alts and get it back. But its no big loss if I just drop it, most of it was Burning Crusade level stuff and crafting mats I got while rep farming.

I am embracing win trading now, the BG system is ridiculous. Queues were at 11 minutes and my friend and I had to wait for 25 minutes to get in. We got into strand, 5 seconds later we lost the first round. Lost the next round promptly and got 32 honor. 32 honor in a half hour? Fuck you.

Well after some reforging and some questing/rep grinding I'm up to 119k+ HP and Expertise soft-capped. I guess I can venture into a dungeon and start tanking normals now :lol I'm almost at the required ilvl for Heroics but I think I'll grind out some rep while I learn the ropes in normals. Reading WoWpedia, the fights don't seem too hard to tank. Just don't stand in the fire, etc.
