I thought they were just moving to a vendor which required grinding old content to obtain.

No, the other methods of obtaining it they mentioned have already existed for a while, they intend to make another max level way of getting the gear that is in line with what justice would be now but that isn't justice (obviously). The faire and argent tourney are just the sort of crutches that let them make it less urgent - the gear is still available, but those methods blow hot ass to get it imo so...yeah grind the JP now if you want it.

Heirlooms are supposed to go to a panel like mounts and pets where any toon on the account can use it.

Yeah this was just for the purpose of figuring out what I have now and what I want/need to acquire before Tuesday.

Definitely looking forward to the heirloom tab when it comes out though. If they actually do end up delivering on it lol.

Always skulls all the time :(

I mean sure, but I'm a fan of more offbeat ones like the Firelands set.

Though I do like T7, T8, T10, and CM set.

T16 cyclops is just dumb though.

That set T17 doesn't look horrible, but I don't see myself keeping the look either.

Personally, the Malevolent Gladiator's Desecration is pretty neat looking and a bit different than the whole "skull" motif a lot of the DK sets have.

The heirlooms from the JP vendor have XP bonuses attached and are super strong for their levels, so if you want to play an alt YOU WANT THEM. All of them.

The Garrosh heirlooms will basically be a best in slot weapon your entire way up to 100, it's nice to not have to worry that your power level is going down ever.

Plus...they're going away, that makes them cooler.

Something interesting I was looking at today was that a lot of the new crafted weapons from Professions can actually be used at 91 and already start at an item level of 630.

Granted, it'll take a little bit of time/mats to make those, and they sure as hell won't be available at launch, but they're pretty powerful weapons with two more upgrades waiting in the wings.

(Plus, I think there's some more BoA Archaeology weapons that are 620 and are usable at 91 as well.)

Well shit, time to resub.

It's not like I value my life anyway.

I thought that but until this past week I subbed for 5 months without even playing the game due to getting bored trying to play DPS X_X

I've been camping Haxan on my server for his statue thing, it dropped last night when I was grouped with someone and I lost it. So far killed him 4 times today and no drop. ;_;

Resubbed, not for pre patch, not to prepare for WoD but for the soul reason of soaking up the most immense event of the year: Hallows Eve.

Bring on that oversized Undercity pumpkin for those nostalgic autumnal feels!

I used to love going to Undercity on Hallows Eve, I'm Alliance now though ;-;

There's nothing stopping you going on a Tirisfal Glades jaunt as a servant of Stormwind. Definitely my favourite event, the way the crowd united to watch the lighting of the wicker man for the first time in Tirisfal Glades all those years ago... Ahhh..

Why am I getting kicked out of dungeons with a deserter debuff if I queue for a 5man with a team that just cleared a dungeon?

If you leave a PUG before 10 minutes has passed, you get the debuff regardless. The dungeon probably ended before that 10 minute mark, at which part you are ejected from the PUG part of the PUG and become a normal group of 5 people. I've had this happen before. Blue told me the first time that this happens so little, it's an acceptable side effect of the system.

Oh shit. 6.0 is this week?

Picked a great week to not be working. Lol.
In terms of accessable content, patch 6.0.2: The Iron Tide doesn't offer too much. There's the initial questline in Blasted Lands and the partial revamped Upper Blackrock Spire to do. But of course it's a good way to learn new systems and whatnot. For exploration purposes it's very interesting though, just like the pre-expansion patch prior to Cataclysm was.

Damn it's happened twice today. Such a slowdown on getting an alt leveled if you can't queue for anything for 30 minutes.

The Garrosh heirlooms are going away, but the JP heirlooms are going to be sold for gold.

The Garrosh heirlooms will still be around till launch. As of the patch, they'll be a guarantied drop for any toon who didn't already get a drop for one.

Nope, they changed it. Heirloom vendors are gone in 6.0.2 until (from what I inferred, anyway) the Heirloom tab/whatever system they come out with is in.

I think they said that you could still get some heirlooms (Darkmoon Faire for example), though.

You don't get the deserter if you get the "Dungeon Cleared" popup. Some leveling dungeons are awful at this where you have no idea what boss counts as the last boss when they turned them into winged dungeons.

I think Blizzard really messed WoW up for new players to be honest. Even though I hit 90 I barely know anything about the world. I tried to follow the story doing quests but sometimes I'd get stuck doing a couple of dungeons in a row and come out as if my character was in the hyperbolic time chamber and all the quests have become grey/green.

So I got to 90 without ever doing a Vanilla, BC, WoTLK or Cata raid and now I find myself going through old content with a 90 character to makes sense of things. Barely got a clue of the professions, enchanting, transmorging etc.

Guess it might be time to make a new character and go slow this time.

Yeah I cannot imagine what it would it be like to go through WoW for the first time right now with absolutely 0 guidance. They have kind of taken up the mentality of rushing you through to the latest expansion stuff though, so I think they want you to kind of get to 90 and do all that stuff first and then once you're acquainted with all of the current content you can take the time to go back and explore the vast worlds they have. Kind of a weird approach but understandable I guess, if someone was truly interested in the lore and all that they'd probably have been on the ground floor, and most newcomers would most likely just want to get straight into the new cool stuff.

What the fuck...they are removing the heirlooms entirely? :S
Just the justice point vendors. And they'll be replaced by some new system in the future.

I'm just gonna grab the last few I still need and be done with it. Not sure when Blizz will be bringing them back.

Heirlooms, dungeon exp, dungeon quests being put right in front of the instance, and professions being severely outdated make all those things severely broken.

In vanilla it all made sense despite some zones having almost no quests. Leveling took forever, and dungeon quests were hidden/hard to complete (ZF gong/escort quest down the stairs being buggy as fuck). Heirlooms trivialize any difficulty those dungeons had, and add the exp bonus, you just blow through the content.

Professions were something you had to focus on while leveling because if you didn't have the requirements to pick that plant or mine that ore, you were behind. You had to make an effort which slowed down the leveling process.

Professions need a massive rework.

Got Garrosh down today on 10N

Just started pugging normal raids 3 weeks back, feels good.

263k dps made me feel even better.

Not having done any raiding for all of MoP apart from LFR and Flex, it was good to know that I still got it.

Just the methods to get them, outside of Darkmoon and Argent. They are still in the game, just not easily obtainable.

It's certainly possible if you're willing to go for it.
You'd want to start the quest chain and knock otu all of the first tier, all of tot, and the first half of siege - however much of that it takes to finish the 10 & 10 step of sigils. Then you'd need to do some random stuff, then fight the sha of fear, etc. Basically, you need to get TO the 3000 valor step before tuesday, then next week:
do whatever other intermediary steps there are until you're on Secrets of the Empire (Don't do any raids until you're on that step).
12 bosses in ToT and 8 in SoO that can drop secrets, so this will PROBABLY take you 1.5 weeks. (Always queue the first 2 ToTs first since those can't drop runestones, just in case you finish).
As soon as you have 20 secrets, LEAVE. Go do the steps up until you need Runestones. Get the other bosses done, 12 runestones required, this will also probably take 2 weeks.

Finish quest.

So basically, you're probably looking at needing to get up to 3k valor before tuesday, and then you have a reasonably legit shot at it imo. Just don't waste potential drops by doing raids when you're not on those steps.

The more I think about this in my head, with the gaze of the black prince buff, I'd wager you've got a 75% chance or so of finishing. Maybe higher.

Wait you can keep earning valor for the quest despite being capped?

Are there any people who would be down to go for a CM silver or gold run later today or tomorrow? I got back about a month ago and I was trying to get the gold together to just buy a run, but I ended up coming short. So since like Wednesday I rushed to get gear to try the runs myself. RNG was on my side and I've ended up with a 21 gems CM set that is pretty good as far as I can tell.
I've been trying Open Raid, but haven't had any luck getting a party.I think that since I don't have any kind of history on there people are ignoring me for invites. That or people feel I don't fit the raid comp, but its my hunter I can bring like 90% of the buffs or debuffs the group would need.

Im confused. So how do the new lockouts work? Are Normal and Heroic separate now? And Normal/Heroic have similar boss mechanics just with a bigger health pool?

To add on that: Normal and Heroic now uses the LFR style loot based lockout system, which means you can defeat bosses multiple times if you choose to, but you get only one loot chance per lockout, I believe multiple coin rolls are still possible tho.

What's the point of that, in terms of a casual raider stand-point? Is it to allow guilds to practice fights?

That's an option. The leader can still choose to have the normal loot system.

The Valor step is entirely being removed on tuesday
so you can do the sigils this week, get up to secrets before running lfr next week, and start LFR next week on the secrets step. Gives you like 4 lockouts to do secrets and runestones (And do all the other intermediate steps that aren't dependent on lfr). It's a LOT to do, but you definitely can make it.

That doesn't sound right. The raid leader can choose between personal loot and dropped loot? That's gotta be wrong, I've never heard of that before.

Everything except mythic now works like flex does, you can kill the bosses as many times as you like, but you only get loot on the first kill, just like Flex does right now in 5.4

Mythic still drops gear on the actual bosses body, and tier tokens roll stats like timeless isle gear/Diablo gear does.
