Figured out my problem with leveling alts now. End-game's fun. Starting zone is fun.

I'm sure it's partially rose tinted glasses, but I notice is heavily in the starting zones .... Everything, quest-wise, after 60 is too similar. All the quests are the same. All the stories are the same. It's like they use 'find and replace' and replace Orc NPC with Human NPC.

There's a couple that aren't, but I just... there's too many neutral factions. That is my biggest complaint. There's FAR too many neutral faction quest hubs. That coupled with the Pandaren being able to choose sides makes me feel like half of WoW's dev team doesn't care that there are different factions and doesn't want to differentiate them and the other half doesn't and just wants to stick them all in a stew together. Cataclysm tried to up the faction hatred lore-wise, but Pandaria threw all that out the window outside of a starting quest line with Nazgrim and whatever that other guy was

Sunwell Launch -> Wrath retail was longer, I think.

March 25 2008 - Sunwell Release
October 14 2008 - 3.02 (Wrath Content Patch with Achievements, Scourge Invasion, and more)
November 13 2008 - Wrath Release

Something like 8 and a half months or so between Wrath release and Sunwell, though 3.02 did add a lot on its own the month prior.

Speaking of Pandaria rares, I got that cool BoA staff with the model that's otherwise unique to monks the other day - the one you pick up in that glade of the hidden master in the Valley of the Four Winds.

Also got this Lilypad that gives you the Symbiosis ability for your class in Pandaria. Which would be cool, except the DPS DK one is shit: Wild Mushroom: Plague. Just not very useful at all, especially just out in the world - it's an AoE DPS CD.

Warlocks got a rejuvination on a 10s cooldown. Sooo helpful.

Are Orcs going to randomly start showing up a few months before WoD is out?

Well the Mists pre-patch event was just the Theramore's Fall scenario at 85, rather than a world event, but the Cata pre-patch was pretty cool with the Twilight Cultist stuff. There will probably be something - hopefully more than just another scenario again since Blizz seems to love those now.

Hunters get Dash. Gee thanks! I'd rather have a HoT.

It's not like I do anything with a hot since I got self heals out of the ass. The only thing I've found it somewhat useful is soloing zandalari warbringers, but even that's iffy since SL/SL with the occasional funnel will do just fine.

It's pretty awesome for Prot.
You basically get another oh shit button in the form of Savage Defense. So I'm blocking and dodging mobs for eternity

Blizzard has said the pre-expansion event will be going to Draenor to close the Dark Portal preventing an orc invansion into Azeroth.

On the Horde I get to punt kick goblins and beat up drunks Orcs to go to Twilight Highlands. On the dwarf, I'm escorting a little nancy boy prince.

Why can't I be doing dwarf things

ANDUIN YOU LITTLE FUCKER IF YOU DISAPPEAR ON ME ONE MORE TIME

Bringing my Ally to WoD is seeming more likely than bringing my Horde at this point.

Orcs used to be my favorite race of all the Warcraft races, but they have run them into the absolute ground. And I already see enough fucking Trolls as it is, you want me to see EVEN more? The only thing that makes me not want to do it is that I think Draenei are the worse races ever created, and I guess Alliance plot is going to focus on that.

Why not gnomes? Dwarves had the best lore in WOTLK and nothing since then has even come close. Especially not Orc Jesus. Thrall might be one of the biggest shifts in how I felt about a character in all of games. From loving him to just groaning whenever he shows up to use his Power Rangers powers.

So are we looking at another long stretch of no new content until the expansion?

How long was the Cataclysm drought, anyway? Like 9 months?
Almost that, yeah. SoO is basically it for Pandaria I think.

Honestly, I can see letting my sub lapse in a month or two. Not much left for me to do.

Will resub the second WoD is out, though. Hopefully it's out by early summer.

Yeah, I think they said SoO is the last Raid for Pandaria.

And it's pretty doubtful they're gonna toss another patch in before the expansion...so it'll probably be around for a while.

But yeah, I may let mine lapse or something here soon.

Got a lot of games and other stuff to catch up on. lol

Can't decide on next 'project.' Goblin Rogue or Goblin Enhancement Shaman

Do you have Brawler's Razor Claws? If so, do Enhancement. They are so goddamned good. Put Elemental Force on those fuckers and Windfury the shit out of things.

I got my Vial of the Sands recipe in 8 Tol'vir solves, and in my first Canopic Urn, on a toon who hadn't even trained Archaeology until yesterday. I had friends who farmed the shit out of that thing for weeks and didn't get it back in Cataclysm. Spent the rest of the evening working on the mats, and now my druid has a dragon form. :D

I think rares in Pandaria are mostly poorly designed. Like the way that they just randomly do abilities that kill you despite all their moves not doing much then suddenly instant death. It's just really out of place and feels incredibly cheap.

They're better than the maces?

Finally started doing LFR stuff today, did the 3 that drop the sigils for the weird faced prince guy. Got 4 wisdom and 5 power.

All the gear was bleh because of timeless isle stuff. Did get a epic weapon though, a really ugly gun from the water sprite boss. So that's helpful.

Initial observation, Destruction Warlocks seem to do a lot of damage. Maybe just a coincidence, but in almost all of the instances, their was a Destro lock miles ahead of everyone else.

That literally means you are fighting them wrong. All of their abilities are avoidable.

Destro Locks have insane DPS because they're one of the best if not the best scaling class/spec for mass AoE. The more mobs the better. You can drop multiple Rain of Fires (no channel time), which with more mobs will proc more embers, meaning you won't run out while you're casting all your other spells that cleave onto everything for 35% normal damage. That includes mass AoE Immolates, which increases Rain of Fire damage.

In situations where there's something like 3 or 4 mobs, they're not nearly as good.

Destro locks are just good all around. Though we do scale hilariously with large aoe packs. I hit 1.5 million dps aoeing at one point.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
The maces are slower (which means higher weapon damage), but the claws have Hit on them which is more useful for running in dungeons.

Also the claws are awesome and if you are an enhance shaman it is your duty and birthright to use awesome fist weapons.

Fuck I forgot how awful people were in ToT LFR.

I've been trying to gear up my paladin since my raid group is having a month long break, but it's going slowly. All the good and capable players are done with their legendary quests and gearing up in LFR. I don't have the patience for it usually, it's just such a pain in the ass. I can rarely be bothered to take control and tell people the tactics either. I remember shaking my head at someone in this thread that felt LFR needed to be nerfed. There was no need to back then, but it is sorely needed now imo.

LFR should have been 10 man version with 1 tank, 3 healers, 6 DPS. At least then you're less likely to have fuck ups with less people running around. The big thing though is if you're a tank and not geared or have only read about the fights, you still have to communicate with the other tank.

It's the only position in the raid that is forced to talk to one another when everyone else can just stare at guild chat and ignore the stupid.

Well luckily you can skip ToT completely and just go straight to SoO LFR. There's something about ToT that makes people just go coo-coo.

I feel like I need to blame flex. Ever since that was introduced, it seems like the better players who used to balance out LFR a bit more now just flex and you're really left with 1) people no one really wants to raid with because they're asshole or 2) people who don't raid enough or are good enough to get invited to anything else. At least if you don't get in right away on the resets. Tuesdays and even Wednesdays seem okay but after that... ouch.

By the way, by blaming flex, I'm not saying it's bad. I think it's just had an unintended consequence.
