World of Warcraft |OT6| This wolf still has teeth

I really don't understand why so many people are paying for a dumb ugly heirloom? Especially if you already have a normal version.
Well why not? 5-10k is peanuts and it's a good weapon. Though I didn't already have the normal version on the toon I bought it on.

As for it being ugly, that's what transmog is for =D

It's basically BiS for levelling as no weapon will be better than it until max level. Levelling with some transmog is the best thing about heirlooms though :p

Yes but it's not THAT much better than any quest/dungeon weapon and won't make you level twice faster or something.
I mean it's nice to have one, surely, but it's not really necessary by any mean. I don't have anyhting against paying for it if someone really wants it of course, it's just that my server chat is filled with people asking for it like it will change their lives or something.

Though I agree I'll probably be happy to have mine once I hit max level, getting good weapon then is always a pain.

I think a lot of that urgency is because they'll be gone in a week.

Oh my god please switch the subtitle to "It's actually Diablo 4". At least sometime down the road when the raids open.

Gear gonna be cray.
That's a good tagline, I'll see to changing it when the raids open (2,5 weeks after launch). As OT5 was quickly coming to a halt, I picked the first best tagline I could think of, but I agree it's not very catchy or inventive.

Paying because people in WoW are so anal about ilvl's. Trying to get into raid's that are looking for 530+ geared characters and keep on getting denied over and over again (i527). My 2h axe is dragging my ilvl down so much (i46sixty something) and the 2h's in LFR never drop for me. WoD is getting close and people just don't want to miss out on that loom, I just need it to get into other raids.

True, it's probably a big part of the appeal right now.

I have two maces (one heroic), an axe, and a sword. I guess I can use that for any class I have so maybe that's why I don't feel the urgency :p
Maybe I'd want it enough to pay for one if I didn't have any, idk.

I would have like to have a staff or a shield but oh well. I've killed Garrosh less than 8-10 times so I won't complain.

My real problem right now is deciding which class to level first :(
Always did it with Discipline Priest first so far and it's kinda slow even if I like it.

I like the current one ;(
It's fitting for both WoD and the strength of WoW as a whole :p

Should just grind out hp for the PvP weapon. Easy 550 gear.

I'm also undecided about what to level first. I always level my rogue first, thinking about doing my ret pally first four WoD though.

e: I got rejected from a guild because I didn't have an addon like weakauras or tellmewhen to track procs. Since snapshotting is gone, I didn't really think it's necessary anymore, coupled with the random PPM rate on everything not lining up anymore, it's so pointless.

Of course I used to track them, and when I would get 4 procs + dark soul + badge of dominance, it was most damage in the world and then I spread the dots to every one in range.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills though. Am I wrong in thinking this? What the fuck is a warlock supposed to do when shit procs? It's not like re-applying dots is necessary, and procs are so uneven that it's pointless to save big damage dumps except for on-use cooldowns.

For aff, outside of Haunt and Soulburn: Haunt pretty much nothing. Demo for molten core procs, and destro, chaos bolts.

You are right, its pointless to delay, but you can set up for it still.

Thinking about going back to Alliance for a big change this expansion. Only thing I'm worried about is the extreme population unbalance and the fact that most of WoD we will be stuck without flying mounts, making it easy to get camped. (26% ally, 74% horde on Bleeding Hollow)

Overall the population balance on most realms is a complete joke, it's a shame Blizzard doesn't seem to care much.

But besides the opener, your procs never line up anymore and go off all at once. It's not that hard to see the one or two max procs you may get in WoD and time that with your 2 minute cooldowns. (Which is always a lot more damage than the procs most of the time anyway)

I haven't raided since WotLK seriously, and I was trying to get back into it for WoD again. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't like so out of the loop that it was like learning everything over again.

The guild also wanted like, serious SoO parses from 6.0. Another dumb pointless thing. Heroic, hell Mythic, is easier than LFR was pre-6.0. All the raid mechanics are trivialized. It shows nothing other than you know the rotation, and you can do that on a target dummy.

Yeah, both of those things seem like out of date requirements to me. Weird.

Been checking out some different gear. Also visited Naxx (10) for the first time since vanilla which was pretty interesting (and easy).

Lookin' good brehs (or sistehs).

Ya, that shit is hilarious. Siegecrafter mythic died in 29s last week on warcraftlogs.

I have parses where im out dpsing 580+ ilvl people in 560 gear though. Haha. It's nice to have those, but its pointless.

I have like 100 scarlet tabards lol..
Jealous. I have one, but it's on an older character I don't play anymore.

WTB Tabard Tab!

I've GOT IT! Heroic YES! (Decapitator)

Some one please give me advice on what gems to put in it, and how to enchant it.
Most likely dancing steel for the enchant if you aren't a DK. Gems depends on your spec and class (not sure, haven't played melee in a while).

edit: oh, how to enchant it? You can just search dancing steel on the AH and buy one.

Alliance leaders just aren't characters like the Horde leaders are. Varian actually has something to him even if it's just a huge hateboner for Orcs. Everyone else is just sorta...there.

I'm not counting Jaina since she's not in charge of a capital.

Velen looks like he has some cool shit going on in WoD but I guess that's alternate universe Velen and not the dude in Exodar?

Alliance use to have a lot of cool heroes but Blizzard pretty much made all of them neutral (Malfurion and Khadgar, all of Dalaran, Turyalon and Alleria go missing and probably more...) .

If they bring Illidan back, he could definitely be a Sylvanas analog for Alliance.

Playing as a ret paladin and will search that dancing steel.

How would Illidan ever be allowed back into the Alliance?

Besides the fact that he's a jealous selfish dick, he's super dead.

They are going for 2.7k lol and I just gave my 5k savings to the bloke that boosted me.

Gold is incredibly easy to make. Queue as prot and do heroics and need on all greens/blues. You'll make 1k in about an hour.

Can also do something like a quick run through black temple. easy way to make 800-1000 gold in little time usually from all the loot. Cloth still pretty valuable too

True, vanilla to tbc raids will make you a good amount, just that you can only do once a week.

I'm still conflicted as to whether or not I go with the digital or physical CE.

I have to say, this is the most excited I've been with the game since WotLK. Really looking forward to WoD. I've actually read very little about it apart from general overviews. I hope its meaty.

With a huge grain of salt. Metzen did say a long time ago that he wanted to bring Illidan back.

From WoW Wiki

"
During the Blizzcon 2010 World of Warcraft Quest and Lore Q&A panel, Chris Metzen was asked about the possibility of Illidan being revived or redeemed, and Metzen replied that it was something he would really like to do and that he is a sucker for a good redemption story.[12]

At the Blizzcon 2011 World of Warcraft Open Q&A panel, Metzen was again asked about reviving Illidan. He asked the crowd if it was something they would like to see, the crowd exploded and cheered in response, and he said they would work on it.[13] He later revisited the topic during the World of Warcraft Lore Q&A panel, after being asked about the dead bodies of important villains. Metzen indicated that based on fan reaction they would most likely bring Illidan back, and would have to decide on a way to revive him, noting that his corpse would be very significant.[13]"

So with this new expansion coming out soon, I'm looking to possibly start playing again. The thing is though that I hav'nt even played any of the previous expansions content even though I own it.
I currently have an 85 Resto spec/geared Shaman and an 80 Mage which was boosted. I have not played the game in years and I feel lost on what I should do.
I don't feel confident Healing any dungeons right now being that It's been so long. I don't have any other gear for my Shaman.
What would you do, where would you go from here? Should I bother playing any of the MoP content? Should I just boost my main to 90 with the purchase of WoD? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Also which Server are most you guys playing on? Do you guys play together?

I honestly didn't even know there was a physical box.

I take this as confirmation that we're not dealing with Alternative Universe crap, and that this really is just a timeline split from the moment Garrosh arrived. If one of the Lore Specialists/Writers on WoD thinks so, that must be (I hope) the way the entire creative team is operating.

From Twitter:

Lore
Do you have anything to say to someone like me who thinks the story and lore in AU draenor is lessened by the fact that it is AU?
It's also just a super interesting and epic setting that adds a lot of history and clarity to Outland, orcs and draenei. (_DonAdams)
For all we know our Arakkoa could have a completely different history then the ones on AU draenor, for example.
My understanding is that the histories are the same up to the point where Garrosh arrives and begins mucking things up. (_DonAdams)
They're not the same until then. Characters like Rulkan (who was long dead 35 years ago in our timeline) are alive on AU Draenor.
I would say Rulkan is an exception, not the rule. (_DonAdams)
So if you folks wanted to expand on the stories of say the Arakkoa then you should've made a timeline split when Garrosh arrived.
It did split when Garrosh arrived. He's been there for at least several months before they open the portal to Azeroth. (_DonAdams)
As for arakkoa, I wrote the WoD arakkoa lore and took care not to retcon. This is what they were before the first horde. (_DonAdams)

Potion of treasure finding, grind the fuck out of Grim Batol. About 2k an hour from vendoring and auctioning the cloth. If you have the patience to auction other things, maybe more. The blue BoEs go for basically vendor price on the AH because of how popular a farm GB is.

Names are only locked on each realm. Someone else on a different realm can use the same name.

You mean people on other servers...? And your char will delist from armory if you haven't been active in a while. Resub and it will come back.

Pick a class, read a guide or the forums, jump into heroics to get a feel again. Don't worry about "feeling afraid" and all that nonsense. No one cares. Just get back on the bike and start pedaling. For quick gearing up, go to Timeless Isle. I wrote a quick off the dome guide for new 90s in 6.0 in the old OT which I'm too lazy to get lol.

Also, we're all too attached to our guilds/friends so there's no dedicated gaf guild.

fuck me.. meant to edit and not double post, DEAL WIT IT

Will the boost to 90 still be available when WoD is released or is it for pre orders only? Thinking about getting back in, havent played since Cataclysm, and I dont want to waste a bunch of time leveling up again all the way to 90. Ill probably roll a one guy just to get the hang of things again and then use my 90 once ive got a grasp on all the mechanics again. Been playing FFXIV but im going to take a break and wait till the Drak Knight expansion comes out.

You could use your 90 boost on a new character. They get gear and are dumped into a questline made for "teaching" how to play one step at a time. It might make your return a bit easier to get into. Then get back to your other characters and decide?

Otherwise MoP content/questing could be great to take your marks but you'll likely be overwhelmed by what there is to do...just know that currently 85-90 is very fast, especially with rested xp, so you'll just have to decide if you're up to skipping leveling or not.

Also you can probably heal dungeon rather easily at the moment even if you don't know what you're doing.

Edit: Boost is here to stay no matter when you buy
