World of Warcraft |OT7| Feel the hatred of 10,000 Murlocs

Frost mage and Balance druid artifact quests being busted really sucks. I had to do the starting quest for Legion so many times due to the rollbacks the other night, and now from remaking characters that I think I am just going to sit on them for a bit and wait for a fix.

Is it pretty much any artifact quest that has you go to
Deadwind Pass
is broken?


Oh and the Druid class area is just amazing looking.
 
This dungeon scaling stuff is kinda bizarre. Doing the four initial dungeons as a Blood DK at level 100 felt pretty good - Perhaps a little on the easy side, but I would probably have died with a weaker healer.

Level 101 now, and I don't even need a healer for anything other than danger-zones I linger in too long/by accident.
 
Stupid question that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to but I want to ask any way. Will those new, updated models for the Druid forms like bear, cat, and moonkin be available to new characters at level one? I'm not talking about the forms tied to artifacts but the base models that everyone has.

Well you already know the answer as you said, as it would be pretty stupid of Blizzard to keep those updated models to high lvls only.

finally got around to playing my priest who was just a gold mission alt since the first month of the expansion.

I was only level 655 with all baleful gear and was disc priest. Damn was my healing low. I know the rotations and how to heal and what to use when and where, but damage output is so high in mythic dungeons it was horrible. But i really wanted that heroic piece of gear.

It took a long time and a couple groups went well but the other groups had tanks that were like 720-730 and thought they could pull without discretion because they were billy badass. Even when i told em look at my ilvl and take it slow. UBRS was a 5-6-7 wipefest.

But somehow i got through it with barely any upgrades. Like in the 4 mythic dungeons i only got 3 peices of gear.

anyways i was praying that the heroic piece was worth it after all that.



Heroic Warforged headpeice from archimonde. disc priests BIS i assume. i was so happy. I never play alts but since i only raid for 1 hour a week now to kill archimonde/blackhand mythic, i wanted to get the ring on a couple alts.

my only goals for my priest and mage alt is to get the legendary ring and get the archimonde transmog. So its going well so far.

I just keep thinking that they are tied to Legion content only, lol. I needed confirmation from someone to get the idea out of my head.

That would be kind of weird.

You hit level 101 and suddenly your graphic fidelity goes up. =p

Which is...actually kind of what happens with demon hunters. If you enable "use old character models" demon hunters are exempt. I don't know if they're going to ever rig the old models to the new animation rig, but for now if you have that option turned on you can see really HD night elves standing next to 2003 Night Elves.
 
General rule is that any graphic updates, game system changes, etc are included in the base game and not the new expansion.

Even if you don't buy Legion you can mess with the new transmog storage system

Demon Hunters may be an exception because of their special stuff (tats, horns, etc) might not be made to fit on the old models

If a spell isn't listed as Shadow only, then you will keep it when you spec Holy. Your key damaging spells are Holy Fire, Shadow Word: Pain, Smite. When you get Chakra you will get one that allows you to do more damage, and for questing at low levels, it can be just as effective as Shadow spec since it is more direct damage oriented and the mobs don't live long. At higher levels the scaling changes and you'll want to be spec'd DPS, but queueing for random dungeons, you'll get in very quickly as a healer.

My only goal for mythic dungeons is getting my last loom. I'm 4/5 right now and I've been running with my highest geared because the mechanics of loom drops are weird. It will only show as a drop if I don't have it, so I have the same chance on any toon for the last one.

Well the only reason I even started to think it is because people in chat were talking about how the new base models only "activate" in Legion content. It didn't make sense but I kept thinking about it.

I should just stop reading chat altogether, haha.

I mean Moonkin will be available to everyone. But the new bear/cat forms are tied to the artifact
 
Looks like the free game with movie ticket promo really is an "as supplies last" handout, which is completely idiotic in this day and age where they can generate those things easily and individually when people buy the ticket digitally. Wonder how many they'll even send out to each theater (probably a stack of a couple hundred which won't even cover one showing and will get stolen and resold by the employees anyway). Dumb.

I'm sure they aren't expecting a huge return on it. Just think about the numbers - how many people in your typical Warcraft movie showing 1) play video games, 2) play video games on PCs, 3) are willing to pay a monthly subscription for a PC game, 4) want to play an MMO, and 5) don't already have the game?

Have to imagine that number is pretty small.

Well to be honest, the promo surprises me entirely, for all those reasons and more. But if they were going to do it, they should at least do it *right* and make it so that if you go buy a ticket on Fandango, it gives you a code to use (other games have done this, for instance Payday 2 with John Wick). Not print out a bunch of easily lost and stolen flyers like it's still 2005.

i imagine it has less to do with stock and everything to do with measuring the impact based on predictable numbers and whether or not that promotion performs as they want it to.

there are still economics and metrics involved even if the key costs "nothing" (which isnt true, they probably associate the base value on battlenet to each key regardless of its ability to be easily duped)

I did 7/8 with guildies, bought a UBRS boost from a friends guild so I could do the last guild run with my DK (but ended up doing it with my Warrior anyway).

They beat the UBRS timer with almost ten minutes spare. CMs are laughably easy with the right class comp. Even we beat them all with 2-3 minutes spare (at least) with a terrible setup.
 
I did the carry with some of the best CM people in Europe (guys from Ninjapartio guild on Darksorrow). I think they are a top 50 world PVE guild.

During my second carry where I played my gf's character there were two people being carried in the group.

Guild I did it with was top 60 (DarkStorm). I reckon they could've easily boosted 2 (although I did contribute a decent chunk of damage).
 
Another mythic cache, another waste of time (Kilrogg boots)... Seriously, I've never got a single thing from a cache apart from an OS heroic cloak.

I was EXTREMELY lucky in highmaul and brf but got ass in hfc

First week of highmaul- mythic margok trinket

First 2 weeks of brf consecutively - mythic warforged darmacs and mythic warforged blackhand trinket

Fucking nuts, I was the most geared Mage and player until months after progress for both tiers

Luck ran out though, have never gotten anything good out of hfc caches
 
Well, I guess I'm the only one... (I know I'm not). At least I'm slowly but surely putting together the pink Highmaul Mythic transmog set through the cache.

Anyone else unable to log onto the beta?
 
It's a lil' bit funny (all elton john jokes aside) that I've never been invited to a beta even though I've been playing since early vanilla with some crazy computer set-ups from an ok average in Vanilla (don't remember) to 5 fps in Karazhan before updating.

I've had more hiatuses than average but I've been there for every expansion even though honestly I've never been there for the whole expansion but I've still scored all of the legendaries for my hunter (ok, rhok'delar it's not a legendary but I still did it while the content was relevant) to the cape and the ring.

I play in the EU so the token price is ridiculous and even though I can make the gold (~90k gold) I currently choose not to because of backlog and WoD not being a good expansion so again I'm not playing but trying to keep up to date via gaf.

Here comes the question though. I've been playing a hunter as main since EU release but have a bunch of alts.

Have any of you guys played hunter during the beta and is at least ok in contradiction to all the hate posts on mmo-champ?

I really appreciate Bendaks (blizzard watch and eyesofthebeast.com) feedback but he doesn't write a lot these days but I'm definitely leaning towards either MM (the spec I played in raids this expansion with lone wolf) or BM (it's been around since that infamous macro in BC and has to this day been used to at least level up my toon)

I live in Sweden and speak both Finnish and Swedish fluently and have a basic knowledge of Norwegian so I get the gist of it and the review is good enough (thanks for that) to warrant your reaction but did you google translate it or do you know norwegian good enough? Don't want to shit on your parade as I kinda agree and the review is positive but what makes you say it's "really" positive?

Again, no shots fired, I'm rooting for this one but just out of curiosity :)

Very first Batman vs Superman reviews were positive too... we'll see. I'm hopeful but I certainly won't be there opening night. Especially since getting the free game promo stuff is a complete crapshoot.

Edit: just read a google translation of that page... yeah it's not that resoundingly positive to me, it comes across basically as "good for a genre film" and movies like that rarely review well in the US. But we'll see.

It's huge though, which is nice. It and the shield make a very distinct pair. And the staff is pretty nice too. But everyone is complaining about how generic the axe is. I feel like they only made the axe so that both sides got two items.

Just went back to OT1 (957 pages, wow!)
I wish I had gotten into WoW back then. The community seemed really interesting. I was 14 at the time, and it was too "un-cool" to play MMO's so I didn't get into it. :/

Anyways, does anyone have screenshots from the Stormwind park pre-cata? I started in Cata, so I've never seen it.
