The last few haven't been. Mists was seamless when they flipped the switch at midnight (at least in the US). Jumped right in with no problems.
Kinda worried about the US servers tonight now.

On the bright side, Body and Soul talent (speed boost when shielded) now last between 30sec and 1min, that's glorious.
It's right down the street from me, but I don't really feel like trying to squeeze into the courtyard area of the Spectrum to get an autograph a week after Blizzcon.
They may run out of wristbands by 8 PM, but I'd say it's worth a try, the dev team is really nice to talk to.

Im not surprised.
Well I wouldn't expect the entire WoW pop to log in at once even for the expansion, but the idea is they have a beefier infrastructure to handle a larger subscription base. So having infrastructure in place to handle population spikes when your user base is at 12 million should prepare you better for the same spikes with a lower population, because the spikes should be smaller.
I guess the Iron Hide is hype.

MoP als had a rocky start in EU when it launched. My C.E is coming tomorrow during the day and by that time the huge flux will be clear and i can play normal.

Now I remember why I swore I'd never even attempt to log in on a launch night again. Queue to open battle.net, then fight the login servers, if you get past that then queue for *checks* two hours or so while hoping you don't get disconnected, then when you do get online, pray the servers don't crap out and send you right back to the beginning.
I don't remember Wrath being particularly bad.

Yes i was in-game also it went a bit more flawless but holy damn my whole server was on the flying ship towards Pandaria i logged out and went back the other day it was pretty messy because i couldn't talk to any of the quest npc's.
have fun everyone. still feels weird to not feel like playing a wow xpac at launch, but I really dont, and Im not going to force it and very likely not enjoy it just because im "supposed" to play at launch. maybe in a few weeks, after im done with Inquisition and shit, when I dont have other stuff I really want to play right now, and I can actually play it focused.

MoP/Cata/Wrath all had multiple ways to start the expansion content, rather than funnelling entire servers through a single zone.
agreed. level of interest is way higher among returning players for WoD.
