I contemplated continuing with the Abyss Crystals, but you have to seriously babysit the market for it to really work. I work from home, so I was able to keep WoW open in the background and check-in every ~15 minutes or so.

That, plus the fact that cornering the market SERIOUSLY stressed me out, led me to the decision that it was probably time for me to take my profit and walk away, for a while :lol It's just like at a casino - you can't come out a winner unless you stop playing, at some point.

Re: Cloth - Cornering the market only works for specific items. Stuff that a lot of people will need, more or less. Elementals, enchanting materials, etc. So Spider Silk Cloth might not be the best idea, since it's only useful to tailors. I did Abyss Crystals because EVERYONE needs them, if they want any high-end enchants on their gear. It's not an item they can just go out and farm. If they don't have any in the bank, AH is their only option.

That, plus Abyss Crystals (and all other enchanting mats) have NO AH deposit. So you can list and re-list as much as you want.
It was a lot more fun when I was selling Eternal Belt Buckles for 650g, those level 73 crafting shields for 300g, etc.

Right when Wrath came out, people just got fucking stupid :lol

I had gotten Enchanting to 450 on my druid AND made several thousand before they fixed the Reinforced Cobalt trick

it's a shame as the AH is kind of another game on itself.

Any good blog/web about the AH?

I am already tired of losing money with it :( (Even thougth I meade at least 100g in the last 2 days thanks to inscription, the hunter glyphs selling for 40g is totaly stupid)

My guild is fairly casual so we had to cut out OS and EoE to do Ulduar (we got on Yogg last week but have had attendance problems due to finals and mothers day) so I've started pugging it for misc pieces and badges.

Jesus Christ the pugs on my server are AWFUL. Tonight was the worst though! There was some well known fail guild hosting it, but you kinda just gotta grit your teeth and bear it because in my case I wont have time to try again.

Damn Paladin tank lost threat on EVERYTHING in the instance. The Mage friend I took in with me reminded of me of the shit I had to do in vanilla WoW as a SM/Ruin lock with aggro. Wand breaks, ignoring 4 PC T8 procs, etc and STILL pulled aggro after invising then gettign a salv after that invis. Almost all of the DPS was completely hot on the MT's ass on Omen the entire fight.

They were such ANGRY people too, they threatened to kick out "bad DPS who kept pulling aggro". Hell, I pulled fucking healing aggro on trash like three times as DISCIPLINE.

Right when Wrath came out, people just got fucking stupid

100g stacks of frostweave <3

Pick-up Group. Basically got together via LFG and won't be very coordinated.

As opposed to doing it with your guild/friends where everyone knows what they're doing.

It stands for "pick-up groups" - where you pick up random people to form your party (as opposed to people you know and have played with before) to go off and do something like an instance. With a game as large as WoW, it's pretty much a roll of the dice when you do a random PuG.

I focus on the strangest shit, sometimes. Spent several hours tracking down misc. tailor, alchemy, and cooking recipes I didn't have. Flew all over the world, AND spent a ton of G at the AH. Still missing a ton too, but I'm gonna keep at it :lol :lol I bought a couple of the Northrend world drop Lumberjack shirts for ~100G a pop, and a BUNCH of old world cooking/alch/tailor recipes for 5-50G, depending on how rare it was.

I even bought the mats to craft ~200 elixirs in the hope of discovering the couple remaining BC flasks I'd never discovered:lol Only discovered one new one, though.

I think I'm gonna have to start running Ony every week, too. A bunch of the old-world endgame alchemy transmutes only drop off her...

Edit: When that's done, I'll probably start doing the same for mounts/non-combat pets. I'm crazy :(

Edit2: Diving deep into tailoring, it's crazy how much badass stuff is hidden in the old world. Admiral's Hat being probably the most obvious example:

White Bandit Mask is another ace one I came across:

I feel like playing around with this

I have x-perl so far
I use NeedToKnow to time the duration left on SnD, Rupture, DP, HFB (I'm still Mut). It's also good to have some sort of mod to show your combo points in a visible place. I have a very modified UI though, and I have no idea which one I use for the combo points.

They're in the game. They might drop off the dragons... not sure. I've mainly been focusing on the easier-to-get recipes I'm missing. I'll deal with the shittier ones later. :lol

What does Glyph of Living Bomb go for currently on your servers? I scored one for 20G today, the cheapest one on our AH is 32G :D. Now I'm running Glyph of Molten Armor and Living Bomb for my majors and Slow Fall for my minor. Have Glyph of Frostfire waiting in the bank for when I hit 80.

I downloaded Xperl, Dominoes, BTex, and Combo Point UIM

Looks pretty snazzy..............we'll see if it improves or hinders my play in Ulduar tomorrow

NeedtoKnow or RoguePowerBars for SnD, Rupture & HfB durations.

I also use Pitbull and have my target frame right above my actionbar. Also NugEnergy and NugCombo for energy and combo points, Ive put the right under my character in the screen, and under it I have my needtoknow, so I have all the info I need in the middle of the screen. One of the nice things about NugEnergy is that it has build in lines in the bar (which you can add or remove lines), so there is one line at 55 energy (mutilate), one at 35 (envenom) etc so I can see the moment I have energy for something.

Also I use ElkBuffBars for buffs and Bartender for actionbars and a bunch of other stuff.

This is my UI right now:

You need your UI to be as customizable and as efficient as it can be.

Mine.

I got about a million addons, I couldn't even know where to start.

Anyone have a normal wow cd key they could sell me for cheaper than online?

The Ashes of Al'ar just dropped in a TK pug. So crushed at rolling a 66, lol. Someone won with a 100, and the RL had the audacity to pull the whole "omg, it's bugged, can't loot it!" shtick, but he conceded eventually and just gave it to the lucky fucker. I'd have dropped 10,000 gold or more to grab that shit.

Saw a fella pimping one of those around while doing Hodir quests. No question it's the most unbelievablely e-peen extending mount in the universe. You can see it from hundreds of yards away by the trails of energy that come off it's tail

What is the point of getting these super expensive enchants? I just put that +69 spellpower to staff enchant on, and saw there is a +81 SP enchant that would cost at least several hundred more gold, do people actually go after those? Also stuff like +10 stats to chest just seems like such a waste of money.

Second, I can't get into Ulduar at the moment but have been doing every other raid (occasionally). where can I get some good level 213 healing caster rings?

Of course they do. Min/maxer's spend thousands for 20 spell power.

min/maxing, grabbing that last bit of juice.

I mean look at how much Stormjewels are going for on the AH for a good idea of it.:lol

The three important parts of a rogue UI in my opinion are:

• Reducing the clutter around the screen (so you can easily see all the stuff that would get you aced like void zones, rocket blasts, etc.)
• Having your target/combo points close to center so you don't have to shift your focus from said center of screen
• An easy way to monitor important buffs like Slice N' Dice, Rupture, Hunger for Blood (if applicable). I know some go more in depth looking for trinket procs, but at the minimum you want to make sure the ones that need to always be up are going.

So here's my setup. I use LunarSphere for bars, MoveAnything! to move character and target portraits, NeedToKnow to track the 4 buffs above my action bar and Mik's Scrolling Battle Text to have my damage and healing organized around me. There are multiple mods that do what I listed but those are just the ones I've come to like.

Those look like the default Blizzard raid frames as well. It's a pretty nice UI for it not being heavily modified with addons that just take up lots of memory, and works better than I thought it probably could.

I'm an addon junkie to be honest, I'll try and get a picture of mine up later tonight when I'm in a raid combat environment.

The WoW raid frame takes up too much space and doesn't give you a range check.

If you take all of those top of the line enchants, gems & profession bonuses total them all up and multiply it by the 25 members in a raid, it does amazing things for the raids Healing Per second, Damage per second, and damage mitigated.

I'm behind on DKP because my schedule is too busy to raid every raid day or week. Plus, my laptop was crashing too much in the heat. I don't really have a chance when rolling on Ulduar stuff. Not that theres much Ele upgrades outside of tier stuff.

Anyone try Unholy tanking these days? I've been blood dps and blood tank for a long time, want to give something else a try.

When you have (epic) gear that you're not going to replace for quite a while it's worth it to put the more expensive enchants on. It's not like you can't make that money back quickly enough by doing the ebon blade, argent tournament, and hodir dailies which are all fast and easy.

This.

Since Ulduar came out and current content has become unpuggable (on my horrible server at least) we've had a metric shitload of people apping with second-rate enchants / gems / etc. I tore one app up over the fact that every enchant he had was the second best in slot. Even on one player that shit adds up, I think he was giving up +50 spellpower, which was about 4% of his total.

My take is that if someone apps to a progression guild without doing everything they can on their own to improve their toon that they're just going to be a second-rate raider. You shouldn't have to tell someone to enchant / gem / flask / eat / whatever. The only thing that seperates someone having, say, +50sp on their mainhand instead of +63 is gold. Gold is ridiculously easy to get - I play less than 20 hours a week (less than 15 in the past month) and I've got over 10K between my main, alt, and bank alt.

Altaholica doesn't help with the gold issue.

Got my tailoring to 300 with tons of Nether and Frostweave saved up; only spend around 100g. I would be ready to zoom past 400 but my priest is only level 49! :lol

Guild blew up. It was ugly and it sucks 'cause we had some really good players in there. I blame it on switching our focus to 25 mans really. We had a really good 10 man group and a pretty bad 10 man group. Our group was clearing Naxx and Malygos every week and starting on Sartharion with drakes when we switched to 25s. The extra 15 people just brought the whole thing down. People with un-gemmed and un-enchanted and in no way Naxx-ready gear, no flasks, no buff food, no shoulder or head enchants, no clue how to play their characters, and just generally had no business raiding. We tried to get them to put some effort into their toons but, it just went in one ear and out the other if they ever even read that forum. We carried them through Naxx but, we couldn't carry them through Malygos and we definitely couldn't carry them through Ulduar. We tried to help those sucking. We even went as far as to basically give some people a makeover. Some just got mad though. They said we we're trying to be too hardcore and they just wanted to be casual. They still wanted to come along on the raids though! I guess casual is an excuse to suck and not give a fuck about your character or the rest of the group.

Raiders started not showing to raids, then raid leaders started stepping down from their positions and going MIA, vent drama ensued, and it all blew up on the forum. I still don't know all the details since I stay out of vent unless I'm raiding. I went to work that afternoon and when I logged on that night on most of the raiders had left, a raid leader had jacked the gbank, posts were deleted on the forum, and all raiding was cancelled. Forever I guess. It was a disaster zone and I wasn't going to stick around.

I was afraid that we were on the verge of this honestly back when 3.1 went live. We too have a sect of really hardcore and then some casuals as well. The core of us were pushing through Uld but its not really possible to carry your casuals through there like you can in Naxx. Fortunately the officers stepped up and recruited about 8 additional core raiders to fill out our 25 mans, and we have since steamrolled through Ulduar while reserving offnights for Sarth and Naxx for our more casual members.

We of course get the occasional casual that wants into the Ulduar raid, but the officers just put them on blast about only raiding 1 day a week, not gemming and speccing correctly etc and leave it at that. Anyone can join what they call 'progression raiders' rank in the guild, but to do it there are now just attendance and performance requirements. Cant meet them and you get down ranked. Its worked for us, and everything is fine now.

I sorta gave up on raiding for the time being because its impossible to get my Death Knight in anywhere and Warrior sucks.

Nobody seems to want anything but ranged DPS classes. I just want to get that Priest up about 9 levels so I can start on Outlands.

Like I said before, I have been playing for over 4 years now. I know what I'm doing and I don't need anyone's help with gear. I already know about everything you just said. I never said my gems does more DPS. Those enchant are just what fits how I like to play.
