Don't let it happen to someone else. I'd suggest to get them good games, and supplement it with a Blockbuster Gift Card to rent those liscenced games, thereby confirming to them how much better the games you did get are in comparison.
I found out my brother already picked up the Lemony Snicket game for her. So then it's up to me to get the "wildcard" game which I have decided will be Kim Possible 2. I know she's a fan of the show so it's based on a "cool" license that she will enjoy and apparently it's a good game from what I've read and from what people here have said. I think she'll be happy with those picks.
The key will be to find it. I was at Best Buy the other day picking up gifts for other people and I swung by the GBA section there. It was like a bomb went off. Boxes thrown haphazardly around, stocks reduced to maybe 10% of what the section could hold... wait that's what the Best Buy GBA section always looks like. I guess it's off to the EBX's and such to find the game.
