Bumped into this somewhat older vid by our local davidjaffe davidjaffe and it's a good one for a change.

Basically looking at recent 2k moves it would seem an early access GTA6 "premium deluxe edition" could be in the cards. Aka the regular, expensive edition, followed by the gimped, delayed pesant discount edition.

tldr via AI tools:

In the video " GTA 6 WILL COST $150-$200 At Launch: My Prediction and Why...", the speaker forecasts that the launch price of Grand Theft Auto 6 could range between $150 and $200, particularly with the inclusion of early access options. They reference the trend of rising game prices, illustrated by 2K's strategy in their WWE series, proposing that GTA 6 might offer multiple pricing tiers, including a $150 version for two weeks of early access. The discussion highlights the expectation that online play will be part of the game from day one and will serve as a key revenue stream. The speaker notes the excitement surrounding the game’s features from recent leaks, while also acknowledging skepticism about its quality. Ultimately, they suggest that despite gamers' potential objections, many are likely to pay a premium for the opportunity to play the game earlier.

If that really is the plan, what's yours? Poll attached

Don't give these companies anymore shitty ideas.

Consumer's buttholes are already raw enough as it is. Broken backs are probably in the near future, but let's not expedite that.

No. I'm not even going to double dip (or triple dip) this time. I'm waiting another year or whatever for the PC version.

GTA 6 is one game i want to go in completely blind. I genuinely hope Rockstar denies previews and reviews to the game. I probably wouldn't pay 150, but certainly would 100$. Its a once in a blue moon event when it launches. I aint gonna wait. Hope Take2 isn't scummy about it

Of course, the answer is a big Yasssss queen.

related alternate question. Would you pay $699.99 for a PS5 Pro if it came with 1 year's early access of GTAVI?

No need to answer, that was a joke. Here's the real alt question:

Real related alternate question, if a game(let's say GTAVI) is a year old by the time it releases on your platform of choice will you still pay full price for it?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
They'd have to pay me $150 an hour to play this garbage, two weeks early or not

Nope and I honestly don't understand the mindset of people who would pay extra for the worst version of a game.
I haven't paid more than 45 bucks for a game in years and I doubt rockstar can make a game that would make me change that behaviour for.

I'm old and make a decent living and generally dgaf if games cost $50, $60, $80, $90... but this would be over the line for me, on principle. Hell no I wouldn't.

every gaming streamer in the world would drop 150 in a heartbeat to play it on release date, as in the actual release date

If the game is more than 70 dollars imma wait for a sale.
I dont play GTAO so i wont be missing any of the meta, the SP is unlikely to be spoiled for me cuz its the whole experience that matters.
I can wait.......wait I am gonna wait for the PC version.

No No and Fuck No.
Allowing this to happen and be paid for opens the flood gates for others doing the same.

Gaming is the community of idiots allowing ourselves to get boned regularly. Cause its a "deal" or impatient.

$150 American would probably equal $500 Australian given the current shitty price differences.
