Wow Metroid Prime 2s multi player chugs when there are 3 or more players.

I was playing with my friend and everything was going pretty smooth, then as soon as one of my other friends joined the framerate hit rock bottom. Playing with just 2 people is pretty smooth, but anymore then that and it becomes almost unplayable:(

since when is 30fps "unplayable"? seriously, give it a bit, you'll adjust to it after a while, and then be fine with it. the problem is youre so used to seeing metroid prime in constant 60fps, that the 30 is jarring at first, but it really isnt that bad once you get into it.

Its known that gamers are framerate whores!!

Sure they can watch tv at 30fps and animation at 24fps, but once a game isnt doing 60 theres problems.

This is such an old and lame argument. TV and film have motion blur, games do not. Also the accuracy of controls is directly tied to the framerate.

Back in the day we had Goldeneye at <18fps and we liked it.
I don't know what you're talking about, I was too busy playing Quake.

Merely for the sake of comparison, you see. I was far too busy playing Duke3d, even though the game wasn't 3d... It had badditude.

You can calculate the controls at 60hz or even a thousand and have the game play at 10fps, not a problem.

Im not too convinced with the motion blur argument, game visuals can also be animation blurred and interlaced.

Oh wait! I got it. Rally Cross on the Playstation splitscreen 4P. Someone could've held pictures up against the TV while swapping them somewhat quickly, and it would've looked better than that.

I used to play Nascar racing at around ~10 fps with my 486DX 100Mhz. :\

:lol

EEK! Youre giving me visions of Sega Touring Car. I bought it twice, the second time thinking I must have been on drugs for not liking the game. Unfortunately I still couldn't stomach its fame rate the second time around. Shooters I can deal with, but racers with poor frame rates are a different story I guess.

yeah I know. But I just had to play it with max details and resolution since it was one the first "proper" 3D racers I had for PC. I think it was around 1995... I couldnt just admit my speedy 100Mhz 486 couldnt handle it. :\
