Wrath of the Lich King: Alpha leak compendium; title music suite, abilities, pictures

Anyone see that Youtube video with the model viewer?

It showed the goblin barber with a selection of the haircuts. And the cuts were already ones in the game. So I'm assuming no new haircuts, we'll just be able to have another race's hair.

For example, female blood elf's could have troll dreads (!) or undead could have gnome pigtails (!!!).

In fact, I've never understood the drooling over Blizzard's art, ESPECIALLY in this game. It's nothing spectacular. And you'd hope at some point they'd uprade most of the armor to be somethin more than a coat of paint.

Compared to all the other mmos out there it's in a league of it's own. And you don't understand people drooling over Blizzards art? Really? They're second to none in the game biz.

I doubt that.

Also, shadow priests are getting consistently out-dps'd by mages at that level. I'm pretty sure they have the lowest top-dps of any class at t6 gear levels (maybe paladins are lower). But they're still retaining sunwells spots because VT is wicked awesome and they have an aoe heal, unlike paladins. (see what I did there? :) )

This is true, shadow priest damage tends to be higher than alot of other classes at lower gear levels, but once everyone starts gearing up their damage is fairly low in comparison. The reason why they are used is because of the utility they bring to a raid, utility that is arguably the best in the game. Shadow weaving + misery + vampiric touch pretty much guarantees their raid spots. DPS is only their focus in the sense that it assists in the raids mana regen, which increases their utility even further.

Started leveling another character (troll shaman) in preparation for this. Will truly be epic.

Points:

-WoW has a timeless graphics engine as far as I'm concerned. The style is 100% coherent with itself. Pleasing the eye in every fashion I could ask for. Entirely functional yet leaves room for the imagination.
-10 man raids available for all end-game content has re-sparked my interest in this game. 40 was terrible. 25 was pushing it. 10 is just right.
-The main theme is incredibly epic.

I completely agree with every one of these points.

Although I would support higher resolution faces on characters at least.

Might, Dreadnaught's, Onslaught, Warlord's... There's been some pretty awesome Plate thus far that's been hard for Blizzard to live up to (as many have failed; ouch at Wrath and Destroyers). But if that's a taste of Northrend plate, alongside the Death Knight starter set, things are looking hopeful.

I should start datamining WOLTK soon...
I have some unique tools for this. (My Warcraft Studio... no no... these are unique)

Or they just haven't gotten around to adding them into the game yet. It's still an Alpha remember.

I might start playing WoW again. I haven't played since, hmmm, since before TBC was released, now that I think about it. :lol Is there anywhere I can get TBC in Canada for 20 bucks or less?

How are the classes balanced right now for PvE and PvP? When I left the warlock ruled supreme for PvP and the warriors were whining about druids being their equals at tanking.

Tbh though, everybody whines about locks, they are quite op and destro locks are pretty imba dps in endgame

can someone tell me why there's no info about new shaman spells and talents?

the alpha notes said they would be playable

Classes

* All Classes are available for play. Spells and talents will be available for testing past 70 for the following classes: Druid, Mage, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior
so where's all the info?

g35twinturbo said:
probably the same reason why there is no hunters :(

How many different ways can you shoot a bow? :lol

And it looks like warlocks will stay right in their awesome little niche of OP enough to count; not OP enough to get nerfed.

STILL ALPHA!

This phase of alpha is mostly gameplay mechanics and dungeon runs.
Not little things...

Those are most likely to be ready and setup for testing during the private beta phase.

The Frost tree looks really interesting, kinda like a Shaman tank. Death Knight might actually be my first thing I do in WotLK.:D

o_O

Feral seems pretty cool now.

Wait, WTF at Cripple? 75% slow, pacify, silence for TWENTY SECONDS? And they still take damage from spells. Fuck that.

It'd be reduced in PvP I'm sure, to 10 or something, but that's still entirely to much too time given to able to sit there and effortlessly let DoT's tick and/or to nuke the shit out of someone. That'll be getting a cleaver taken to it in some manner.

* Cheap Shot - "Awards 2 combo points" removed from description.
wow well that sucks! Every other class seems to be getting awesome buffs and us poor rogues are gonna get the shaft

Several classes (Rogue, Shaman, Paladin, Hunter) are not being covered yet, it's not even a legitimate Alpha, it's F&F, and at the moment it's more like a wildly restricted demo of an Alpha.

I wonder if this will work with Devouring Plague.

I would really like someone in the Alpha to actually explain a few things. Theory crafting is great and all but if you guess wrong that you are let down.

One good example would be an explanation for the Death Knight's plagues.
There are a lot of different ways a DK can place a plague on their target but one thing I would like explained is Heart Strike(now called Obliteration).
Counting Plague Strike, Degenaration stacking 3 times, Infested Swarm stacking 3 times, Unholy's Blood-Caked Blade proc, Ghouls and Improved Corpse Explosion that would be a total of about 10 plagues on the target.
Which means Obliteration would do 3000 damage from the plagues alone. That's a crap ton of damage, not to mention all the damage from the plagues themselves and any Improved Blood Strikes inbetween.

Would also like to know more Dancing Runeblade. It says "doing the same strikes you do" but does that include Blood Strike and Plague Strike?

Eh, but well, as this patch has taught us everything is constantly in flux. The chance that all this will be again changed, removed or nerfed before actual release is quite high.

I haven't looked over the Spells and Talents that much, but I'm assuming that the cooldown on Runes and cooldowns on abilities will keep damage like that under control.

I'm glad they realize that Rogues are fucking ridiculous right now. Seems like a step in the right direction IMO.

The best control, the best damage, the best survivability: HULLO NERF?

Man, I'm gonna start smackin you fools with foldin' chairs. The Rogue doesn't have LK any patch notes yet, because it's alpha and it's not done yet, not because it's strong in BC.

Same goes for Hunter, Paladin and Shaman. I think those three are at the bottom of the PvP scene, so that'd be ESPECIALLY bad!
