Honestly, the storyline with the most potential AND the most versatility is that Roman loses, Brock wins, and Rollins cashes in and is successful.
1: Roman doesn't have the title, which would make him a complete heel
2: Brock -could- leave and do UFC, or
3: Brock could have his monster babyface run and chase through Summerslam
4: Rollins finally uses that fucking briefcase
Lots of potential with that angle for character growth and evolution. I don't know why they wouldn't go this route. You can't have Rollins cash in on Reigns, because that would make Rollins a face.
I still think the best ending is to have this be a long con with the Shield. Reigns and Lesnar fight, it's fairly even, but God BORK shows up and starts wrecking Reigns. God Bork blasts Reigns with a F5; gets the win. As Lesnar is celebrating (but heavily beat up), Rollins comes out, gets ready to cash in, Ambrose comes out to stop him (having lost the IC title to Bryan earlier in the night)...and as Lesnar gets up, Reigns hits Lesnar with a Spear (which only staggers the God Bork), Ambrose hits Lesnar with Dirty Deeds (dropping him to his knees), and Rollins hits Lesnar with a Curb Stomp. Rollins cashes in, goes to pin Lesnar, who STILL kicks out, at which point, they all look at Reigns, Triple Powerbomb, Rollins pins Lesnar, and the Shield re-unite. To top it off; Heyman goes from shocked to the evil smirk of death and lifts up the hands of the Shield.
It solves a bunch of continuity and story problems; for instance,
1) Why Ambrose & Reigns suddenly stopped chasing after Rollins - reason being that Rollins reconciled with the group after having second thoughts about the Authority's loyalty, something both Reigns and Ambrose have hinted at in promos in the past. Especially when you use the "we're brothers" line they keep repeating; family would reconcile no matter what travesties have occurred.
2) Heyman created the Shield to protect Punk initially (hence, the higher power comments from way back when, AND why he talked up Rollins and Reigns so much the entire time), and now is using it to take over WWE, as he originally planned. On top of it, the Authority might have found him useless if Bork had left - now he's the manager of the WWE WHC, and thus has a reason to be kept around by the Authority.
3) It lets Rollins branch out from the Authority; which he points out a) might have discarded him the second he wasn't useful, b) screwed up his brotherhood with promises of power that were never exactly given to him, and c) considered Orton the present and Rollins the future..while Rollins considered himself the present now.
Also, it sets up a bunch of potentially awesome feuds; Rollins can feud with Orton over the WWE WHC; Ambrose goes after Bryan for the IC Title, and Reigns goes after Cena for the US Title. You can also add Ambrose and Reigns as immediate heel contenders for the Tag Titles - and Reigns has a history with the Usos (they all grew up basically as family).
They did it with The Rock when he was Rocky Maivia. People legit despised him as a happy-go-lucky face before they turned him heel, aligning with The Nation of Domination. We can only hope and pray they apply it to this situation as well.
I'm convinced that they realized a couple of weeks after Philly that this was Rocky Maivia; and that their intention is to turn Reigns super-heel at WM 31. They're just fomenting the hatred for Reigns as high as they can currently in the process: crappy promos, terrible feuds, beating the crowd favorite and taking his title shot away...sounds like deliberate Rocky Maivia'ing at this point.
