I'm praying to the wrestling sports entertainment gods that we get a Lesnar win/Seth cash-in on Sunday.

Seth/Brock feud would be insane.

My immediate reaction is Brock re-signing means he'll retain, now I'm thinking about how he typically seems to have no issues jobbing...fuck.

On the other hand, Brock would be the easy choice to be the person that beats post-it note face, I mean CM Punk's, title reign record.

Serious question: when was the last time somebody watched a wrestling storyline and thought "oh these last few months of storylines finally make sense?" You'll get swerves and everything, but if you're not happy with an ongoing storyline, you almost certainly won't be happy with it later unless they change plans like they did with Bryan last year. People tried to dream that losing was a means to an end with C.M. Punk, Bray Wyatt, etc., but that never pans out. There have been countless times where the ridiculous pushes of guys like John Cena that had poor fan reception would seemingly indicate that they were part of a long term plan to eventually turn those guys, but that just wasn't in the cards. They might turn Reigns heel, but that wouldn't be because that's what they'd been planning for a while. It would be because they suddenly had a panic change and slapped on a band-aid to fix it. It's one of the biggest reasons why I just can't get back into wrestling. If you're looking for long-term booking and smart decisions, you're going to be disappointed over and over again.

Holy shit. THERE IS NOW HOPE!
Lesnar vs Rusev at Summerslam! Rusev is the only guy left on the roster that's still unstoppable enough to believably beat Lesnar. There is no other person who could look like they had any legit chance. Even when we were all begging for Bryan vs Lesnar we just wanted a good match and no one was actually expecting Bryan to win. Let Lesnar cool off without the title for 6 months and we can still have Bryan vs Lesnar next year.

((Remainder of post is what I'd been writing))

This is actually really on the ball and he's got the options right on how to desperately end the trainwreck at the last instant.

1) Lesnar wins. To the biggest pop ever. There would literally be people crying tears of joy.
2) Cash-in. Because, let's be honest, from a tactical perspective it's the best time to do that and Rollins' character is that of a cunning jerk. And everyone loves to love to hate him for it. If Orton wins earlier in the night it would essentially rule this out.
3) Shield megaheel stable would be AWESOME. Rollins runs out with the briefcase. Crowd goes nuts. Jumps in the ring and... hugs Reigns. Crowd boos hard but for all the right reaons. We'll know early on if this is possible; Ambrose has to win the ladder match for this to actually make any sense.

There's always...

4) Heyman turns on Lesnar during the match, but even Paul Freaking Heyman isn't going to get the crowd to care about Reigns. We've gone through 2 months of great promos to already prove that. Unless Reigns turned heel with this it would be a waste and crowds will boo Heyman because they legitimately hate him on a personal level and not because he's doing a great job of being the guy we're supposed to boo.

Lead-up to last year's WM was fantastic. Plans needed to be changed on just a few months' notice, yes, but it developed out of very intense year-long feud Bryan was having with HHH. It was a 100% believable, natural ongoing story.

This means two things.

Brock will win, with a good match that gives a little legitimacy to Reigns, and we will be all happy.

Reigns wins anyway, without giving a shit that the fans knowing Lesnar will stay, which will be an even bigger riot at WM.

Either way, I'm all in for WrestleMania now.

...

Cena beat Brock in the last few years. I was at the ppv.

Lesnar has to go face. It's the only way I can accept him winning, if Heyman jumps on the Reigns bandwagon, or if Rollins cashes in.

Dude is more money than Reigns will ever be

WWF in in '99 to 2000ish

Exactly. In the age of the Internet, it seems that plans fluctuate so quickly that long-term booking goes out the window.

Plans only "needed" to be changed because of fan reaction. From what I saw, they did a good job of quickly changing their plans around, but it wasn't so much a result of well-thought out storylines as it was an example of inserting face A into the default anti-HHH role. I'm not saying that it's lazy or poor booking, but it's indicative of a problem that appears to not be going away anytime soon.

Reigns is still winning. They didn't give him this push to have him lose. He will have a long reign too. He's the next Cena.

When Cena had his push for his first title reign, he wasn't being booed out of the building like Reigns is. There's no chance in hell that Lesnar doesn't leave with the title.

If by "push" you mean not main eventing any house show, beign booed when it should be just cheers, even losing to Big Show, and no effort whatsoever to make him look believable, then yeah.

His push was a trainwreck, not his fault, but maybe this time WWE realises that.

Brock re-signing is great. I would so love for Vince to finally get cold feet with Roman.
Why is there no Stardust (or even, Cody Rhodes) vs Goldust?
The crowd wasn't too into their match at Fast Lane, so it seems like their feud has been dropped despite Cody's amazing post-match promo. :/

Watch as Brock vs. Reigns is a curtain jerker and Reigns spears and wins within seconds. :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Lol, that role is reserved for Bryan, until he melts out of the spotlight.

Actually, if Reigns and Lesnar was a 3 minute squash match with Reigns getting OBLITERATED by Lesnar ala Cena; wouldn't that kind of be one of the most shocking and dramatic matches in recent history. I feel like it would be a crazy swerve but in a good way; one of those moments that would make everyone who thinks they know what is going to happen scratch their heads and be genuinely taken along for the ride. Ala 'Taker losing.

Most excited for the entrances, think the big ones will be in the Sting / HHH match and Cena Rusev, Rusev better come out on a tank or a bear or some shit.

Also the inevitable moment where HHH and Sting both swing at each other with Hammer and Bat will be fun.

He's gonna lose then get the Cena v. Rock comeback story next Mania.

This sounds exactly right. Keeping Brock as this untouchable god-king jives perfectly with only having him wrestle occasionally, and they get to continue to build Reigns up bit by bit if they go this route.

I stand by my booking and prediction.
Reigns and Brock go back and forth, Brock is crushing Reigns.
Authority come down with HHH, Big Show, Kane, Rollins and crew and after some "why are they here, they are going to screw Reigns!"
Then one of them decks Paul Heyman distracting Brock.
They beat down Lesner.
Vince comes down and Reigns pins Lesner who kicks out anyway, and gets beat down some more. Then Reigns pins him and Vince yells to ring the damned bell.
Place goes ballistic, HHH raises Reigns hand.

WWE gets the face that the crowd will get behind in Lesner.

This would be way too smart for WWE booking. Nobody wants to turn Reigns heel just yet. They have even thrown The Rock's half-endorsement at the guy at this point, I gotta imagine they will stay the course.
