The plan would be Sting vs Taker next year you'd think. Both guys shaped up really well for this year, as long as both can hold it together for another 12 months (which is an unknown due to their age) a touching retirement match would be on the cards.

Not sure how it looked like on the WWE Network, but the majority of the crowd at Levi Stadium booed the hell out of Roman Reigns.
He couldn't even get to the ring safely during his entrance.

They're gonna have to start saving that entrance for big events or something. Doing it every show, it's only a matter of time before he falls down some stairs or really gets into it with a fan.

I don't see the Sting/HHH match as a spit in the face, I see it as a last hoorah moment. Sting is old, everyone from the WCW era is old. WWF era? Old. As far as wrestling goes, alot of the old wrestlers are done for.

So for Sting, to come out and face HHH, and then have NWO come out and have DX come out, and pretty much have a dream match...it's a spectacular way to signal the end of an era. Now yeah, Sting COULD'VE won against HHH, but he's old. This will probably be his last real match. HHH can still fight, he can still have people up against him.

I thought it was great. A last hoorah for a 16 year old era, during those minutes it didn't matter what was happening, everyone was a kid again. Weak ending sure, but that's not what the match was about.

At this point I'm legitimately surprised HHH didn't book himself over Taker at WM.

Having said that, I bet if you asked him he'd say he did beat him. He's literately done promos on TV telling people he might have lost the match but in reality he won. Oh ok. :|

I honestly did the cmpunkface.gif tonight, that was my actual reaction.

I never wanted Sting to wrestle for WWE, not even if they tried to put him over cause I know they'd fuck it up somehow. Outside of a squash, this couldn't have been much worse.

I hope he retires now, at least from this company.

It was about Triple H spitting in the face of everyone else for the sake of him winning. It wasn't a good match either way but Sting should have won. but I'm also one of those people that wish Triple H would just stay in the background and never make an appearance on tv since it's just him hogging the spotlight.

I don't think this was a great wrestlemania but I do like that rollins won and that lesner lost. I was hoping this would have been lesner last match but since he resigned he will be back, it's a shame.

I don't think there's anything wrong in assuming HHH has been waiting since 2002 to be able to bury Sting just like he did with the rest of the wcw alumni (?). He said so himself in a promo months ago, that Sting didn't come to the WWE earlier because he knew HHH was waiting for him. The Hogan moment could very well be a final fuck you to the fact he had to job to him in 2002.

So basically just keep Sting around another year so he can lose again.

I've been bitching about the Stephanie and Authority problem for ages, there is nothing to even it out. It always ends with "SEE, WE ALWAYS WIN LOL".

This, entirely this. I can't tell you how bored I am of the Authority storyline and this is the reason why. It's sort of like nWo syndrome. Where they ran rampant and destroyed everything, but never really got their comeuppance.

If they ever do Sting / Taker. Do it one of the other big PPV's but dont do it at mania.

I dont know how much longer Taker has been every mania should be treated as his last at this point. Sting is not the way for him to go out.

Also maybe Sting should win a match in WWE.

Ya'll ever consider Sting didn't want to go over because he doesn't have much left in the tank?

Let's say he won, then what? Triple H is still in power, in storyline. Nothing changed. But Sting won a WWE match. That'd be it.

I had fun watching this live. HHH/Sting match was just too cheesy.

The crowd was amazing except during the Taker/Wyatt match.

I was there too. The Rock should've showed up after that match. No more cheeres left to give. It was interesting hearing chants start in one section and not be picked by other sections. The crowd was amazing during the main event, I'm proud to be part of that.

And absolutely nobody in the world cares.

Vince was left a bloody mess and Shane got HBK's mucus on him at WM22. They kept going strong as a-hole heels all the way until late 2006.

so, what is the payoff of STING IS TAKIN' OUT TRIPLE H?

At least him losing gives them an out. I mean shit, the Authority storyline is on its deathbed. Last thing they need is another reason for people to think this is going on too long

Who cares who won a match between two men with an average age of 50? The ending was weak because it was abrupt and anticlimactic, not because HHH won. The whole thing was like an over-the-top microcosm of the Monday Night Wars, complete with the two factions that embodied them, and it was fun as fuck. It didn't match the tone of the buildup, but taken on its own, it was fun, engaging, surprising, and covered up the performers' age-related limitations very well.

Totally didn't even know until now ESPN was covering WrestleMania on SportsCenter and Twitter and judging by Coach's Twitter comments it seems they're is going to cover it more.

Makes sense when you have two of your most popular on-air personalities in Simmons and Beadle being huge WWE fans.

Mhm. Sting vs. HHH was a dream match. It's what fans wanted to see. The two old guards duking it out. It doesn't matter who won or lost, and unless you wanted to drag it on for another year, it was a great bout for Sting.

None, because the writing for this match was garbage. If they wanted to make some sense out of it, Sting had to win, because his reasoning was sound. Instead, they switched it to a WWE-killed-DUBYA circlejerk. It was filler.

If that was Sting's last match, the win means nothing for the storyline either way. But Sting deserves to ride off in the sunset with a win at WrestleMania, which wouldn't have harmed Triple H in any way.

If Sting is gonna stick around, he's lost momentum for no reason.

I thought the whole thing was great.

I just wish the best Intercontinental champion ever, the Honkey Tonk Man, was there to congratulate Daniel Bryan.

It was a fun Wrestlemania. They pulled out all the stops.

I stopped watching wrestling shortly after the wcw caved but was intrigued by sting fighting for wwe. Did they really have nwo vs dx? Wouldn't it have made more sense if triple h had support from both DX and nwo with sting having little from respectable guys who had memorable matches with him such as DDP, flair, or Goldberg resulting in the loss. The whole crow persona started as an anti nwo, dark crusader for good. Why go that route of team ups. He wasn't about having backup until briefly joining wolfpac.

Rewatching now since I saw it live.

Bryan's entrance really was incredible live. Easily the most over guy on the roster.

Stardust rocking that Mr. Sinister jacket.

People forget HHH beat Brock clean too. We all know where that led!

Which was fucking nowhere.

Anyway, looking forward to watching Bray and Rusev battle it out in TNA as Big Show and Cena fight it out on RAW.

the ladder match was what it was. I'm not a big fan of them usually but it had some decent spots.

Rollins v. Orton was great. Loved the curb stomp into an rko.

Stanger v Mr. H's started off great and turned into a clusterfuck that left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the night.

Cena v. Rusev and Undertaker v. Wyatt were both fun matches with underwhelming finishes. I enjoyed both but both ended with me wanting more. Undertaker looked to be in great shape.

Mania event was great until the mitb winner cashed in to pin the challenger to the strap for the strap. Wtf? Did that not make sense to anyone else? Should of just drove bray wyatt's med cart down the ramp and ran over lesnar to beat him.

Maybe Triple H going over is just that legendary Triple H tactic. "hey man. Give me the win now and I will totally put you over next time, at some random no name PPV event in the Butthole of the USA".

Dude does that all the time.

He did it to Cena. Did it to Orton, did it to Punk (and then backed out of the return match to fight Nash in a ladder match) did it to Brock.

Because they wanted to bury WCW one more time. Sting and the NWO being the most iconic pieces of the competition during the Monday Night Wars.

Sorry if it was brought up already but did anyone catch Rollins thanking Roman as he was pinning him? It's right in between the 2 and 3 count.

"thank you so much"

Glad I didn't watch. Was tempted for that match but the outcome seems to have ended up a letdown. If they were going for a sting loss, nwo and DX vs a four horseman type of team up would have been fun and cohesive.

What the fack Sting, what the actual fack you held out so long because of reasons like that, and now you seemingly didn't care your 'WM moment' was one last collective dump on the most popular parts of the company you loved. Don't shake his hand. -_-

My theory, HHH hates Sting and needed to bury him because Flair always talked about how much he liked the guy and HHH is jelly as.

Now everytime Flair goes into a reminisce about the old days HHH can be like "Yea but I beat him remember, YOU ALL SAW IT."

Maybe on Raw they'll reveal it wasn't Sting Trips beat, but the Bogus Sting.

Swerve.
