WWE Raw drops to lowest TV rating in 18 years

When will the rating results drop?

Internet says...
For those wondering, the TNA Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor ratings are delayed due to the Thanksgiving holiday. They will be out on Monday while viewership for tonight's WWE SmackDown won't be out until Tuesday. Numbers for Monday's WWE RAW will be delayed also, they will be released on Wednesday.

wwf transitioned into wcw so slowly I didn't notice

actually that's an insult to wcw, even new blood vs the millionaires club and flair's magnificent seven was more entertaining then wwf right now

The difference is that WCW's nitro main events were like Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart vs Sting and Randy Savage. Their star power was ridiculous. WWE has...Roman Reigns and Sheamus.

Hey... don't knock the star power of Sheamus. Did you happen to catch him on ESPN SportsCenter last week?
And you'll also find him on movie screens everywhere next summer playing the role of Rocksteady in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Today should be fun!
Every day in the senile Vince era is fun.
Consider this thread bumped indefinitely until he croaks.

It's okay, though... because the WWE is still profitable. Yes, profitable. Because they've managed to con advertisers into thinking people still like their shitty product more than one week out of the year and because they've cultivated key relationships with Bonnie Hammer, ESPN and the Susan G. Komen scam artists. So let us ignore all of the missed opportunities and the sheer unwatchability of endless commercials, Network shilling and "make Roman look strong" self-defeated booking and praise the genius of this man instead.

It's sad that I look forward to this thread every week. But WWE obviously isn't getting the message that Raw sucks now, and people don't want to watch 3 hours of this badly-booked shit.

Apparently we've now crossed the streams into the meta territory where it's now a GOOD thing that RAW is shit because it keeps people talking about it on angry podcasts and blogs (and in this thread). Hating on the WWE is now its own cottage industry... pioneered by Bryan Alvarez and everyone from Steve Austin to Vince Russo is now hopping on the bandwagon to get viewers, hits and subscriptions.

No they are. They actually send out an email for help!

“WWE sent out an email blast to its WWE Fan Council yesterday, asking them to take a survey concerning the state of Raw. The email asked when a viewer actually watches the show, when they change the channel and other questions. The company was curious if the respondent would change the channel during talking segments, backstage bits, recaps, ect. Raw has lost approximately [25 percent] of it’s viewership since July.”

Fan council? That's a thing?

When I was a young lad I use to love watching wrestling and practicing moves on my cousins ect. Seems like the younger crowd these days watch UFC more & more and the older fans are just getting bored of wrestling.

If the WWE Fan Council would have been doing their jobs, they wouldn't be in this predicament. Lay blame where it belongs.

Keep SmackDown PG and go for the family friendly crowd. Make Cena the face of the brand and sell loads of colourful shirts.

Bump Raw up to a 14/MA but don't go full-blown carny. You want the UFC crowd and reality show lovers, not backyard wrasslin' dirtbags with no disposable income. Lesnar is the Gatekeeper.

Rarely (if ever) have the two shows and wrestlers interact with each other.

Diversify the product for different audiences. I don't want to watch 5-6 hours of the same thing with the same people every week. In fact I haven't in years.

Or continue to do nothing different and I'll stick with checking in on NXT every other week, I'm easy.

REDACTED DUE TO ALMOST GIVING A SHIT ABOUT THE WWE

That's funny, people on the WWE Fan Council are exactly the people the WWE should not be turning to. They should send something out to people who have canceled the network, give them a free month for answering the survey.

To be fair, this past Monday Night game between the lowly Ravens without Flacco and Browns without Manziel probably pushed a lot of people to watch something else.

Sheamus=ratings. Sheamus' Ireland tourism intro video to boost tourism by 300 percent.

Honestly really like the new League of Nations stable. I hope they run with it.

Looks like Sheamus as champion is a huge draw. I hope they keep the belt on him and he breaks the record for number of days held.

love on your sleeve
I figured they would do ok this week. MNF between two non-playoff teams missing their star players was weak competition.

WWE clearly benefitted from the Monday Night Football game viewership dropping to 10.116 million viewers for a matchup between two struggling teams

Last weeks MNF game averaged 14.2 million. Basically it took MNF losing 4 million viewers over the prior week to produce a minor bump

So not worth it

So, December 1st 2014:
The show drew an average of 3.88 million viewers.

Hour one: 4.23 million
Hour two: 3.95 million
Hour three: 3.47 million

Hey, it's only 710.000 viewers lost in a years time. I guess it's us that lose, indeed. :D

Honestly I enjoyed a lot of Raw this week. I love New Day and they were there pretty much every hour, Charolette, Becky and Paige have a new, interesting wrinkle in their angle, and the League of Nations could be great if handled properly.

Though, I was almost thinking that there'd be a triple heel turn against Reigns if he had actually lost. THAT would have been really exciting to see where they took it... But they didn't and I was foolish for thinking they'd even consider it.

It'll all be crap when Reigns eventually ends up winning though.

Shame the ratings didn't drop. This weeks Raw was the one that broke me (only reason I even bothered tuning in was because MNF was trash), don't plan on watching any WWE until the Rumble.

Maybe you should quit watching entirely

Nah. I still enjoy wrestling and I think they'll get out of this rut eventually. NXT is still great. But tuning in to see Tommy Dreamer in 2015 is somehow fucking worse than tuning in to see Kane in 2015.

All this time i thought Sheamus' finisher was called the "bro kick", but it's Brogue kick. " I just kicked you bro" made a lot of sense. I didn't watch much of Raw, but i do like the League of Nations thing. They are still trying too hard with Reigns.

Remember the show three weeks ago that did so poorly because "it wasn't live":

8pm: 3.480
9pm: 3.177
10pm: 2.863

Avg: 3.173

did better than this week's rating. make no mistake, the numbers are still in the shitter, even if numbers are "up" from last week.

Going against a lower-rated Monday Night Football game, the ratings for the Monday, November 30th edition of WWE Raw were up to 3.16 million viewers, up from last week's record low by 210,000 viewers.

To put the number in perspective, 3.16 million viewers tied the November 9th show for the second lowest watched non-holiday episode of the show since 1997. The Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens game on ESPN drew 10.11 million viewers, down four million from the week before when the New England Patriots played the Buffalo Bills.
What's next week's football game?
