That so? I stand corrected than.

I'm European, so we get them half a year ahead of time (they're currently advertising for Post-Mania, for instance), figured it was the same in the US since I always read in the reports that they have the ring announcer announce to the crowd when they're in town the next time and have tickets for sale right away.

Have you seen thz proces for those houseshows? 85 EUR for balcony seats. 130 for groundfloor before the ring, not first floor.

I always go to these but im not considering this time.

It sucks when even The New Day gimmick is starting to take a downturn with the overuse of the unicorn stuff.

There is really not much for me to tune in for right now. It's just background noise.

No Cesaro and I am actually looking forward to Cena's return.

It's awesome. Bad ratings, lower advertising revenue, lower house show revenue are the only thing that will force change in the product. It needs to keep sliding.

It's nuts. WWE has gone full TNA where they have conditioned the hardcore wrestling audience into actively rooting against them despite there being no viable alternative.

I would rather have no wrestling than bad wrestling. Have you tried sitting through 3 hours of Raw? It's horrible stuff. I miss WCW.

So not worth it

Honestly I'm utterly shocked at how many people in the wrestling thread still sit through Raw every week.

I mean... I respect their resolve, but question their sanity.

I set an appointment to watch it and fizzle out around the first hour mark if nothing interesting is announced for later in the show. I will tend to tune in again around 11pm to see what is up.

Tuning in at 11pm this week was a huge mistake.

Pro wrestling fans won't take you seriously unless you are a national wrestling promotion with a cable TV deal because WWE has conditioned them to believe that is the only way a wrestling promotion qualifies as being legit.

He didn't say "the public at large', he said the hardcore wrestling audience. As in the one most likely to watch alternatives like Lucha Underground.

I havent sit through a full episode of Raw in months and I don't miss it a single bit. I got bored beyond belief with the #RollinsEra and I cant imagine how bad it is now since Shaemus is champion and Vince has seemingly learned nothing from the failed Roman push earlier this year.

WWE buying out WCW was the worst thing to happen to the business.

I went from being hyped as all hell, sitting in the crowd at the Raw in Manchester just last month to ... not watching Raw for 3 weeks straight because Survivor Series was so awful.

People said Kane winning the championship belt from Rollins would be a bad move, but it would have been at least a little more interesting than what we've got now. Sheamus/Reigns feud is maybe literally the worst thing.

I think the same argument can be made for them. Places like F4W/Observer Board have plenty of people who say they don't care about the indies because of production values or they can't watch it on TV at a convenient time. I noticed a big drop off of interest over there when TNA's move to Monday night back in 2010 bombed spectacularly. It was then that I realized most fans in general just want a good national scale wrestling show to watch on Monday nights and that's it.

Raw is still good background noise. That's pretty much why I watch it.

And even then I still question my sanity too.

I watch it in a manner where it's "only" 2h15m. Sometimes I'll dedicate my attention to it, other times it'll be on a tablet whilst I'm playing a game.

All Vince is going to see is the crowd chanting Tater Tots and he will think this shit is working.

It's a shame. Raw has actually had some good matches over the past few months but story development and promo work has been in the dumpster.

I could see that. A national show provides the biggest opportunity to talk about the show with friends. I could bring up the latest Chikara show or what's going on in NJPW, but with a few exceptions I'll probably be met with blank stares.

I can't believe people still watch weekly, even watching for the hope of something interesting happening is crazy. I started watching again after CM Punks pipebomb, watched them turn it to shit, and haven't consistently watched Raw in years and I'm fine.

Just NXT, and Rawaftermania is enough, if anything crazy good happens like surprise returns and promos you can always watch replays on their YT channel.

A big part of the frustration with current WWE is for the first time in nearly a decade they have a roster full of talented people in just about every match on a given card. But the creative direction of everything is broken.

People actually care about a lot of the under / mid carders but WWE is not using them like they should or like they use to use people on that level before. These days instead of a well rounded show full of compelling feuds in each level they only want a handful of people on the card to be over and want the rest of the card to be interchangeable vanilla robots.

After Rock left for Hollywood and Bork left Vince high and dry after being pushed like crazy from his debut, they no longer want anyone who's bigger than the company. If someone gets too big, this happens.

watched a raw episode after a long time on tv and i must admit its pretty boring , not that the wrestlers are bad but i feel there is just too many weak poor storylines and huge lack of legit heels ... back in the day austin , rock ,hhh, undertaker, kane could flip switch from being heel to face so easily but these guys all are just normal faces....

... i hope someone who takes a lot of selfies with a girl isn't the only way to get heat these days in wrestling...

Apart from the authority copying and trying to do something vince did a while back , nothing that good..

The last few weeks have just been dull. Stopped watching last week's one as the 8-man tag begun since I'm fed up with tag matches closing Raw (even more so if they end via DQ or just turn into a big brawl without officially ending). Would it really hurt to have say Sheamus vs Ambrose as the main event and then have the story develop afterwards?

And the Tater Tots shit from this week. Talk about trying to force a catchphrase. Did Roman actually say a sentence that didn't have "Tater Tots" in it during that promo?

Triple H: “We just have to become more disciplined and more Creative with how we do things, and how we operate the shows. We’ve had some unfortunate situations with injuries and everything else. It’s on us to be more creative and come up with a better format; a better show. We hear people’s frustrations and in a lot of ways feel the same way. It’s fixing it. And, trying to fix it. It is what it is. How we fix it, we’re not 100 percent sure yet. But, we will get there. Trust me.”

Is lucha still shown on Spanish / mexican channels like Gala and what not? I haven't watched wrestling in YEARS but used to be a huge fan. Not sure what alternatives there are to WWE / TNA these days.

In regards to freshening up the presentation, even just implementing a few new camera views would help to liven things up a little on Raw:

Hmm...I don't really have any details on those.
I thought CMLL shows on one of those Spanish channels, but I'm not totally sure.

As for other alternatives on TV...

-Lucha Underground: Probably already mentioned a few times in this thread, but it's pretty awesome. Shows on El Rey.
You can probably find Season 1 out on the Interwebs someplace and Season 2 is coming next month. Highly recommended.

-Ring of Honor: Whether it shows in your area varies. They got some pretty good wresting even though their production team kinda sucks.

-NJPW: The only thing showing in the US are select matches on AXS! These are older matches generally, but most of 'em are pretty good/entertaining.
Pretty sure they also have a streaming service too, which gives you access to a ton of their stuff.

Beyond that, there's lots of smaller/indie promotions floating around out there, though other members here could give you more details on those.

That was during 'Mania X, right? Helps that they had that camera there for the ladder match later in the night.

Hey.

They did something on RAW that broke from their mold for a change. Good for them.

But WWE's problems are bigger then 1 decent RAW. Its going to get months of consistently decent programming to climb back

Raw last night was pretty interesting:

-The WWE Title changes hands on free TV for the first time in 4 years
-Vince McMahon appears on TV
-Even some smaller things, like the hardcore match they had, the use of ECW footage on the main Raw broadcast, the asshole chant from the crowd, the presence of blood in the main event, were all atypical for the WWE nowadays

It certainly seemed like last night's show was a bit reactionary to the drop in ratings. Will be interested to see how they progress over the next few weeks.

Yeah, all of these stood out for me as well.

Expecting the first point when things started out the way they did but the rest of it was a nice surprise.

i was expecting a month-long fired-but-buying-tickets-to-raw-every-week type of booking that built up to the eventual job contract and rematch at RR.

I had faith that they had figured it out last night and dragging shit out any longer would just continue to kill ratings.

Roman is champ. It's time to find out if he works or doesn't.

was actually the best raw i can remember for a looooong time. to go from arguably the worst to the best in the space of week is infuriating and promising at the same time. you morons had it in you all along. lets see if you can string a few good episodes together.

They could have gotten more out of these past 48 hours in terms of ratings. Its something Alvarez also pointed out, they could promise that Vince would be on next weeks show, and then 2 weeks from now the match will happen

I really enjoyed the main event at RAW, dont get me wrong its the best thing since that Taker and Lesnar brawl. But last night also feels sorta like Goldberg beating Hall and Hogan on the same night to win the championship.
