"Singer's X-Men films normally are good movies, just not good X-MEN films" really hits the nail on the head, and is the reason why I've never been too invested in the series.
I've never found them to be particularly good movies.
I think they benefit from coming after an age where a standard comic book movie was Steel.
I know how it feels. Going back to read the old stuff remedies that.Current marvel comics and the fox X-Men cinematic universe have basically killed the love of X-Men that I had in my childhood.
This movie look like crap from day one unfortunately
Honestly, despite being an enormous X-men fan, I'm a bigger fan of the MCU and I think Marvel regaining the rights would do more harm than good. Mutants have too many historical ties to be believably weaved back into the MCU proper. Any attempt to do so would feel so forced, it'd drive the whole universe down.
Just give them back fantastic 4, ya limey bastards
X-Men: Apocalypse looks awful , i'm probably never gonna consider watching an X-Men movie again until Marvel gets them back.
Huh? The winter soldier had Batroc the Leaper and he is an obscure character in comics
The corner they've written themselves into is that there's nearly a 35 year gap in the movies between Angel/Psylocke and Deadpool/Colossus. And then Wolverine can be at any point, unless their solution to getting around Jackman's departure isn't to recast Logan but replace him altogether with someone like X-23 in the movie next year. In which case, that's a third, further-down-the-road time period to reconcile.Fox needs to just make a X-Force movie with Wolverine, Deadpool, Colossus, Psylocke, and Angel. I think it would do pretty well if executed correctly.
I feel like I'm missing something.X-Men is still the MVP of comic book adaptations. Nothing has come close to capturing these goosebump moments.

Ya know what couldn't hurt? Bringing back Magneto's theme music from First Class. Why in the world wasn't that used again? It's flat out amazing.

Watch me, Bobby! I'm gonna leak all the things, then we'll see what Fox has to say.No, it can't, because Fox isn't in anywhere near the same position Sony was as a studio. You can't remove the context of why Sony was even considering the option.
This isn't fantasy football. You can't just drop and pick up whole intellectual properties off the waiver wire Thursday afternoon before 6pm.
This is joke right? Sabretooth looks mentally challenged (and given his dialogue and behavior in the film, he probably is).
did you just put the word good and.
X-Men Origins Wolverine in the same sentence
So when they gonna reset this timeline?
Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth was one of the few good things about X-Men Origins Wolverine.
Secret Wars styleEven IF marvel were to get x men back, how would they incorporate them in the univers?
A the very least, he had actual personality, unlike the grunting imbecile we had in the first film.
Even IF marvel were to get x men back, how would they incorporate them in the univers?
It's really basic but really catchy and for me, is the closest that series has ever gotten to really marrying a character to their theme.

Adapt to the current landscape? These reviews sound nothing like his prior xmen movies. I hate that he felt he had to adapt to the current landscape because it sounds like he kind of fell flat doing so
Make the Xavier Institute the Hogwarts of the MCU. Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto and Mystique as professors, Cyclops and Jean as POV characters leading a teen team. Trask/Sentinels/Weapon X as the villains, possibly with some Hydra ties, and the movie ends with Magneto and Mystique taking some students and Weapon X test subjects and leaving the school to become the Brotherhood.
They're part of the long game, like Spidey. Young characters who will eventually grow up to become the core of the next chapter of the MCU.

X-Men really needs more of this guy. My favorite X-Men character by far and he has only been done justice so far in the Deadpool movie.Batman vs. Superman and potentially X-Men getting significantly worse scores than Deadpool.
Who saw this coming.
What the heck are you talking about, Winter Soldier was nigh unstoppable in that movie.Batroc and Crossbones were manhandled way too easily.
Imagine if Disney and Marvel made DC movies...I shudder the treatment they'd give to Deathstroke. They would probably have Batman take him out with 1 punch or something.
Overloaded with action in a vain effort to compensate for a lack of genuine excitement, X-Men: Apocalypse is a middling disappointment for the franchise.
Consensus up.
