I can't believe that this movie is worse than Iron Man 2-3, Ant Man, Avengers 2, Thor 2, Cap 1, Amazing Spiderman 1-2, etc.

Unless it is at the same level as Wolverine Origins, it will be what it is for a stupid superheroes movie -> good enough.

To be clear, while I seem to be one of the few who didn't think it was a bad film, I've been arguing that I didn't want Singer coming back to this series since before he even did it. I didn't even want him to come back after DoFP.

So yeah, he should go. Especially considering the direction the series is heading. I'm not sure he's cut out for that shit.

Bobby like Nas with this ether shit.

You know, season 5 of Game of Thrones might have been worth it for this gif. All I need now is a similar gif from What We Do in the Shadows.

What the heck are you talking about, Winter Soldier was nigh unstoppable in that movie.

I'm talking about what you're talking about.

Batroc. But it seems now you wanna talk about Winter Soldier.

Yeah he was one of the main "villain" who was involved in the big climatic showdown. Usually the hero and the villain duke it out at the end for a good 5-6 minutes. That's usually how action movies work.

This movie might still end up being certified fresh as more reviews come in. With opinions of the iflm being all over the place, I've got a feeling that I may end up enjoying it. We'll see in a few weeks.

Batroc and Crossbones were manhandled way too easily.

Imagine if Disney and Marvel made DC movies...I shudder the treatment they'd give to Deathstroke. They would probably have Batman take him out with 1 punch or something.

Crossbones' plan was
to blow himself and Cap up at the same time, and he would have succeeded if Scarlet Witch hadn't been there
. Batroc was only a minor side villain for the introductory chapter designed to show Cap's new fighting style and strength IMO. Batroc handled himself against Cap about as well as you would expect any regular human to.

Where could I read up on your review?

Some of the reviews confirm my biggest fear I had: Singer simply can't juggle bigger casts. It has always been a problem in his X-Men movies that mostly revolved around 3 to max. 4 characters with everyone else being peripheral at best but now it seems to finally have gotten the best of him. It's time for Singer to step back and only produce these movies.

Third movie always seems o be cursed

Outside of the MCU, that is absolutely true.

Blade Trinity
Superman 3
X-Men 3
Spider-Man 3
Fantastic Four 2015 (okay this is cheating a bit as they're all bad and this isn't a threequel, but this is by far the worst)
The Dark Knight Rises (okay it's not the same as these others, but it was definitely disappointing compared to its predecessors)

Surprisingly, it's all the same people.

No Vaughn involvement.

Looks like Singer moved from introspective character stuff to a heavy fighting action emphasis, which he's never really done well as far as mutant on mutant action before.

Already? Faster than I thought.

It has the writer from that awful F4 2015 movie.

Yeah, same crew as DOFP, which makes these reviews all the more disappointing.

You would think they couldn't possibly fuck this up, following on the heels of such a stellar film.

Man wtf? I'm baffled then. I didn't think Vaughn's uninvolement would have that much of an effect. If it ain't broke...

Certified fresh is different than regular fresh. A movie can't be certified fresh if it ever falls below 70% RT.

Regardless of one's feelings for Iron Man 3, we can all agree that 2 was already a huge step down, and therefore the trilogy doesn't fit the general superhero trilogy pattern (where it's often part 1 is good, part 2 is great, and part 3 is bad in comparison to the first two).

But 2 is the best one

I never thought DoFP was all that stellar to begin with. It had some good performances and some entertaining action, but it was more an act of working with everything that came before it, including the comic influence, rather than pulling off anything great on its own merits.

The original ideas felt like the worst parts, minus QS which sounds like the extent of the creativity was that one time.

DoFP got by on the novelty and pulling that off more than being an actual good film. Singer made some good X-Men films, but those same films made now just aren't going to feel fresh. Even Vaughn barely brought anything new to the table.

I hope they just reboot this franchise for real after this and Wolverine 3. After Deadpool, this franchise seems like Weekend at Bernie's and that is not acceptable in 2016.

I like how that goddamn Evans of Steel gif is in all the comic threads now

Also I'd like to officially accuse BobbyRoberts of not actually seeing this movie

Damn, whoever made that gif... hats off to you.

Also, you should burn in hell for what you just unleashed on the world GAF. It's gonna be everywhere if it isn't already, and it ain't gonna be pretty.

Should we be happy the MoS and Chris Evans are being replaced or terrified of this new combination?
