i enjoyed it very much :) it was really cute. went in expecting stinker cuz saw the review scores and came out pretty pleased. love the little moments between the characters and the power pron deliverededededededddddddd

it was not a srs or gritty movie, and it had weak parts where the pacing was awkward and some of the characters didnt really sell me but overall i had fun :D
Glad you enjoyed it, I hope to get to it as well!

I've not seen the previous two films (I know. I know) but I still enjoyed it. It's definitely not BvS bad that's for-sure

One scene I did find odd though was at the end when
the news reporter was defending Magneto and how he had helped defeat Apocalypse. Fair enough he did, but he had also possibly killed millions of people beforehand. Yes you can argue the news reporter wouldn't necessarily know it was Magneto that was pulling down buildings, but still, it's not something the audience can really overlook.

Let's be honest. The last stand is a shitty movie. One of the worst superhero movies out there. Yet it scores a 58%. How serious can RT be taken then? There are certainly more examples.

But that just means 58% of all known reviewers gave X-men The Last Stand a positive review, which is the fact reflected in the RT score. Do you know how RT works? I mean, what are you even saying here. You think it is "one of the worst superhero movies out there", but have you considered that maybe most reviewers didn't agree with that? So you're saying no reviews should be taken seriously?

So I've seen a few comments about Apoc being hilarious. Is that hilarious like in the cartoon or hilarious as hilariously bad?

Pretty exciting if it's the former. Does he throw out any catchphrases that ether those around him?

I walked in to Apocalypse last night expecting a crap film after all the negativity, but...it was actually pretty good? I wasn't a huge fan of mystique or apocalypse, but everything else was pretty good.

Loved the end teaser too. Always wondered why that hadn't happened yet.

He is nowhere near as good as "I am as far beyone mutants as they are beyond you" "i am the rocks of the eternal shore crash against me and be broken" cartoon apocalypse imo. I think he had one funny line that I forget now, but otherwise he was pretty dour.

No he just looks bad and his motivations make no sense. I was hoping for at least a small monologue about the survival of the fittest but that doesn't really happen. If you're looking for something as glorious a Raul Julia in Street Fighter or Frank Langella in Masters of the Universe, you will be disappointed. I still liked the film though, it is very flawed but it is by no means a disaster and it's a lot of fun at times (Quicksilver steals the show again!).

"I am as far beyone mutants as they are beyond you" "i am the rocks of the eternal shore crash against me and be broken"

Oh man, I don't really like the X-Men cartoon but Apocalypse having a few lines of dialogs similar to this would have made him so much more interesting! They should have embraced his siliness and gone all the way with it.

yeah! i hope you will like it too when you go see it timumu!!! :D

This needs to be on the BluRay box as a review quote

he's not... like the cartoon apoc i think. but he is oscar isaac and he worked with what he had and he dids goods. i dont think he had a lot of catchphrases but he put in some really subtle but noticeable expressions with his face that made me smile :>

oh yes. this is definitely me too. *nodsnods*

Just want to reiterate what others have said. Expected mediocrity to bad, but it was extremely good. Some amazing spectacle and while Apoc is a bit one dimensional, Oscar Isaac does brilliantly with what he got to work with.

Just got out of it.

Had a lot of fun with the first half of the film before it all turned to shit. First half is legit good shit. Good holy fuck what a bad script that turned into though. Get Kinberg the fuck away from writing duties.

As the film went on longer and longer, it also seemed like the VFX teams were running out of budget lol. Some very iffy/rushed effects work going on.

John Ottman was MvP for this one. Great stuff. Intro sequence was hella cool too.

Just saw it. That was a waaaay better movie than Batman v Superman. It has its faults but I liked a lot of what it had to show too.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. bolded part so true. very enjoyable sounds *_____*

and yesh, top end was better than bottom end, i agree. felt like the wheels were barely hanging on by the last leg hahaha~

but the first half was really fun :D i personally really like charles in the first half, omg he was too lovable i cants *______*

Has the film been released early in certain territories or something? A lot of folks are seeing it.

It's out in a lot of countries already. I saw it yesterday on opening day in France. The same thing happened with Civil War, it opened almost 2 weeks here before it did in the US. I'm not complaining but it's a weird marketing strategy.

Watched it again a second time, this time with a bigger group of friends. One of my friends -- who isn't an X-Men follower, and has only seen DOFP -- said that he absolutely loved the film. He was crazy about Nightcrawler, about the introduction, about the religious undertones and even Apocalypse. He said he enjoyed it more than DOFP and had waaaay more fun with this one.

It makes sense too, he never saw Nightcrawler in the first one, making the character new to him, which is probably what we felt with X2. Again, this film probably doesn't offer anything "new" to see, but damn it, it's freaking fun. I could watch it a third time, no questions asked.

RT really could use a video tutorial.

The most Kinberg-y plot contrivance in DOFP, for my money, was that bit of Magneto fusing girders into Sentinels to reprogram them (???), does the script here get anywhere near that level of shitty?

Whenever I see that scene, I always think

Yeah I don't know why they didn't just have magneto give them a metal exoskeleton and use them like giant puppets during the final scene. Same diff and my eyes wouldn't have rolled as much.

That didn't bother me as much as Mystique not killing the President = mutants are good and thus the government will stop developing a weapon targeted specifically against mutants... even though Mystique showed how she could sneak in literally anywhere (she was with the President the whole time and no one noticed), Xavier showed that he can control anybody with the power of his mind, and Magneto just moved around a football stadium - a huge, fucking football stadium - just for show.

When you think about it, DoFP was full of stupid plot points. Yet the whole ride was great nevertheless thanks to characters relationships, setpieces and actors.

Yeah, I don't quite understand Mystique's positioning in the movie (from what I understand) as a mutant savior when her fame is from holding a gun to Richard Nixon but deciding not to pull the trigger after all.

Because Nixon is a shit. That she had the gall to threaten him makes her a hero to future generations lol

Besides it was more to sell the point that good mutants are out there to stop the bad ones

I love dofp. Despite its contrivances. Honestly this genre as a whole does not hold up to nitpicking.
