I hope this will lead to them getting rid of Jennifer Lawrence entirely or just having her do a cameo in the next movie.
I highly doubt this series is over but I'm really tired of her and it looks like she's all over this one.

I remember reading an interview during the run up to DOFP where Hugh Jackman basically admitted that they were trying to make JLaw the next hook to watch the X-men movies, as his time as Wolverine was nearing its end. Mystique being the leader here is more evidence of that, and it looks like it isn't working as intended.

Fox should just base the X-Men world off Deadpool going forward (not talking about the R rating just the overall feel and accuracy).

Wouldn't put too much stock into critics anymore, really. They failed on two huge accounts recently, in my opinion. BvS wasn't the disaster that it was made up to be, and nor was Civil War the masterpiece they all said it is.

I'm still excited about this as I've loved just about all X-Men films save for The Last Stand.

This is such a ridiculous statement. It's fine if you don't want to believe critics, you are certainly not obligated to do it, but you are definitely exaggerating.

By both RT and MC grading metrics, BvS was a 5/10 movie and CW was a 7.5/10. The "disaster" vs "masterpiece" picture is complete hyperbole and not representative of the actual critical reception, and this is coming from someone who thinks BvS is close to a disaster and very much a mess.

The mental flips to push mutants into the MCU would be fun to see atleast. Also whatever other movies that are pushed back because of that.

What a surprise, people finally got tired of Bryan Singer making the same goddamn movie he's made since 2001. Matthew Vaughn's busy with the Kingsman franchise, put the X-Men in Tim Miller's hands.

I still legitimately feel that people were just a little bit too easy on DoFP. The movie falls apart spectacularly once you think about it and Mystique just doesn't work as an anchor to it's plot considering how J-Law phones in the performance. The things I appreciated DoFP for the most were things that existed to undo the missteps the franchise had taken. If Apocalypse really is a let down of this caliber then it makes that movie look like all the more of a fluke.

35.
X2 is overrated as hell.

In fact, the best X-Men movie is First Class.

No lies detected here.

i'd be okay with this. at least their costumes would be fuckin on point. not the crap singer's been pushing for so long.

Plays more like an overblown episode of the 1990s cartoon series than anything else, and I wouldn't consider that a compliment.

Fuck this guy.

the last stand was not in anyway divisive. most people think it's shit

Some people enjoyed it, like myself, and some people thought it was shit.

Rottentomatoes & Audience Scores seem to think as much with results hovering at 58 and 62% respectively.

Deadpool was good.
BvS was bad.
Civil War was good.
Apocalypse is bad.

Are we seeing a pattern here? Suicide Squad has to be good right?

I liked it.

There's more "X-Men!" moments in this X-Men movie than there's probably been in all the previous mainline X-Men movies combined.

Can Evan Peters just get his own Quicksilver spin-off? The dude is amazing with the character and it would be an awesome show.
