Xb1/PS4 owners, are you happy with your purchase or regret it?

X1, I'm definitelly happy but still lack of SP games. Already finished AC4 and Ryse, the following SP game I'm getting is thief.
At first I thought games like BF4 justify the console. Curently I don't play it much because is a stressful game and I play after work. But I overall enjoy the console foe its non gaming features. Jumping from a game to an app in no time, using the console to watch netflix only by voice. At the end that is what I enjoy the most. Graphically, AC4 and Ryse looks gorgeous but its more for its art direction.
If I had to recomend, I would say, wait for better games to buy the console. Probably getting a PS4 when The Order is out.

I'm happy enough with my Xbone purchase. I assume I'll regret it when it inevitably drops in price by $100 some time before this summer.

Ps4 happy somewhat , X1 seriously regret. I'm losing interest in gaming in general and should have stuck with just one console this time.

Bought both and enjoy them thoroughly. Loving the Titanfall beta on my Xbox One, and loved playing through Outlast recently on my PS4 as well as regular games of Bf4.

Yeah buying both consoles makes no sense to me. PS4 & PC is an infinitely better combination. The Xbox One is becoming more pointless by the day. The two consoles are similar and when they aren't the PS4 exceeds it in every category that matters. I guess the One could be better at motion gaming, but they have shown no interest in making Kinect games.

How could you regret buying the best gaming console? A person regrets being able to play the latest and greatest games? Only if you are starving as a result of it. I am loving my Ps4 and would love an XB1 if I had one.

Got both of them. Very happy with them. I spend more time with my Xbox since I have it hooked up to TV, so its just more convenient to use. My PS4 will get more use once it gets exclusives that are good.

I'm mostly a PC gamer, but I bought a PS4 because I knew there would be some console exclusives that I'd want to play, especially on Playstation. I think if PS4 was my main platform I would be underwhelmed so far. I played Assassins and Resogun at launch, and still pop in NBA2k14 from time to time, but I knew when I bought the system that I would probably only ever play a handful of games on it. I'm happy with the purchase because I know that I'll be able to play Destiny, Infamous, and an expensive demo of Metal Gear this year. And I know in years to come I'll be able to play games from the developers that gave me The Last Of Us and Journey. To me that's enough, it's a much better value than the other console options.

Completely happy with my PS4. I finished all the launch games I was interested in (I would estimate 150 hours in total) and I'm looking forward to Infamous. Then again I have reasonable expectations when it comes to game releases for a new console :)

I'm loving my PS4.

I use remote play nearly every night with it from my bedroom to enjoy Outlast, Don't Starve, and AC4. I finally started Injustice on it and have been recording & streaming fights for old college friends.

Went PS4 only and just like my PS3 it's already become my bluray/netflix box. Regret the purchase.

Xbox One. Loving it.

*Good games that look much better than last gen (some of which aren't on other competing consoles)

*Fast game start-up with features such as kinect voice control, kinect IR blaster, and suspend/resume

*Good controller (better than 360 controller IMO even though it took time to get used to the bumpers)

*Always connected to Xbox Live ecosystem and Xbox Live friends no matter what I am doing and/or watching on my TV due to the system's HDMI In. TV channels, apps, and (digital) games can all be accessed simply by saying their name

*Runs very quiet; doesn't run hot; much more of a reliable system in comparison to the original Xbox 360

Also must say that TItanfall is CRACK. Been playing it all day. So, so, good. Great game to have during possible game droughts and/or right after playing a single player game.

Went PS4 only and I'm honestly pretty neutral about the whole thing. I had recently got into PC gaming earlier last year so the jump to next gen hasn't been as impressive as it would have been if I didn't have a powerful gaming PC to compare games to.

Playing most games at 1080p and 60fps for most of last year makes the 1080p of PS4 games just OK to me since they don't run as well or have as good AA as the PC games I've been playing.

KZ was pretty impressive looking but the game was pretty meh and I still haven't finished it. BF4 would have looked better and ran better on my PC but since I hate M&KB I use the PS4 as basically my BF4 with my console bros machine as I play nearly everything else on PC. I know eventually more games will come starting with Infamous but for right now outside of BF4, I game more on my PC since I have such a huge backlog on Steam. I don't really regret getting it but the lack of feature parity with the PS3 such as a native Youtube app and DLNA as well as promised features like suspend/resume make me pretty lukewarm on the thing right now.

I love my Xbox one it gets used everyday, I just wished I used my ps4 for more things than watching Playstation live streams.

Get DR3 seriously it's my favorite of the series and will last you a long time if you're a completionist. Killer Instinct too but the non gaming features are great especially SKYPE and instantly jumping into Netflix with voice commands.

PS4 is basically my game in bed console and I just love the headphone output for the controller. I can see it overtaking Xbox One though if MS doesn't keep money hatting creative exclusives like the ones I mentioned above. PS4 would probably be gathering dust if I hadn't missed the boat on Tomb Raider the first go round...great game beautiful port.

Basing my opinion off of exclusives...

I'm somewhat happy with my Xbox One. The game has platforming defining games from day one, and they're fun.

I am kind of unhappy with the PS4. I played through Knack, and I'm desperately struggling through Killzone.

Loving my PS4. Warfame is really good. The deeper I get into the mechanics the more fun I am having. It gets used nearly every day. I've not found myself wanting for something to do with it since launch. But, I tend to switch back and forth between the PC and PS4.

I find the controller on the PS4 absolutely sublime.

Edit: warfare to Warframe

XB1 since launch and PS4 waiting to be delivered here.

Honestly, would not regret either though I don't expect to play PS4 much in the coming months. Both systems will have their exclusives worth buying for. Whether I bought them now or waited, I'd still want both so I definitely don't regret either.

That said, I'd be VERY disappointed if I was a PS4 only owner right now. The reason I bought PS4 now is Resogun which is completely awesome. Other than that, I don't know what else I'd play much. I bought Killzone Shadowfall and I'll play through the single player there. I'll also rent Tomb Raider despite already beating the 360 version.

Microsoft simply has a MUCH better lineup of exclusives right now. Infamous is the only game in the next 6 months or so that I really want for PS4. Maybe Driveclub. Dead Rising 3 is awesome. Forza is awesome. Killer Instinct is awesome. Peggle 2 was awesome. Looking forward to Kinect Sports Rivals as the the demo was awesome. Ryse was pretty good. Last but not least, Titanfall is godly (at least the beta is).

Like I said originally though, I planned to get both eventually so I don't regret buying either.

XB1 and PS4 waiting to be delivered here.

I take it by your statement you mean "Already have an XB1, waiting for a PS4 to be delivered"?

Otherwise you seem to have been able to form your opinion on the XB1 exclusives without owning the system which while possible seems unlikely

I got my Xb1 and got KI for free from MS, then got Just Dance and AcIV from the Ubi give away. On top of that I bought Dr3 and Nfs. Then I got Powerstar golf. I still have some other games I could buy, but so far there is no need as I am nowhere close to beating most of those games.

Drought be damned.

I am very satisfied with my X1, and it can only get better with the pre-Titanfall update (I hope). I just wish I used it more, but that is the curse of having too many games and systems.

I wouldn't say I regret buying them but I play my ps3 more than both. I can't even remember the last time I played a game on the ps4 (the netflix app is so good though).

Love my ps4, but i'm back on my ps3 at the moment playing the last of us left behind along with dark souls and brothers. Waiting for second son to come out in few weeks. System looks great, runs smooth and everything seems to be pretty quick. Might get a wii u later on this year ,as for xbone- have no interest whatsoever, hope that somebody will buy xbox from ms as i will never support that company.

I regret nothing.

That being said, I haven't played my PS4 since November. Next time I use it will be for Ground Zeroes.

I got PS4, first time I ever change my console and it was because of a disc eject problem. That was out of the way.

Now I only have Knack!! The system just has no games that I like so far. My WiiU and 3DS are getting more of my ,albeit little, play time

It has been collecting dust for a month now? I don't even use it to play my Blurays, the PS3 is much faster in loading movies for some reason

Verdict - I don't regret buying it, I regret the timing. I should've waited more

Love my PS4. Between BF4, AC4, Killzone and Outlast i've been on a solid rotation since release day. Would be lying if i said i wasn't jonesing for something new but that's what Infamous is for.

Also - i've never had such a buttery smooth experience on any device. Just bought a Note10.1 tablet and it's amazing BUT - i wish i could make the screens move like my ps4 :P

(completely off topic... can anyone suggest any "gotta have" apps or themes or whatever for the Note10.1 ? I've got all my basics covered and i'm just playing around with it now. I'm sure some of you technophiles have to have some pretty fantastic advice for me. PMs would be madly appreciated.)

A simple question, are you happy with your purchase, or do you regret it,

Happy with my PS4

can you please explain why or why not?

So far I'm loving the visuals, the controller, and system OS, especially the speed of installing games. I've beat Killzone Shadow Fall, Battlefield 4, Contrast, Trine 2 and am loving the free PS+ games Resogun, Don't Starve and Outlast. Also, that price was a bargain. The system has incredible potential I expect a ton of great games to come.

And do you think the leap over current gen was enough to justify the systems existence?

Yup roughly 10 times the performance of the PS3's GPU so it's really a good time to upgrade.

All right now I'm confused as to why you responded to my post as it was meant for Jim2011. Whatever lol no biggie

Sorry, yes. That is correct. I've had an XB1 since launch. PS4 is arriving this week. I own (digitally) and beat all the games I mentioned. I've played a lot of Resogun at a friend's place and that's what convinced me to get PS4 now rather than later. I'll also buy Trine 2 since I hear the 3D is amazing.

Edit: Also, while by no means a killer app, Powerstar golf is a great game. It's my goto game for Local Multiplayer.

No worries. I just read your post and had to reread it as it seemed like you were saying both were on the way to you but I got it eventually.

I completely regret getting a PS4 at launch. I have absolutely nothing to play on it. The only game I bought was Killzone, and it was horrendous. I played Knack at a friend's house and it sucked. I have PS+, but I don't care for any of the games they offer for free. Resogun is neat for about a half hour. I'm still playing my PS3 a lot!

I wish I sold it for a profit when I got it.............

I'm 100% happy with my PS4 purchase. It's a great piece of hardware for the price, and PlayStation Plus truly is a fantastic entity of this world.

I love my PS4, but I overestimated the amount of time that I would be able to play it. With a wife, two little kids, my full time job, and the fact that I am going to school for my masters I only get to play on my portable devices. The Vita was and still is the only platform that I can really invest my time in.

I don't regret the PS4 purchase but I regret buying AC4 for it because I can never play it. I should've gotten it for Wii U instead because with Off TV play I would actually be able to play it. (Vita Remote play is pretty good but not quite good enough for me, at least after playing Wii U off TV play which basically feels like the game is running locally on the gamepad).

I hope you picked up Persona 4 Golden if you're into JRPG for the Vita.

Due to controller, I'll probably always have an Xbox as my main gaming console. To that point, it has delivered. I'm downloading the Titanfall beta currently on Xbox One.

My PS4, it is going to serve its purpose in the future with the exclusives that Sony releases. I haven't really played it much but I will once The Show drops in April.

I have a PC that destroys both of these put together but all three platforms serve their purposes.

Both consoles were day one purchases.

wasn't very happy at all with my XB1 purchase so have sold it and bought a Vita.

I bought into MS's all in one vision but (in the UK at least) it is so far from that it is pointless.

- The kinect voice controls only worked reliably when there was no one else in the room and no external noise (not easy living in a city!).
- TV passthrough was horrible (terrible 50Hz to 60Hz conversion for PAL TV, made sports a judderfest).
- App selection for UK is useless.
- Xbox music tied to a user not a family.
- Requires gold subscription for everything.
- and to be honest the games are just underwhelming (same old same old).

I won't be buying a PS4 for now either because frankly apart from higher resolutions and slightly more flash graphics neither machine really brings anything new to the table.

Enjoying the Vita a lot though! A real good selection of pick and play games suitable for a time limited person like myself!

Edit - forget to add, what the hell is up with Skype? Seems to have no way of knowing (despite the fact that kinect is staring at you) whether you are on or offline, makes Skype useless as my friends/family have no way of knowing whether its worth trying to Skype as my online status is completely fabricated. For that reason they never bothered and just used the phone like normal!

Went the PS4 route and I'm very happy with it. I'm a FIFA addict so that gets some serious play. Also enjoying KZ:SF and BF4 in multiplayer and I went through AC4 at a leisurely pace.

Looking forward to something story lead and single player soon though.

I've advanced to full regret.

I don't like shooters, what was I thinking? Last gen is just peaking for JRPGs, I held on to all my PS3/360 stuff, I just don't see myself playing next-gen much this year.

I don't regret purchasing my PS4 at all, but I would like to see more high quality next gen games available for the system. I'm playing PS3 & PC far more than PS4 right now though, and I do think 6 months to a year from now might have been a better time to purchase one as more new games should be available and older ones will be discounted. I'm still glad I got one, a launch edition, and at a discount. I'm very anxious for the FFARR beta even though I already have it on PS3 and PC.
