XBOne Version of NBA 2K14 Missing From Blowout Press Event, Confirmed Native 1080p/60

In the couple months I've been on this forum I've gone from being relatively excited to upgrade to an XB1 to being completely deflated and uninterested in keeping either of my next gen pre-orders anymore.
Excellent work GAF, I hate video games.

Just keep a clear head and don't jump on that train and you'll be fine. I read GAF everyday and still excited about my preorder.
In a hurry to get the systems so all this stuff can die down.

As someone who's buying PS4, I think there's plenty to be excited about for XB1. Controller looks fantastic, and launch lineup is without question superior with the loss of driveclub.

Could it be that the XB1 versions are running 4K/60fps and they don't show it so Sony is not embarrassed? hmmm...I might be onto something

If the game isn't really pushing either console then you probably won't see much if any difference (and it probably isn't pushing either console if its running at 60fps and 1080p).
There will probably be loads of multiplatform games like this next gen.

Yes that can be very true but I was under the impression this game might be somewhat graphically promising. Perhaps I read too much into it *shrug*

I'm a little confused on why there has to be a reason that the XB1 is 1080P/60... Maybe the programming isn't as demanding as you guys think. Kinda silly that people have to try to refute anything positive about the XB1...

Yeah, I have my Xbox One still ready to go. I know I will be smiling in a few weeks. :)

NBA 2K14 will run at native 1080p resolution at 60 frames-per-second on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The news was confirmed to IGN today by Visual Concepts executive vice president Jeff Thomas at a next-gen NBA 2K14 event in San Francisco.

NBA 2K14 will be a launch title for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is currently available for pre-order. For more on what’s new, be sure to read our review of the current-gen version.

Again, PS4 has 33 games by the end of the year. Driveclub meant little to nothing in the grand scheme of things. It'll strengthen the early 2014 lineup and be better for the delay.

It looks amazing but its still only a basketball game. I literaly was playing Fight Night Round 3 today on the 360, a launch game that still looks amazing even today, i couldn't believe it.

Lets just say I'm a touch sceptical when a publisher says, "oh yeah, it's the same on the Xbox One", but you can't actually play it mere weeks from launch......

...there's still plenty of stuff to be excited about on XB1. That didn't change anything.

Both consoles have a lot to be excited for to me.

If true, and both versions are identical, then they held back on PS4 or downgraded it, simple as that.

You realise that not every next gen game is going to be pushing both consoles hard don't you?, its only then when you will see some major differences. Christ.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but couldn't that also mean that they simply didn't bother to use any of the PS4's extra power? I mean, how far to sports games typically go to take advantage of hardware?

Come now, my good man. Be reasonable. Think it through. How can you possibly know that.

Let's go ahead and say the performance advantage was noticeable in development perhaps they chose to use the advantage elsewhere, other than resolution and frame rate. When we see the X1 version (when???) and compare it to the PS4 version. We'll see how they differ.

I wonder what sacrifices they made to get it to run in 1080p on Xbox1.

All games are half-court, one-on-one only. Instead of a ball, they shoot an untextured cube. And instead of a full crowd watching on, you get a few guys standing over by a chain link fence...

Just kidding. (Maybe? :) )

Not played an NBA game since the PS1 days, is this really a big issue, are they big sellers in the US?

I hope this is a joke.

I know I said that people would say that if multiplatform games end up looking the same on both consoles in that Need For Speed thread but I honestly didn't expect it pretty much word for word (lol). Oh man... ::sigh::

Considering that NBA 2K14 is the one of the best if not best looking next gen games I've seen, I'm going to remain skeptical on this one. It's pushing one thing or another, that's for sure.

Accelerate 2 sports cars, same weight, from 0-60 at the same rate of speed, one with 180 HP and the other with 120 HP. One was held back, simple as that.

This 100%!

I bought fight night champion recently from the XBL store and was floored by the graphics. It's smooth and there's little aliasing compared to all the other games I've played on the system. Makes you wonder what a next gen boxing game would look like.
