The difference being, Sony - just like Nintendo - built their status and fan base due to decades of creating good, memorable franchises by using their own studios (or having good relationships with 3rd party ones), not outright buying companies aka "talent".
Some of the greatest franchises in gaming history were born on their platforms (MGS, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, Castlevania, MegaMan etc etc), I mean, if you don't get or respect that then you're also a raging hypocrite.
MS are like the rich kids at school where they pay the "nerd kid" to have their homework/essays done, they have all the money in the world but they have absolutely zero in-house talent, that's why they haven't had any good, memorable exclusives in the past...20+ fucking years (OG Xbox).
You could argue that once upon a time they had Halo, Gears, the Ninja gaidens, JSRF, the Otogis and the Dead or Alives (if you're old enough to remember that) but nowadays...yeah, no one gives 2 fucks about Halo nor Gears anymore, they're basically a Forza company now.
It's gotten to the point where basically, their motto is "if you can't beat them, buy 'em outright", there's a difference between having or nurturing talent and buying it.
If you fault Sony and Nintendo for doing what MS has done all along, you're being a raging hypocrite.
