Xbox Game Pass has been absolutely incredible in 2025

It's why I'm selling my PS5 honestly and using that money to fund the switch 2. I have a gaming PC and Series S and X and the value I get with game pass is fucking retarded good. Sad to say but it's true, I didn't expect to main Xbox this gen but with Sonys rather shit plus service, price increases and abysmal first party games in the last year or so I just can't be bothered most days to turn on the damn system. Hell my Steamdeck gets more ❤️.

With Sony also releasing anything big on PC I don't feel I'm at risk of missing out.

Yep, I went PC and jumped ship from all consoles except Switch about 2 years ago. Zero regrets.

I mean I own Spider-Man, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, God of War 2018, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part I, The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Final Fantasy XVI, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Uncharted 4, Death Stranding, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, etc.. etc.. and they all look better and run better than they do on Playstation.

What the hell do I need a PS5 for?

still need Demon's Souls and Astro Bot though. Come on Sony!

I don't think that's crazy at all. They are one of the biggest third party publishers in the world.

GP has always been an amazing value IMO. Not to surprised by this. Unfortunately it wont do anything for them because no one wants GP other than people in the Xbox ecosystem. PC users barely even want to use it.

To be honest, If given the chance a lot of playstation users might even use gamepass after all.

The value of Gamepass this year is incredible. Really happy to see Xbox finally get it together. Only took 11 years.

I honestly don't understand how someone wouldn't sub to Gamepass.
11 years and the purchase of 2 big publishers.
Maybe several millions have different taste in games than yours. recently I borrowed the series X from my brother, now that I have it at home, I only want to play old games on it. The bethesda and activision games never appealed to me, well before MS bought them. so getting a Gamepass sub is not appealing. Looking at that list, I wouldn't consider those bangers.

No doubt in my mind. I would as a PS user it's to good of a deal to pass up on. If it wasn't for MS missing out on 3rd party games I love and PS exclusives I'd be on Xbox right now. I tried PC gaming but I just can't do it and ended up selling my GPU and placing the rest in my closet.

Yes it's an incredible renting service indeed. BUT if you want to own your games and not rent them .. well then it's not so good.
Well if you mean digitally own then it's actually still good because all games on gamepass have a discount if you'd like to own it & when the games are about to leave gamepass they get a even bigger discount.

Yes, Microsoft has had an excellent 2024 and 2025. Isn't this the time of year that NBA2K releases on GamePass? Really would enjoy that now that the playoffs are going.

Yeah, I am basically using XSX and PS5 mostly for BC and some kids stuff. PC is where it's at.

I just let my sub run out and won't be renewing. I just doesn't suit me. I've realised rather pay and keep the few games that I have time for. (PC player btw).

My younger self would have been all over it back in the day though no doubt.

I pretty much came to the same conclusion when I signed up for GP. It also made me not really give many games a chance because I didn't pay for them so I didn't care. If it was a game I spent money on though I'd make a real effort to give it a chance.

Hell, last year too. Hellblade, Indiana Jones, Stalker 2, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing some others. This year is definitely even crazier, though, and it isn't even summer yet.

Yeah, my PC essentially IS my PS5/everything else machine lol. Still have and will be keeping my Series X that I bought last year connected beside it, though. The stupid easy for stupid people use that it brings is too valuable for me.

The service so great it basically killed Microsofts console business.
Funniest thing is, their rental service doesn't have that many subscribers. Yet the console users are where their biggest subscriber numbers come from! Now just imagine if they made some of the games they've release this year as console exclusive like MANY of us Xbox console owners have wanted for so long... Might have actually sold a few consoles! Too bad Xbox owners generally don't purchase games though.

gamepass sucks since you are renting and don't own games.

Do you truly get a different experience from the games you play when you own them, vs playing on a subscription service?

This thread is about people who are playing games on the service. Not sure what your post has to do with the quality of games showing up in the past year.
