Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Rage is already an Xbox One Backward Compatibly title but now for the first time it can be purchased digitally

That was my prediction last year. Announce a new Splinter Cell and get Conviction/Blacklist for free, similar to the R6: Siege at Microsoft
s conference the year prior (Vegas 1 & 2 included for free). Maybe with Scorpio releasing this year, a new Splinter Cell game would be a perfect show piece for that sweet HDR lighting goodness :).

This is what my thoughts were. But yeah they could throw in Conviction as well.

It's been deathly quiet on the Splinter Cell front considering Blacklist came out in 2013...

At the end of the 360 lifecycle and before GWG went backward compatible, I got a lot of digital only 360 games that I have completely forgotten about and never touched. It's always a pleasant surprise when something like Hitman pops up that I didn't even know I had!

This gives me hope for other third party games that have or will become Backward compatible but weren't available digitally to show up in the marketplace. At the very least, put Mass Effect 2 and 3 up there.

They are available via EA access for "free", I'm sure you can buy them if you're not a sub.

Has there been any talk of XBLIGs getting added to Xbox One BC? There's bunch of great games only available there.
They said they would preserve the games when announced the sunset of the service, but nothing concrete then and never talked about it since.

The ideal would be them showing up as play anywhere games on the store.

Snagged the Hitman games when they went on sale the other week. Glad to see Absolution made it, hope the rest do, too.

I've got them all digitally on PS3, but the less I gotta deal with old systems these days, the better.

Never got around to playing Blood Money, so here's hoping.

I have no expectation for anything good dropping today.

Bigger WTF to having to browse to second page before finding a 360 exclusive.

I mean, come on, of the top-5 games we have four CoD games when in BC we already have:

Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty World at War
Call of Duty Black Ops

and natively on Xbox One we have Modern Warfare Remastered, Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinity Warfare. I like CoD, and having the Modern Warfare games on BC would be awesome, but that is just too much CoD. Meanwhile, Ninja Gaiden 2, Project Gotham Racing 3/4, Fable Anniversary, any Splinter Cell from the past generation or Crackdown I/II still haven't shown up.

People vote for what they remember and the signal to noise ratio is not good. They'll play it once or twice and never touch those games again once they have had their nostalgia hit.

The exclusives need to be preserved especially as old 360 are unreliable and the 360 is now out of production.
