Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Just give me Dragon's dogma dark arisen (But i will be more happy if Capcom remakes it xD)

If freaking Resident Evil: Revelations can get a port, I fail to see what the hold up is with Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen getting a 1080/60 current gen port.

Ill admit, I kinda don't want them to just make it BC, because ive already 100% the 360 version :)

Both Tekkens are already BC but do you know what Namco fighting games are not BC? SOULCALIBUR 4 AND 5!!!!!!!

I love Tekken alot but I also love SoulCalibur alot, so Namco if you could make my BC wish come true that would be great.

I have been hoping to see both SCIV and SCV become BC, since I bought my XB1. Loved them both.

All I'm saying is, regarding OG Xbox BC...

Is that this has always stood out as suspicious to me:

Microsoft announced its plans to re-release Phantom Dust in emulation for the Xbox One during its press conference at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. The re-release, to be developed by Code Mystics will use the original graphics and other assets updated for better resolution, and improve support for Xbox Live. The game will also run on Windows 10 as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This version is expected to be released in 2017. In an interview with Polygon following the announcement, Spencer said he had only learned of this remake three weeks prior, as the effort to craft it was led by Shannon Loftis, the head of publishing for Microsoft Studios. According to Spencer, Loftis was able to use internal funds to support its development, keeping it a secret outside of Microsoft Studios, and then revealed the trailer to Spencer prior to the Expo, noting that the game was almost done at that point. Spencer stated in January 2017 that they would like to have this released prior to the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2017, though Loftis would make the final call on the timing.

I mean, why sit on the port for an entire year if was almost ready back at E3 2016? I'll be the first to admit I don't much about development or porting, but I would imagine theres no way a port of an Original Xbox game takes this long. For reference, Voodoo Vince Remastered was announced in October 2016 and came out today. We also know that Code Mytics have worked on emulation/porting games with Microsoft before, as they are listed as co-developing Rare Replay (Grabbed by the Ghoulies, I'm guessing)

We still don't even have a date for Phantom Dust. Meanwhile, Phil Spencer did the conference last year wearing an OG Xbox t-shirt, and also changed his twitter logo to the original Xbox logo.

I honestly think there's more than just Phantom Dust on the way.

There is absolutely more coming beyond PD. I've been silently ruminating on the idea that they start bringing back OG Xbox titles and somehow simulate XBL as it used to be within the emulator with a handshake to verify existing XBLG status to allow for old games to come back with renewed vigor. I for one would welcome playing some old favorites, exactly how I remember them, like Halo 2, Mechassault, Ghost Recon and Unreal Tournament. I have fond memories of early XBL and would like to revisit them now that it's a decade and a half ago. Of course I'd prefer they sell these games on their digital store without gouging and that they somehow incorporate achievements, but beggars can't be choosers.

And with tweets from adam isgreen talking about technical wizardy really pushed the idea of OG BC.

Id absolutely die if they announced it. Juat wonder how much game prices would increase if they did , still got a lot of games to collect.

Didn't see this mentioned on last couple of pages so...Just randomly checked my downloadable games right now and Dragon Age: Origins is up on EA Access now! :D

Hope they do a DLC sale soon as well so I can add Return to Ostagar and the Warden's Keep one. Feel like those are kind of essential.

Edit: Wow been on there since April 10th. Was definitely out of the loop on this one.

Too Human won't happen. After Silicon Knights lost the lawsuit they had against Epic, the court ordered them to have all physical TH game discs destroyed. So there is little to no chance of it happening, can't see how or why Epic would ever allow it.

Which is why I fully believe MS should just reboot the IP. There's so much potential there that was wasted, IMO.

Imagine an Xbox Replay with all first party games of original Xbox, ported to Xbox One/Play Anywhere, with achievements and multiplayer.

FWIW, I did Google it, but I'm not super familiar with how the XB ecosystem works so I didn't really understand the results. The page for it on the XB store online shows it as a 360 title but I don't know enough about BC to know if there would be an additional indicator if it was available on XB1. There's an article from a couple years ago saying it was confirmed for BC. I found this list of titles that haven't been published from a little under a year ago so I suppose that's still valid. But I figure there are plenty in the know here so I thought there may have been some update since then. My read of the Google results was that it's not on BC yet, but I hoped some may be able to shed some light as to when/if it is still coming.

I don't believe its BC yet. I remember it being mentioned that it was coming and getting excited because i got it free with GWG a couple years ago, but nothing ever materialized from that.

Eurogamer usually stays relatively up to date with bc titles.
