Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

ok, so I've just found a really hidden version of Bioshock 2.

I'm seeing some more activity on Dark Souls.

Burnout Crash, Sam n Max season 1/2, Katamari , Left4Dead 2 and the Soul Calibur games seem to be getting a lot of love all of a sudden also.

I wonder how DS will perform, that game can get rough at times

Now I need to find a copy of Katamari!

Do you think we will see older call of duty games appear for BC?

How come "Everyone wants it, no one uses it"? A lot of people are using it right now and especially who play Gears games. I think the title should be changed.

It's a common remark about backwards compatibility that goes back ages, one which is actually fairly true. It's a fairly well-known fact that backwards compatibility has, historically at least, been a feature that very few people actually use regularly (particularly more than a couple years into the console cycle), despite the fact that it's often an extremely popular feature request for new hardware.

Also, it's a harmless joke in this context. Don't be silly.

It's just a joke. If you get upset by that then you'll get upset by an awful lot of OT titles...

I think BC is one of those things that loses importance as the years go by on a console. Sure, some people will always use it, but the majority give up on it once the actual consoles as its own large library of games.

I have always enjoyed using backwards compatability where available, ps1 on ps2, cube on wii, and with how many games there are from last gen that could come across to the xbox one I can see myself using it here for a long time.

the ps3/360 gen was so long there's so many games that could be placed into BC and played for years, it's worth it to me.

I have not used BC a lot on past systems, but for some reason I find myself using it a lot on XB1. I think it's because many 360 games are really very good and still relevant as games, and are graphically at least "good enough."

hold on to see what GwG and that it gets announced.
Seems quite expensive to find on disc

It's not worth paying over the odds for, unfun worst Katamari and half the content is DLC locked.

Also, there wasn't anything like XBLA in the past, there's a crazy amount of great games in there deserving of a new look.

Have they updated the Genesis Sonic games? There's a input delay last time I played them that made them unplayable for me. It's not my tv, isn't noticeable in any other device on my TV or Xbox One game. Many other BC games played fine.

I've been playing Sonic 3 and haven't noticed any issues, but it could just be that I'm not sensitive to it.

I just downloaded and tried it again. To me it's unplayable. On the same TV with my 360 it's fine. I still play the game on Genesis on a CRT so maybe I'm just *too* sensitive to it lol.

Am I stupid for hoping we will get PGR3 & 4 and red dead?
Phil tweeted this earlier today

I always wondered how those high-ranked persons were handling twitter interaction. Those accounts must get hundreds/thousands of questions a day, surely they can't read them all, don't they have better things to do ? Is it all an act and there is a PR agency answering those questions ? Do they just pick a few ones randomly during their coffee break ? Or have someone select a few relevant ones ?

I'd bet they pick a few ones randomly during coffee break, while on the bathroom, stuck in traffic..

I wouldn't say it's unplayable for me, but it's definitely annoying. I've also noticed some audio glitches in the original Sonic.

I've always wondered how they deal with the ungodly amount of bile they must receive. Similar to how devs react to some of the worst excesses of forum hyperbole, etc. Is interesting: I guess they walk the PR-company vs personal-investment line, and I don't envy them.

I think most gamers just want them for the single player campaign experience. That's what COD used to be all about, before COD4. After that, it still had the campaign, but the focus started to shift towards MP.
Sure, some want it for the campaign but I'm pretty sure the overwhelming reason people want to play the cod games is for their MP.

And those folks are going to be disappointed because the old MW games are really messed up
