Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Quick question...

I know that, while playing any XB1 title, you can choose to play your own music via the console's media player, correct? Is this option still enabled when a playing a game via backwards compatibility? I'd still like to play my own tunes when the mood strikes me.

I had no idea that was possible. I've only had my XB1 since December.

I'd love to play my own music during Forza 6.

My apologies for not clarifying this. There is currently no dedicated custom soundtrack feature via XB1's media player like the PS4 has. Rather, you have to use Snap as a workaround. I'm just trying to figure out if this still works when snapping to a backwards compatible game.

Sure it does.

An Xbox 360 game runs exactly like an Xbox One game. The console just doesn´t boot the game itself but boots the emulator which then loads the game.

But for your console this is a game like every other.

Hopefully not a silly question...

If I play Mass Effect 1 on my Xbox One, will I be able to import that save on my Xbox 360 for Mass Effect 2?

Very specific, but maybe one you all heard of this situation. I'll just play the series on my 360 if need be.

Yes, Xbox 360 cloud saves can be loaded on Xbox One, but to save in the cloud on 360 you have to be Gold.

So you just have to copy or move your save to the cloud storage.

Cool, thanks! In my dream world ME2 and 3 are BC by the time I finish 1. But I won't hold my breath.

I think most gamers just want them for the single player campaign experience. That's what COD used to be all about, before COD4. After that, it still had the campaign, but the focus started to shift towards MP.

CoD 4 campaign was amazing, it's just that the MP was just as good.

So today I've seen Jet Set Radio, which is a new one. Alan Wake and Red Dead have made an appearance again for the first time in months.

Please be true ... please ... I hope Alan Wake gets bundled with Quantum Break, it'd be awesome since I haven't played it.

Still no RDR I see... I'm happy in some ways because it means I don't have to buy an XB1 yet and hopefully it will be cheaper when (if?) it's backwards compatible, but at the same time I really want to play the game...

Need some help guys,

Plugged in Lego Star Wars (360), it required me to download an update to play the game. So far so good. Now I know my save progress wouldn't carry over (Since it is on my 360 HD), but now I can't save my progress on the xbone. It says I have to be logged into my gamer profile (But I am logged into my gamer profile on the Xbone). Is this a known issue and/or is there a fix?

I'd take a remaster because the game was pretty rough as far as I remember

I played the entire game on 360 and don't remember it being technically rough. Digital Foundry videos show pretty steady 30fps with slight dips into 28 on occasion (I just skimmed them pretty quickly). But an Alan Wake remaster would certainly bump up on my list of games to repurchase. One of my favorites from last-gen.

I'd take an AW remaster that toned down on the motion blur (at least I assume this was the cause of it)... I struggled to play that game due to motion sickness :(

It's one of my worries about QB, while it's one of the games I'm most excited for this year I fear I'm gonna get motion sick while playing it again. It's only ever happened to me on AW, ever other game I've played has been fine but with AW I struggled to play longer than 30 minute sessions without feeling awful and needing a break.

One of my favorites too. There is definitely some insane screen tearing in certain parts in the 360 though.

It appears that you aren't logged in your profile in the Xbone "virtual 360". Press snap and back together to open 360 guide and check if you are connect to 360 Xbox Live.

I like you.

He probably follows a bunch of Microsoft employees on Xbox Live and those employees aren't properly following the HIDE-YO-PRESENCE instructions that all employees have when testing new stuff :-P

Yea not worth posting sources or even remotely hinting, I'm surprised he even posts as much stuff as he does still.

I posted about an ms employee who I thought was testing BC games that he was playing stuff like red dead redemption, didn't post names or anything and sometime last month he made everything private, even stuff that makes no sense and doesn't reveal anything.

If you still want hints from EvB its not worth asking for sources because he'll just lose them.

Anyways, it's looking like we won't find out this months list today either.. seems like it's going to be next week.

As a PS4 owner, BC is the one xbone feature I'm truly jealous of. I play a lot of PS3 and PS2 games, and not having to juggle consoles would be awesome. However I'm probably not typical.

It is a great feature. Plus we can do some things the 360 couldn't, like take screenshots and videos.

I also own a PS4, and wish it had BC, but don't think it's possible.
