Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Do you know why Witcher 2 is backwards compatible then? Is the digital version different?

Since one disc is an install disc, you can wrap the two together as one "item" digitally. Lost Odyssey has no way to install, though, for instance.

I think ME3 shouldn't be an issue but ME2 will be. I think they handled installs different.

Kinda what Vince said above me but also it was re-released on a single disc later on (the silver edition) and the digital version on 360 wasn't available the same day the original disc version released, it was released months later once they had done work to it to get it working as a single "disc" download., A general rule of thumb at this point is that if there is a digital version of a multi-disc game available on the 360 store it's possible for it to become BC without Microsoft creating a general solution for all multi-disc games.

This long getting your Xbox 360 info sequence normal? Downloaded castlevania sotn and I've been stuck on this screen for awhile now

Did they fix the glitch where the game froze for like a second when you tag characters for the first time in a match? I played quite a bit when it first went live a month or two ago or whatever and that was the only problem I noticed.

Halo Wars runs perfectly outside of the odd b audio glitch. Haven't played anything else since last week!

i didnt get anything like that

will it save to my Xbox one if I don't migrate my Xbox 360 account like it's asking me too before I start the game ? I created this gamer tag today there is no reason it should be asking this

It's been a while since I played this, butI had a super quick look at Dark Souls, It looks better than I was expecting it to, especially considering it's Sub-HD resolution.

Frame rate appeared good (nothing was happening)

One of the other BC games did this but just let it load and it should be fine from there on.

Yeah I let it do its thing and it finally went to the start menu. I click on single player and then it asks if I want to download my profile from Xbox 360. Won't let me start the game without doing it. I let it try to migrate it and it says it can't connect to Xbox live at this time when I'm clearly online for the Xbox one and able to navigate freely on the store . Very weird ...

Gears 3 and Judgment forces me to download a piece of dlc (funny enough both are skins for Dom) as an update each time I boot it up what do I do?

Played an hour of Dark Souls and Teken. Both work really well. Played Teken two player and online, too. No problems encountered and good performance. (And yes, DS looks fantastic).

Is the DLC backwards compatible too? If it is how do I install it? thanks!

Try pressing Menu/Start/Hamburger button on the game and "Manage Game"
It might be listed off to the right-hand side under "Ready to Install."
I think it's different for different games, though.

Dark Souls seems to run perfectly fine. I just ran through a bit of Blighttown just to see how it was. I expected much worse, but I didn't think it was "good" either (if that makes sense). I didn't go past "the bridge", but from the bottom of the elevator I noticed it'd chug quite a bit.

Haven't tried DS yet but I was blown away by TTT2. I had it on 360 but it never really grabbed me which was disappointing as the original is special to me as one of the first games I got with my JP import PS2. This time around it has really got its teeth in and if anything seems better under emulation.

Exact same issue I am having.. don't know why either. Looked around a bit, I haven't seen a firm fix/answer.

You two from US? I can't see it in store on UK

I just checked, and I don't see it in the store (Canadian) for some reason. Weird, it was the first game they showed off for BC, you'd think it'd be in the store. You can still play it if you have the disc, or if you bought it digitally from the website or the 360.

Can't find a fix either online . Very weird and frustrating. Anyone with the same issue have any fix?

We’re aware that some of you are having issues attempting to play Xbox 360 titles through Xbox One Backward Compatibility, and we want you to know we’re working to provide a fix as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience in the meantime, Xbox members! We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

So far the game seems like 92% legit. Sometimes it feels even better than native and then some ghost input lag randomly screws you. There was slow down during boss fights depending on the effects. Logged out right before blighttown.

Last time I played it through it was on PS3, not 360 or PC. So I don't have a 1:1 baseline. I feel like I could play this too though and it looks slightly more crisp actually.

I have to say I'm not really loving Dark Souls 1. It's really clunky and slow. And I loved Dark Souls 2. Just rang the first bell btw

It's hard to go back after DS2 on XB1. The gargoyle fight was a pain in the ass here. Super chugged and input lag. It's been so long since I plat'd DS1 on PS3 that I can't remember if it's the game or BC (or both :P).

Double dipped on the digital versions of LEGO Batman and RDR. Hope to see more BC games hit the $5 range. Really don't want to deal with discs anymore.

Honestly I've just been buying every 360 game that interests me at $5 or less with the assumption that most are going to eventually hit BC. It's been paying off too, as almost every new set of games has included at least one that I got on sale over the last year of Deals with Gold.

What's the point of Xbox 360 games in the store when you can't use your MS account credit?

Feels half-assed currently. Basically like a web launcher.

Yea i feel like thats basically whats going on, the page that comes up looks identical when you redeem 360 games through the website, that being said its still better then nothing. Can't want to fire up Dark Souls once im done with LoTF, anybody try it out yet? and if so hows it running

Yes they use some "weird" solution for buying Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.

I still don´t understand why they not just add Xbox 360 games as regular Xbox One games to the Xbox One store and then sync purchases in the background between marketplace.xbox.com and store.xbox.com (So you could play a 360 game on an xbox 360 when you bought it on xbox one)

But I am no engeneer, they have for sure though about that and found a problem :-)

Yeah it's definitely better than nothing but they took the lazy approach instead of doing it the right way.

Yeah. It's terrible. I though we were finally getting account consolidation.

It's fine for claiming GwG, but for actually buying 360 games, it hasn't really improved anything. :/

I've never played Dark Souls before, but the performance is just awful in some spots. I'm in Undead Burg right now and some sections can get pretty bad, mostly in areas with four or more enemies.

From what I've seen, the performance is better on the most part compared to the 360 version and it doesn't have the egregious screentearing the 360 version had, but the framerate still isn't very good.

Yeah honestly aside from the frame drops I'm really happy with the performance. It's by no means unplayable, and it looks great. Hopefully some patches will clean up the framerate a bit.
