Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Im a first time Dark Souls player and it feels very fast and responsive. Which is great considering how bad the Gears games feel in terms of responsiveness. Its damn near nausea inducing.

Reach seems to be at least on par with the 360 version.

Gears titles are good, outside of scenes with some heavy action on screen

That chapter in Gears Judgement where you have to defend a beach was an exercise in frustration that I never want to play again. lol It ran so bad and was nearly impossible to beat.

naw, Reach is still a bit of a mess framerate-wise. It's playable, and it's better now than when it launched, but it isn't on par with the 360 version yet

I agree. Was playing the other day. Really jarring to go from solid 60 FPS in MCC and 30 FPS in Destiny to Reach.

Game would struggle with forge maps on 360 but on Xbox One it feels as though the frame rate can sit around 26 FPS at times.

i've not tried playing it for about a month or two but last time I played there was an update that helped with some of the laggy slowdown feeling while lots was going on, but it was still not perfect.

Borderlands runs pretty bad for me.

How so? Controls feel weird to me and there is a little input lag

sometimes the game ignores a button press when in combat, like the game skips a beat and if you press a button at that time it's flat out ignored, stopped me playing it.

So I have Dark Souls installed, but anytime I go to play it the game boots to the initial splashscreen then back to system dashboard and says "This game may not be playable yet". Not sure wth is going on.

I played a few games of Halo Wars and it ran fine. There was some slow down when there were a lot of units on the screen but I remember that from the original 360 playthrough.

I just got an Xbox One, renewed my gold membership. I'm trying to download Borderlands as part of the Games with Gold, but it's not showing up as free. What can I do here?

Did you try to "buy" it from the Xbox website? I remember that was the workaround before.

If anyone was having the same issue as I was with the Xbox one BC profile , just reinstall the games . They pushed out a fix last night and upon redownloading the game it went through

Not true.

Reach is still very bad. Gears games arent that great either. Played Gears 3 the last two days in Campaign and Horde. Still a lot of Input lag and framerate issues

I played up to the Taurus Demon in Dark Souls last night. As smooth as it could be, but one weird glitch.
Sometimes after I killed an enemy a little white circle would appear in the air (looked like a big polo mint). Happened 3 times.

That's not a glitch. It's something to do with online and miracles.

I still get random ghost input lag. Like it won't respond for atleast a second. Menus screen, inventory or game. Makes no difference. Maybe it is an artifact of normally occuring frame pacing issue under emulation.

Still amazing for a ppc emulation but it definitely isn't as smooth as it could be. Frame dips are happening on large bosses for me. I have died at least twice to that annoying input lag and once to frame tanking.

I've got a friend who's had his Xbox One for 2 years, and he had no idea the full store existed. He thought the store twist WAS the game store, and it was just really barebones. He just browses recent releases, or searches. He buys all his games there too, so it's not like he doesn't use the dashboard store.

So I tried Alan Wake yesterday, and this is what I got. Anyone else had something like this happen?

Uhh, I didn't know there was a full store. I've always been really confused by the store UI, so I tend to find out about a good game/deal, and then search it or something.

We've gone from black crush to white crush with this one!

I wonder if it has to do with black crush at all. I mean, I tried several settings on my tv but never found to set to rgb limited. However it's the only dayligth scene in which I found this sort of thing.

Has anyone else tried it?

I would really like for The Saboteur to become backward compatible. I just love that game. Blowing things up in Paris is super fun and I really like the main character.

Stupid semi-related question, but I'm planning on replacing my external hard drive with a bigger one, and I'd like to know how to move my stuff over to the new one. Is it just easier to redownload everything and pull saves from the cloud?

Moving from one drive to the other is painless. I did that a few months ago myself.

Did you play it from the beginning? The night parts aren't so bad. I just want to know if it's an issue with the game or with my TV settings.

I had to readjust my brightness settings in the beginning from all the way up when it was dark to back down when it was daytime like that. I haven't played much past that part though.

Oh, my RGB whatever setting was on standard already. I don't know if that's important or not.

Thanks, I have an Philips 40 5000 series Led TV, can't find anywhere how to set the RGB to limited (or standard), so I figured it had to do something with that.

On that particular scene however, adjusting brightness did nothing to reduce the bloom.

was the frame rate always this poor on DS? I assume it was, it's just been a while... otherwise it's working great for me. I just forget where to go after the Taurus Demon.

what the hell is a store "twist"? never heard that term.

It's really easy to just move them. Go to the Games and Apps section and then press the menu (hamburger) button on the game you want to move and select Manage Game. From there, just select move game an select your new hard drive. You'll get a progress bar that will show the percentage left as well.
