Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Stupid semi-related question, but I'm planning on replacing my external hard drive with a bigger one, and I'd like to know how to move my stuff over to the new one. Is it just easier to redownload everything and pull saves from the cloud?

Just plug in the second one into the XBox 1, format it and then copy the games over. After you are done you can remove the old drive.

All units!

I have been playing halo wars almost everyday since it was but on BC. A man can dream that he will get l4d2 next.

Saw on reddit that the game had updated for someone. Also some weirdness with the game going from unavailable to only in a bundle. I think it points to it maybe getting close to coming out.

Allright, is it a matter of hooking up the hard drives through a PC and moving things from there?
Can you even do this with a PC?
I haven't copied from external to external, but copying games from internal to external was pretty simple. I imagine it's just as simple with 2 externals. Just hamburger button, manage game, move then select destination (going from memory here)...
Pretty sure you can queue a bunch up too, so you don't have to wait for one to finish copying just to start the next one. Just queue a bunch up, check back later, queue a bunch more up, repeat.

No

Yep

If I buy a backwards compatible game via Xbone (such as Tekken) will I be able to play it on my 360 as well?

Yeah, it's pretty cool. My daughter took my 360 to college with her, so she has access to everything on the hard drive, plus any new games I get.

And I get access to all that have been made BC on my XB1. This how all gaming should work.

Will I get my XBL account banned for playing RDR while in offline mode? I haven't turned my xbox on since I found out the game wasn't supposed to be out, and right now I don't even have gold membership since I don't play anymore

Should I just delete it from my HDD? I've had this account for like 8+ years

No you're fine.

My RDR went away even though I only played offline. Tried it and it just doesn't work anymore.

Sucks because I was 6-7 hours in.

I can't stand Dark Souls 1 after getting into the series with DS2. The level design and player movement is just crap.

For me the worst thing was the framerate. After the smooth 60 of SOTS on X1 it is really hard for me to play this game with the variance in frames. Might have to wait for my new PC to play Dark Souls 3.

Just got a 1400 mb update for Halo Wars. Anyone know what this is?

Don't think they usually document BC updates, so we probably won't know until someone does an extensive comparison, but at that size it's probably an updated emulator. Which would in theory mean general emulation improvements (probably helps with the sound issues since performance is solid? Though likely not anything overly specific). Though that's actually like twice as big as the emulator. Hmm.

Making my way towards O&S. Blighttown and Darkroot Garden had a few frame rate dips but it never got to the point of unplayable. Although I can't summon players for some reason, it always fails. Except people can summon me and I can get invaded. Anybody else have this issue?

My L4D2 install, when launched, is now saying "wait for release date" instead of the usual "do you own this game?".

Please be close

Okay, got it, thanks.

Super glad they have put halo wars and dark souls in the bc catalog. Love playing casual matches in halo wars (it does have some slow down but only when a lot of stuff is happening so I don't mind) and dark souls has some frame rate problems but it's always been that way so I'm used to it. Games aren't perfect in performance but a blast to play so at the end of the day it's great to have it.

I've finished the main story of Alan Wake and that ending doesn't satisfy me completely. Will the two DLC episodes clear things up?

Hahaha. No.

Alan Wake's ending (and that of American Nightmare) is one of the main reasons people are so desperate for a sequel.

Still worth playing, though.

Seems like Left 4 Dead 2 is back again available to download.

Man i hope they patch the Gears games soon again. It just isnt fun with this Input Lag and Framerate issues

Is "Bundle Only" the same thing?

EDIT: Nvm, read the other posts.

"Bundle only" is usually for those that don't own it digitally, I still have it installed from when it was available (already owned it digitally) and I don't get the "do you own this?" error anymore, I get the generic one from when a game is not released yet but preloaded.

At this point I think they will be saving a few big name games like RDR for E3 ("Available today!"). In the meantime it'll be AA games and arcade releases.

First Assassins Creed 2 and now AC1. Im hoping for Assassins Creed Rouge as BC next. I think most people missed that game because it came out when the new console generation was already out.

Yes, that's the biggest adjustment for me too. Though I'm still really enjoying it.

I never managed to complete my Dark Souls game many moons ago, now I have access to it again with my save loaded to the cloud!

Well done MS, I am legit impressed. Didn't think I'd find use for BC, but this along with Gears Trilogy has me busy until Gears 4.

How does he know what's being tested? Is this credible? Because like some of those games should be in licensing hell before even considered tested
