Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Welp, there goes my glimmer of hope for Destiny being backwards compatible. I already have the game on the Xbox One but the community is different on the 360.

So I find BL via search and I can't download it because it's listed as bundle only.

What the hell...how can this so hard for MS to do properly? Jesus Christ...

I know, but something like this can simply be done by running the game in a dev environment in a faster way.

I mean if they would do such thing, they would have to do it for RDR Online too lmao... and that takes a LOT of time..

Home screen > middle tile that says GOLD on it > click borderlands. I searched borderlands and was able to find it too so I'm not sure why you're having problems.

Only problem is it's literally a portal to the 360 web store built into the console so you still need payment details.

I found it, it says bundle only but this explains it.

And, well, screw that. I thought it would be as simple as finding the game in the store and hitting install. What the hell is the point of allowing people to access the games through the X1 if they make you jump through so many hoops to download a free goddamn game..

Do you have a Free games and great offers GOLD box on your main home screen? Should be on right side.
Tabs vary from region to region.

The cost of entry there is free, Miles. If you don't want the game then don't bother giving them what they ask for. Add PayPal or whatever, but if that's your main complaint then it's a lame one.

It's unreasonable to ask for further payment details to download something I am already entitled to by virtue of having a paid subscription.

I agree with you and all but you still shouldn't need a payment method to get a free game.

When they said they were going to add 360 games to the XB1 marketplace, I thought they'd just be added as "xbox one" games if you get me, not a crappy portal to the web store. As it stands now you can't even use xbox credit to buy a 360 game which is all kinds of fucked up really, so I'm sure they'll change it at some point as well as updating the web store... I hope lol.
 
I noticed how, while installing my Dark Souls disc, the Artorias DLC showed up on the DL queue, despite me never owning it. Does that mean I get it for free?

Seems to be a running trend with some of these games. I got the BL dlc for free when I downloaded it earlier this month.

They have Skyrim listed on the Bethesda E3 press material, for info. No other info yet.

I am willing to bet money it's a remaster - they already said they ported it to Xbox One during Fallout 4 development, and they have agreement with Microsoft and Sony for modding support with their engine (hence mods in Fallout 4 coming to console shortly), so expect Skyrim mods on console.

If so, its all but guaranteed to be a remaster. No way they would talk about it being just BC.

I'm certain that there is a list of pre-paid debit cards which qualify as accepted on the XBL storefront for this somewhere on the internet. Paying in the minimum to enter one on the site under your account would save you future aggravation and allow you plenty of 'free' GwG titles.

it isn't a trend at all if it's just one game. Borderlands has all of the DLC because at the time they released it the means to add DLC separately hadn't been added to the BC program yet. It's in there now, though, and just about any game that had DLC sells it to you.

I can't speak for Dark Souls but that isn't a common thing if the DLC is included

I tried Tekken Unlimited yesterday and amazingly, it runs just as well on X1 as it does on 360. Online matches went just as smoothly; a few were completely lagless. I love it. It's amazing to have Tekken on X1 already!

I really wish the thread title would be changed to something more accurate; it seems that many of us are using it.

The list i posted is a copy&paste from the guy Oshvam99 who works for a spanish xbox website.He puts that list of games under the title called NEW games added to bc.After all the reactions i send him a xbox message about his fonts and how he discovered these games and he answer me the list of games is from a guy who is a tester of games and say to me there are 9 persons more testing bc games.Those games are being tested right now and doesn't mean it will be come official bc games.That's all.

So,i'm guilty for copy and paste a news from a spanish website to neogaf? Yes,but i'm not who created that list and assume is real blame the author of the news.I only moved the news from there to here.

The problem is you didn't include any info above, just a list of titles coming to BC with no source. It's not a big deal, but definitely worth considering the sources when posting - there's been a lot of duff info. Also some good (I'm looking at EvB, as once I realised what he was doing I shut up questioning it as he had a legit technique).

I don't know if this guy have a good tracking record or his informations are right or not, for the moment be cautious about the list of games i post from there.We will see(or not) if this guy is correct or not with his informations in the future,the option of these games will not become backward compatible because not all games tested will be officially bc maybe save him for the moment.
 
Probably a dumb question but is SC2 HD a good port? Hankering for more fighting games and if it is good will pick it up tonight?

its fine. sort of a hybrid of PAL PS2 version with new changes. if you play casually theres no reason to not play this version and if you play competitively... well theres also no reason not to play this version. it's a little different here and there, but the game is so old people who really love it don't care.
 
OK, seems like they are back on track with releasing 10-15 games a month.

The 2-3 weeks with no releases were kind of "scary" :D

It it continues this way I am fine with it and we get ~150 new games a year.

Can't answer for SC2 yet, but Teken Tag Tournament 2 (which is BC) is excellent. We've spent a significant amount of time on it through BC this week.
 
really happy that SC2HD and TT2 made it over. love fighters but to me 3D>2D free, all day, everyday. not-so-patiently awaiting VF.
