Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Installed Halo Wars yesterday and it seamlessly downloaded my old save from 2010 onto my Xbox One.

I am loving this backwards compatibility. Now I just have to go ahead and beat the game after putting it on hiatus all these years.

I thought I owned the Activision version of Doom 1, but when BC hit and it let me download the Bethesda version, I just assumed I was wrong. Whatever, I was going to buy Wolf3D again for $5 at some point, but now I guess I don't have to.

I guess they just did some sort of license transfer thing or whatever. I know I bought the games before the were taken off (2009 I'm pretty sure) and I have the Bethesda versions now too (RIP red cross medpacks in Doom 1...).

Strange that the two versions of Wolfenstein have separate achievement lists.

Also strange, Wolf3d still does not show up as "already purchased" in the Xbox 360 marketplace. So maybe they didn't some sort of license transfer...

Killer Instinct Classic just appeared in my list to install today.

I wonder if they just fixed it to where it's easier to find, because I think for a while you had to go digging just to find it. I'm pretty sure I had to do a Bing search once when I wanted to play it even though I had it installed, but now it's its own separate thing.

Looks like it's a pretty old version of Dark Souls, or am I mistaken? There's the infamous "You defeated" screen when you kill a boss.

I have Wolfenstein 3D with all unlocked achievements and it only appears as one game in my list. I'm going to check it again later today just in case.

I just realised yesterday that you can play online 360 BC games on a X1 using a silver account in a console that has a primary Gold account.
Tonight I'm going to try if I can play online 360 games between with my gold account (on 360) and my silver account (on X1).

I think I'm one of like 5 people that can't stand any of the L4D games, haha.

I welcome every new BC game either way though.

I've tried to get into them, but just can't. L4D is balanced for 4 players, and you get braindead AI if you try to play with less. So since I don't like to play with randoms, if I can't find 3 friends to play with I get a bad experience.

When playing on through BC you are, for all intents and purposes, playing on a completely normal Xbox 360. So you can play online with anyone whether they're playing on a real 360 or an emulated one, with full party support and everything.

This. Games run like they are running on a standard 360 and all the functions that a 360 could do while gaming can be done with the BC. But on top of all that, you still have all the Xbox One functions still active, so screenshots, Game DVR all still are running and working while playing 360 games.

This is a stupid fucking question and I feel stupid for not knowing...

Remember on 360 if you hit the big X jewel button in the center of the controller it popped up the little quick menu (with messages, friends, settings etc...)

How do you do that on Xbone? If you hit the center button this time it takes you to the Xbone home screen and minimizes your current game.

Push the middle X button thing twice I believe, quickly. Wish they never changed that.

Start + Select (or Hamburger Button + Two Squares Button).

This is correct. Press both simultaneously.

Edit: lol, didn't realize there was a next page.

I really wish they would say something about Radiant Silvergun. That is the number one game I want to be BC now that SotN is.

I think we all have games we wish they'd talk about. RS would be nice, as would Nier, Ninja Gaiden II, Catherine and many others.

They can't address them all at once. Give'em time :)
