Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

So, I tried yesterday and you can play online between a gold account on 360 and a silver account on X1. I played yesterday Gears 3 with my brother, he was using my gold account on my 360 and I was using his silver account on my X1 (which has my gold account as principal). Party chat and game chat doesn't work but we can use skype. We are going to use the hell o out of this.

Wow...BC team is on a tear after a quiet period. I'm sure we'll see them go quiet again for awhile before giving us more at some point, though.

Dead Space today, Left 4 Dead 2 yesterday, Halo Wars/Soul Calibur 2/King of Fighters 98'. And last week we got Dark Souls/Tekken Tag Tournament and Dark Void/Grid2/Assassins Creed 1.

Lots of Xbox 360 games these past 2 weeks!

Worth noting almost every game on the inital announcement image is supported now:

Is Left 4 Dead 2 performance any better compared to the leak? Had to pull one off of eBay since my old one cracked in the center. (Not to mentional the classic missing texture issue)

Still have every DLC but Cold Stream. (Game died by the time Microsoft decided to approve it)

I'm so happy with the 360 BC titles. Having a blast with Borderlands and replaying stuff like Deus EX: HR, Halo Wars, etc. has been more than awesome.

What I don't get is, how they left the game section on the Xbox 360 without having that installed/uninstalled thing we have on the Xbox One. I literally don't know my full list of games I have ever purchased. I guess I'll find out when they become available on Xbox One.

Xbox One is built for digital purchases, 360 was not.

You can also use this URL on Xbox.com - https://account.xbox.com/en-US/MyGames/Xbox360?FilterBy=Game&Page=1 It will even show you which ones are backwards compatible..

Late Edit: Of note, this Url doesn't seem to output all my games. For example, I have purchased the original BioShock digitally, but it doesn't show up in this URL. If I go to my Purchase History page or the Bioshock page, it shows that I have purchased it. Strange.

well, they sold games online from day one so you'd think they'd have some of that stuff figured out

On the console, you can go into your purchase history for the logged in account and initiate redownloads from there. Games, demos, and DLC were all mixed in, if I remember right. Unfortunately, that's as far as they ever got. It's always been pretty easy from the web though.

It was obvious they weren't fully dedicated to it though. Digital versions of retail games were always released later than the physical versions, and usually for the original retail price. Early games took 2-3 years to show up on digital, and late games took 3-6 months at least. It was infuriating trying to go digital when it meant waiting months or years for the game to be released, and still paying full price. Oh, and they never said anything about when the digital version was coming out. All you got was, on the day, Major Nelson would tweet out "3 year old game is now available on Games on Demand". Thanks, that would have been nice... you know, 3 years ago.

From the same guy i posted his "news":

Worms 2 Armageddon now have storefront and it's close to release and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attak it's now bc.

Well I'm currently trying to finish dark souls 2 on 360, so it would be nice if I could finish it on XB1... Pretty sure that's not gonna happen though since they already have a version of DS2 on XB1.

Does the Gears of War 2 All Fronts Collections dlc work on One? I've never played the Road to Ruin dlc and thought it was about time..

Played Gears of War 3 last night for the first time since the code was delivered from the GOW:UE, what a change.

I could actually play it without it dropping into the low 20s at every encounter. It still drops of course, but the update I installed really smoothed things out.

Don't think I have any one specific title I need on BC anymore. Most of my biggest games are already on Xbox One via remaster and/or BC. I guess the BioShock games, though I'd also like to get the rest of the Lego games on there sometime soon. I play through those with my girlfriend, and since we've moved over to Xbox One for the new releases, it would be nice to have the older titles we're finally getting around to (like Batman) running on the same platform, for convenience's sake.
