Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Probably. I installed it a week ago and I'm always online. It's not something that's interfering with the gameplay (so far ;)), but like I said it's noticeable. The biggest one I had was in the Desperation mission when the airstrike begun. I know Gears 1 isn't as advanced technologically, but I managed to complete the BC version without any visible slowdowns.

I took each of them for a whirl a couple of days ago, and 2 does perform way worse than the others for me as well. It's very odd.

I'll have to step back into today and take a break from the Orange box and see if I notice any new drops. The more UE3 games they get to 100% BC the better as it will help other titles get released quicker.

I did a replay of 2 on insane with the new patch and didn't have any significant issues; there were a couple momentary hitches here and there but I couldn't recall if the 360 version also had those stutters in large scale encounters too.

Gears 3 is definitely a much smoother experience than 2 though. Only problem I had on that was the crashing error from a couple weeks back that was corrected with a patch.

I beat Gears of War 3 on Xbone. There was one area that stuttered, that lasted for a minute basically since you progress out of that area. Then there were about 3 or 4 areas where the framerate really takes a hit. These moments don't last long and I really enjoyed the game.

What are the odds of Rise of the Tomb raider becoming a BC title? I'd rather play the 360 version than the Bone version due to the input lag.

Well.. uhh.. it being BC will add some input lag to it already. But probably 0. Already a next gen version, not published by MS, etc.

Only way I see it going BC is if they give it away GWG next year before tomb raider 3 comes out.

$30 at gamestop

It has always hovered around $30 used there. The print run wasn't super high until they did a platinum hits reprint and that was very small and hard to find as well.

Wait, how do you make gifs?

sorry that was a little vague on the details.

Once you record your clip using your xbox one, on the laptop/pc goto xboxdvr.com, type your gamertag and it will bring up videos or photos that you have saved. It's possible to do all this on your xbone but I not tried it yet.

On the video front select your chosen game clip and their should be an option to make it into a gif. It will take you directly to imgur or you could goto your own favourite gif making site. Select the section you want to turn into a gif and then select create.

Thats good to know. I just started the game on xbox one to catch up prior to gears 4!

I don't understand why I can't get Guwange on the Xbox One even though I owned the damn game since its release. Its never on my list, I tried xbox.com and set it to "Download to Xbox 360" (doesn't work) and tried the store on the Xbox One UI. Nothing. I don't get it. I always had the same Gamertag as well. Strange.

If you use the marketplace link from this site, does it say that you own the game?

Maybe there are 2 different versions out there ??

If it says you own it then contact support, maybe they can help you.

The best thing about backwards compatibility is the option to take screenshots. I can finally create some RDR images in the artstyle that can be found during loading screens.

Also finished Gears 3 this morning and yeah, other than a very few small bits, the performance was fucking solid

bravo MS engineers!

Nice. I am hopefully finishing up GOW UE so will be jumping into 2, then 3 on BC. Nice to hear they are both running pretty good at this point.

Strange people are having issues with Guwange. I was able to install it as soon as I saw the announcement. I guess I was a little late, though.

Was it ever delisted? Actually, if it says "already purchased" then that's not an issue.

Did Guwange ever have more than one publisher? I have Gauntlet and Streets of Rage 2, but my license for both are from a different publisher, so they are not BC. :( Hopefully the issue with Guwange is not the same.

Are you sure? Streets of Rage has always been published by SEGA, but only the SVG Collection is BC, apart from a brief period earlier this year when that was swapped out for the standalone game, so it clearly works under emulation, despite being a completely different developer.

I finally took the time and went and voted for all of the games I have left that aren't yet backwards compatible. I noticed that Hexic HD was listed as backwards compatible, but I hadn't marked it on my list. It never showed up on my "ready to install" list, so I went and found it on the store and it was free.

Just wanted to mention in case anyone else missed it.

Likely you got it on your hard drive when you bought your original 360. That didn't add it to your account though. You had to actually "buy" it on the site. I had that same issue.

I wonder if the Guwange thing has anything to do with when the game was purchased, I bought the game the day it came out and can't access it.

Currently in chat with Xbox support. You can check which day you bought the game here.

https://live.xbox.com/en-US/download/history I think your screen must be in windowed mode in order to scroll all the way back to this games release of 11/10/2010.

I'm downloading GUWANGE!!!

On Xbox One it said it was going to charge me $9.99 + tax but after making the purchase there was no charge, since I already had the game.

Both me and Xbox Support were surprised at this finding(they were just going to refund me the $9.99 after I rebought the game but there was no charge).

EDIT: looks like downloading Guwange is all it did, game won't launch... back to Xbox Support...

There is a service outage right now. I can't play any games that I bought online at the moment. It could be that.
