Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

I don't think we're gonna get anything BC related.
At this point my money is on the only worthwhile news coming from the 343 stream. I would think for the 15th anniversary of Halo. There would at least be a tease for Halo 6. It's about time for it.

Yeah you aren't getting a tease for Halo 6 lol. If anything maybe a peek at new content for 5.

I bought codes for Gears 2 & 3 from the Buy&Sell thread, but I can't get them activated here in Germany :( Have tried VPN, changing console region, nothing works. Any fellow Kraut here successfully activated these?

i have the same problem. my guess is region based ip lock due to our "jugendschutz".

Yeah, and it's strange because I remember that Gears 3 was sold in stores here.

If I knew for sure disc copies from the UK work on the One through the BC I'd just import them from England, because I have basically no more ideas on how to get the codes running. I'm afraid I might not even be able to install them from disc.

OG Xbox Live was shut down because it held Microsoft back from evolving and improving the service.

It's dead, jim.

Any engineer half their worth could figure out a solution to bring back the old Xbox Live without impeding the new one (its easy-- make it live on it's own with it's own friend list)

Are any owners of Dead Space Ignition having issues with it showing up on Xbox One? I own it, but it's not showing up in Ready to install, and the listing for Ignition in the Xbox One store isn't showing me as having owned it. I got it back in the day through preordering Dead Space 2, if that makes a difference.

Has anyone elses bc games been running really bad? I have only tried gears 2 and its really janky atm. It was fine last week but i feel like the system update has slowed it down or somethimg. Anyone else experience these probs?

If at first you don't succeed, hard reset the console. ...or so I'm told.

Mine is there, I'm not sure if they were any different, I bought it from the marketplace at the time

I got an Xbox One last week. I'm loving it. Backwards compatibility is a great thing. First thing I did was get EA Access. Going to play the Mass Effect games again.

Spencer said there was more work to be done of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey to make them available digitally...whatever that entails is unknown

They were never available before so any licensing issues that were agreed on with the developers and themselves would need to be renegotiated to accommodate that.

Thus far my only major complaint with BC is that not all the games are sold digitally. Both Bethesda and EA seems to get along well with MS recently, why can't I buy Rage, Doom 3 BFG Edition, and Mass Effect 2/3 digitally?

It used to be a constraint of any game involving more than one disc. Some games later figured it out like Deus Ex I believe. Some publishers just didn't go back to add it, yet they did make them BC. Mass effect 2/3 (and 1) are on EA Access which is stranger.
