Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

MW3 is one of the few games I still have in disc so if it were to be BC, that'd be great. Never finished the campaign and maybe the MP could scratch the itch and I wouldn't have to buy IW and MWR

RDR, and ME 1/2/3 all work no disc so far.

RDR was available as a GOD release, so if it can be bougth digitally without the need of a disc. ME1 was also available as a GOD release and can be bought and played without the disc. ME2 and ME3 were never available as GOD and do require the disc, but if you have EA Access then you can play all three ME games digitally without a disc, regardless if there was ever a GOD version or not.

Thinking about it, if that isn't a mistake and MW3 is gonna be Backward Comp soon, then that means they skipped MW2. I would think then that MW2 is gonna end up being Remade like MW1 and sold with Sledgehammers COD next year?

MW2 is like one of the only ones in the series I really haven't played the campaign, and after playing through both MW1, Infinite Warfare and World at War recently I'm on a COD high on would love to play it on my XB1. Would be great to play it soon, but if it gets the treatment that MW1 Remastered got, I'd be down to wait til next year. MW1 Remastered looked amazing compared to the original.

I think that's a pretty good guess.

I didn't buy any of these digitally, just an FYI - like I said, all disc-based and installed games. I am part of a promotional EA Access membership for a month (New One S), but that wouldn't cover RDR obviously.

Does anybody else have a profile on your Xbox One that may have bought the game digitally at one point?

Apologise if i'm coming off as annoying i just recently bought an xbone and I'm very confused. Firstly, not even half of the backwards compatible games listed are appearing in my store, and secondly the backwards compatible games that are in black friday sale aren't appearing to be on sale for me.

I don't know if it's my xbox or if it's the Canadian store. For example dark souls is listed as being backwards compatible but it's not on my xbox one

Had you already bought the digital 360 version of Dark Souls previously? If yes, then it should appear in your "Ready to Install" section.

If you are looking to purchase it, then go to the store and search for "Dark Souls". That's one thing about the Xbox store, you have to actually use the search function to find things sometimes as they don't always show up when browsing the lists.

You can always buy it on Xbox.com

So hey, is it normal that my Xbox One has refused to eject a disc twice (two different discs)

Sorry to hijack :v But this is getting mildly frustrating lol. The first time it gave me the normal beep for when I try to eject a disc, but now it's giving me a sound that evokes like, "fuck you, I ain't ejecting"

MW3 campaign was decent, but nowhere near as good as COD4's and MW2's. The multiplayer in MW3 had terrible maps and was the start of IW's terrible map streak, HOWEVER I was good at the game (aka good at abusing scorestreaks in domination) so I didn't mind too much.

Sale price are only for Gold members, atm I believe. Sale for everyone starts on the 22nd. That may be your issue.

And the backward compat games only appear in your library if you bought them digitally. If you own them on disk, then you need to insert the disk. Kind of obvious, but thought I would point it out just in case.

MW3's campaign is worth it for that last level alone, imo.

Also, the DLC maps were ace. Shame there's probably no one playing them anymore. I wish Activision would just release a CoD comprised of various DLC maps from the past games. There are a lot of good maps mixed in throughout the series that will unfortunately be forgotten.

They should really do heavy discounts on the DLC cause at 14.99 it's crazy expensive. Then Again I really just want a discount on World At War DLC, Only get 1 zombie map without it and it's pretty damn pricey.

Activision make all old 360 COD DLC 5$ Each!

yep, same as when Ghosts DLC almost redeemed that games absolutely terrible launch maps

Modern Warfare 3 gets a bad wrap for no actual reason. It's a great game. Campaign, Multiplayer and Spec Ops are all really really good.

The campaign wasn't good imo. There was a huge drop in quality compared to MW2. They had a lot of different locations all across the world in this game, but they didn't do jack shit with them. I was baffled by how much they had dumbed down the stealth sections and just how boring many of the levels played out. There wasn't much left of the old IW and it showed big time.

But I mean I still have the disc so I certainly wouldn't mind it becoming BC.

Yeah, those map packs are expensive as hell for old content not a lot of people are playing.

Same with Advanced Warfare.

Raven did the DLC maps for those games, right? Activision should give them their own CoD game; they already make the best maps.

I think it compares more favourably to MW1, and suffers from following MW2. There are still some very cool set pieces in 3 for sure, just nothing on the scale of... well, most of 2 to be honest. I think the opening to 3 is pretty spectacular especially.

I assume you guys may have listened already but Major Nelson released a podcast today which had Bill Stillwell from the Backwards Compatibility team and he gets into some of the behind the scenes details of the BC feature. I've posted a thread about it here if you want to check it out!
