Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Can't you rechange your region? Iirc you can do it multiple times a year
 
Now that Skate 3 has been added, would it be fairly easy or probable for the first 2 Skate games to make it to BC? Or is that not how it works?

You can change your 360 account region every 3 months

Raven did the DLC maps for those games, right? Activision should give them their own CoD game; they already make the best maps.

Certain Affinity (which is headed by the former lead of Halo 2's multiplayer) did most of the Ghosts DLC maps. Halo 2 has some of my favourite maps ever, so when I found out that they did a lot of the Ghosts DLC maps then it all made sense. Activision definitely knew that the DLC maps were way better than the base maps, because it was the only time (that I know of) that they had free trial periods to try out the DLC maps. that's how they sold me, I was ready to drop the game quick.

Also my xbl sub is running out in a few days and i wont have the money to resub until early december.

Will my xb b/c games disappear with silver?

Don't know why, but this comment made me think of the original X1 plan of wanting an online check in but you could install a disc game and never have to use the disc again. I'm sure it would have had some problems, but it's kind of cool that you would have been able to buy physical, but play games like they were digital purchases.

Not trying to start anything, but I started this gen thinking I would only buy physical, but because of convenience I've been buying all my titles now digitally. Wish my disc based games could be digital as well, but also like that I have physical copies on hand.
 
all the daytona bc demand in this thread made me pop in daytona usa 2001 in my dc for the first time in probably 10years... totally forgot how much fun the series was. yes, count me in, day1 digital purchase. l guess online leaderboards would still be available?
 
Started World at War after picking it up in the sale.

Surprised at how well my enjoyment of old school COD campaigns has held up. Infact I wonder if the direction the series has gone in over the last few entries will see me enjoy this even more.. and I remember enjoying WaW a lot the first time round.

Dipped into the multiplayer just to see what the hell is going on there. It was laggy as shit but there were just short of 3000 people playing and I found a full game of TDM in seconds. Pretty damn crazy for such an old game.

Black Ops 1 is even more popular. Its always in the top 40 off the most played games haha.
 
I bought Oblivion Digital. I already own it on Steam and a physical disc version, but if I'm ever gonna replay it I might as well play the version with controller support. Now let's see when it gets added.

Another week, another two days of new BC games. MW3 and Oblivion are likely candidates for big games due to there incorrect listings as being compatible last week and both have games running on similar engines already backwards compatible. Though with Bill saying the "ranks" come first I still really want Black Ops 2 however I think this one might be taking awhile probably because they can't get it running at a steady framerate.

Yes, in some cases. The Xbox One S has a GPU overclock that can effect both native and emulated games with increased framerate. You won't notice it unless you ran the games side by side but there is indeed improvements in some games. Digital Foundry did a whole video about it I recommend watching.

I cannot play any backwards compatible games on the Xbox One S. I cannot download profile no matter if I am wired or wireless. It says "cannot connect" and asks me to test my connection. Am I missing something?

I use my elite and new style controller on xb360 bc games and both work. Its just what you prefer to use :)
 
Great news.

Does that simultaneously mean any bought versions of that game will be BC live at the same time? I don't like relying on subscription services for games I think I'll play well into the future. Will download the GWG version but definitely something to keep an eye on digital sales for to just buy it.

The new design has textured grips and bluetooth, otherwise it is the same, your Elite is still leagues better.
