Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Great news.

Does that simultaneously mean any bought versions of that game will be BC live at the same time? I don't like relying on subscription services for games I think I'll play well into the future. Will download the GWG version but definitely something to keep an eye on digital sales for to just buy it.

Xbox 360 GwG titles are gifted to you. You own them outright.

It's not like on PS3/PS4/XBO where they are tied to your sub.

I cannot play any backwards compatible games on the Xbox One S. I cannot download profile no matter if I am wired or wireless. It says "cannot connect" and asks me to test my connection. Am I missing something?

I had this issue as well. The only way I was able to get around was using Rare Replay that I thankfully had a copy of. For some reason the way that game downloads your Xbox 360 profile works versus the standard way of loading a BC game and downloading the profile.

I constantly got the can not connect while downloading my 360 profile when I wanted to play RDR. I read online about the Rare Replay method and it worked fine then I was able to play any BC game.

Oh shit I don't have many physical games anymore but I still have my copy of Pure.. Underrated game! Gonna pop that sucker in when I get home.

Interesting that another game with an Xbox One port managed to hit BC. This is great for the owners of that specific version, but I think the majority of players would rather see games that cannot be played on the system.

We usually get two a day, so really, it's a bonus I guess lol.

I would argue the opposite and say that the whole point of BC is to have the ability to play games you already own on the new system without buying them. I'd say the majority of people like the program because they get to carry their games with them.

Sure it helps being able to play games you missed, but most games people are asking for are games that they own

I know you probably didn't mean it this way but one of the big perks of BC is not paying for games you already own, you're kinda going against that and telling them to pony up for the XB1 port :P

I replayed Mass Effect 3 once it came out with EA Access. First time getting through all the DLCs too. The Citadel DLC was fantastic. Great moments that highlight the great moments from the series and characters. Some of the DLC weapons are OP and made the Insane campaign easier.

I have Rare Replay (digital only), which sees all of my achievements and such, but it does not help me. Within the Xbox Online portion of Rare Replay, it sees everything. During the beginning of a game loading, where is says "Getting your Xbox 360 info", this screen lasts for 5 seconds before fading and moving into the game. My connection seems fine, or at least good enough to play Xbox One games online.

I do hope Mega Man 9 and 10 will be BC in the future. I don't want to hook up a 360 to play these in the future. and would be great next to the anniversary edition.

...Pure? Is it on Games on Demand on X360? Will buy it so much if so, but since Disney was involved I'm expecting a disc-only scenario :(

By that logic though, Tron Evolution wouldn't have gone GwG surely?

I'm convinced I bought Pure digitally on sale, and traded in my disk copy.

I will have to check when I get home.

Same thing in Mass Effect 2.

I had originally bought the DLC weapons after completing the game (for some odd reason), so I never got to see how unbalanced they were back then. Started up a new soldier class playthrough on a harder difficulty. The Mattock Assault Rifle and Geth Plasma Shotgun makes the game a cakewalk, even without upgrades.

In particular the Geth Plasma Shotgun, that thing just rips through enemies like their armor and shields don't mean a thing.

I had it a lot when connected wirelessly in the past. How I solve it? Changing my router :-(

Good point, but I do remember Disney being assy with digital stuff. Hopefully they made it available, but it seems to be disc-only if NavNucST3 is to be believed.

They should've been in that edition in the first place.

9 is the best. Well, it's close to 2, IMO. No I don't like 3 as much as... others do.

I prefer 4 to 3.

Wait, there are others of us who like 4? I thought I was the only one. I mean it has a robot toad where his only attack is to wiggle his butt, causing it to rain! Game is second only to Mega Man 2, which is the clear top dog though (for me).

Also, yes, would love 9 & 10 come to backwards compatibility.

Yeah I squeezed through ME2 Insane with base game weapons. ME3 I recall having a hard time my initial attempt and gave up. Giving my squadmates the Mattock, and using the Particle Rifle for myself since ammo is a bit scarce made every encounter manageable. If I died, it was due to rushing through an area and not having good positioning. Particle Rifle with any ammo mod (especially fire) was just a melting beam laser. Not sure if it's related to the DLC or importing my character again, but I was flush with cash and bought all the mods/upgrades I wanted.

I really enjoyed playing with Javik the DLC character since he added new scenes/lines to missions. Leviathan was cool for the backstory, Omega kinda sucked because of the structure of the missions. The best part of all, doing the extra missions with the lowered galactic war readiness from the extended cut made it so I didn't have to scour the galaxy for those random items or play the throw-in multiplayer. Overall, I am really impressed with how the Vault is handled and it was worth revisiting.

You need the disc for Pure, unless you purchased it digitally when it was available.

And it was available before:

It's just delisted now.

Is this the first time a game made it to BC that was available digitally but is already delisted?

Hmm. Could it possibly be a firewall issue on your router? Routers will sometimes block certain ports but not others. Baconcow, if you know what you are doing with your router (and it's not locked down by your Internet provider), you could assign your Xbox One's IP address to the DMZ on your router which would bypass the firewall completely. Then you could try a BC game and see what happens.

I think Babel Rising was the first
