Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Why would they do that when they want you to buy the new remaster? This makes no sense at all.

Yessssssss I've been waiting for the Bioshock games. Held out on the remaster hoping it'd go BC.

I might even pick up the remaster sooner rather than later now just to show support.

I check this thread every time it's bumped for the same 3 games:

WWE All Star
Mark of the Ninja
Dragons Dogma

C'mon Microsoft....

Its not happening, imo.

I don't think we are getting any 7th-gen releases with BC support from Capcom. At best, we might get a "remaster" sometime soon like how they have been doing with the RE titles.

I'd imagine that will also mean Bioshock 2 Multiplayer is now available on Xbox One.

Wow, you're right! Hadn't even thought about that, but I may dip into it tonight just for old time's sake.
The multiplayer wasn't great by any means, but it was fun to wander around Rapture.

Finally! I'll be able to play Bioshock 1 in 5.1 audio since 2k or Blind Squirrel refuse to fix the Collection on Xbox One.

Agreed. It felt like they were backing away from that one, pulling the Coming Soon from their website and then the release of the Collection. Glad to have them. I'd imagine that will also mean Bioshock 2 Multiplayer is now available on Xbox One.

Seriously, it hilarious that it looks like the BC versions of Bioshock collection will be the best versions to play aside from PC

Man, what I wouldn't give to be able to play Warhammer 40k: Space Marine on my Xbone

I doubt we'll ever get backwards compatible though.

If they plan on price gouging us with a remaster, then it does make sense. Well to them at least. I have slowly over the past couple of years grown to dislike remasters.
It's been over two years since AC Rogue, I highly doubt a remaster is happening now. If it was gonna happen, it would've happened this year when mainline AC took a year off.

That doesn't mean it won't happen.. But I just don't see it.

Wouldn't surprise me if they're planning to release a 'Murica collection with 3, 4, and Rogue in 2018.

Mainline AC is back next year though. I can't see them releasing a remaster and a new AC so close together.

Syndicate: 2015
Ezio collection: 2016
Empire: 2017
Murica collection: 2018

Again, it wouldn't surprise me.

Is the DLC for BioShock Infinite included in the base download for free or something? Because it's 12.9GB. Would be nice because I loaned my GOTY disc to a friend ages ago and never bothered to get it back.

The GOTY had the season pass on disc so you could give yourself the licenses for the digital downloads - it's how I have the DLC on my Xbone. Really interested in the framerate since it's unlocked and might actually run better than the remaster even. Can't test since I have a ton of games updating right now.

I don't think so as I've got the vanilla digital game, the season pass, both episodes of Burial at Sea (in three parts), Comstock's Shotgun, and Clash in the Clouds. That's six total DLC pieces in addition to the game download.

I know, but like I said, I don't have the disc right now.

Borderlands 1 comes with all the DLC preinstalled for free on Xbox One, but will still show any purchased DLC in your ready to install list, and you can still install them.

I checked and the install is *nearly* the same size as the base game plus all DLC on 360, but not quite. In theory it should be around 600MB more if it had everything, but I don't know why else it would be over 6GB larger than the base game.

Forza Horizon is like 10GB, a bit bigger than the base game but it is only the base game so it's not like it hasn't happened before.

I think you're right about everything being packed together while still having separate DLC installations. Never noticed that before.

condamned 2 man, come on

I have mixed feelings about Condemned 2. The original is one of my fav games from last gen but 2 kind of went off the deep end. I haven't played it in many years. Wasn't the forensic stuff better in 2 though? I'd like to replay it eventually.

Well I can see AC and WD being bi-yearly so that could work. But I think holiday 2018 is a bit too far out, at that point I don't see many caring about AC rogue but I could be wrong. I could see them trying that though.

Edit: Oh shit, you said 2018 at first aswell. Sorry I thought you said 2017 and meant AC: Collection 2 + Empire releasing the same year.

Bioshock is a great surprise!! Hope it runs well!

Bought all 3 on sale over the last year. Gonna be nice to play them with (hopefully) solid framerate

Hah, I wasn't meaning to draw ire with my quickly fired-off statement. I apologize! I'm just impressed at how pro-consumer the Bioshock move is, that's all.

It's probably also a sign that sales for the Collection have already tailed off/tanked, so it doesn't matter if they go BC now. A similar thing happened around the release of Doom 3 BFG on Steam.

Games I'd still like BC. (*) indicates game has X1 version but not BC

No plans for AC3 or AC Rogue at this stage

The fuck Ubisoft? No AC Rogue makes zero sense.
Well fuck... My copy of Rogue was pretty cheap but maybe I shouldn't have picked it up, since it just sits here collecting dust. Goddamnit, Ubisoft.

I hope we get it as well. I played part of Space Marine well before I got into the 40K universe. Now I am absolutely in love with everything 40K and want to go back to Space Marine. They need to make it happen.

everything is better in 2.... First ine was good for a launch title, now it is super repeatative.

I'll be testing Bioshock Infinite tonight - compare the 360 and Xbone in real time. Can't do any proper analysis but I can make some guesses at how much of a boost Infinite got.
