Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

I posted this in the XBLA thread but gonna post it here as well since I can't create new threads yet. Just noticed Bastion is free til Jan 1st. It's a great game so if you don't have it already go scoop it up and give it a shot.

It's a free upgrade to XB1 if you already owned it on 360. For everyone else it's still £12 (or £10 on 360 if new owners are eligible for the upgrade).

Are you sure? Because I never owned it on 360 but it shows up free for me.

Edit: That may be it. I just noticed that my nephews account is still signed in on my X1 at same time as mine. He possibly owns the 360 one which might be why it showed free for me. If that's it sorry about the false alarm everyone.

Well, after reading so many comments over the last few months about how good Bully was, I bought it yesterday. You better be right GAF!

Not particularly interested in Clannad, but is this confirmed? I know the BC emu is region free and you can play (disc) games from other regions, but this Clannad is was region locked. I mean, this is not a game which was release worldwide but I choose to buy the Japanese or Asian version because of.... reasons (?), this game never made it outside Japan.
I hope it works, this would open a possibility to play lots of games Japan exclusive or games like No More Heroes Paradise in the future
Yep it will work since as you said, Xbox One is region free so any BC game is treated as region free, so you can play games like CLANNAD even if it never released in the West.

This also works with stackable games. Bully had a Japanese variant for example that you can import and play with a seperate achievement list if you so desire. Back in the 360 days you needed a Japanese Cbox to do this but XB1 made it so much better

Thank you very much for your response. I'll follow closely future bc releases to see if there are any other 'Japan only' games I might be interested on. You gave me hope, sir!

Excited to find Burnout Paradise was coming, mostly because Big Surf Island isn't on PC....

...except it is via mods. Something I learned yesterday. No such luck for these other console-exclusive DLC:

Force Unleashed 2: Endor
Dead Space 2: Severed
Prince of Persia: Epilogue

So buying things from within a BC game recognises my Xbox 1 credit but trying to buy a BC game does not?

The 360's console store (including the limited version available within the Guide for DLC) lets you use account credit.

The 360 web store doesn't let you use credit, however (ever since the changeover to real currency, IIRC). And buying BC games on an XB1 is just a fancy frontend on top of the 360 web store (which is why it needs the extra step to show the price, and has a different confirm purchase popup).

I can't download Burnout, weird because I downloaded all 360 games before, dunno if it's region thing or if someone is having the same issue?

Anybody asking about Clannad - yes it will work on any Xbox One. The emulator is region free so you can even stack games like Gears of War 2 for more achievements - if No More Heroes goes BC I'm buying it so fast. Even if it's a bad port anyway.

I had this problem, though I get it regularly because my account region doesn't match my location. But I tried changing the store location and using a VPN, no dice. Had to get a mate back home to log into my account and claim it, then I could download it on my Xbox One.

I had that problem as some of the 360 games are unavailable in my region. I used a VPN to connect the the xbox.com store and brought it there.

Yeah seems like region stuff, too bad I always wanted to try it.

Does anyone know if there's somewhere on Xbox.com where you can view the Games with Gold titles that you've downloaded? The store is trying to charge me for the 360 version of Bioshock Infinite when I know for a fact that I downloaded it from GWG in March last year...

https://live.xbox.com/en-US/download/history

It says "download history" but it's really purchase history. I haven't had my 360 on in months and it shows all the stuff I've been buying through the website.

Other than FH (which has now gone from the store) how many other racing games with licensed vehicles come through BC?
