Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Was it really worth finding out what BC games were coming 2 days ahead of schedule? I'd rather just find out from M Nelson myself on the day.

I like knowing about the BC games a bit in advance, but it's ekim's occasional leak on Xbox sales that I find most valuable. Having a heads up on what might go on sale can help people plan their purchasing better.

Even a warning on what's likely going BC gives you an opportunity to buy physical 360 games before prices get inflated after the official announcement.

So what these BC leaks are indicative of are nothing to sneeze at. Why turn down a source that might help you be a savvier consumer?

Whats the chances of Ace Combat 6 and Assault Horizons coming to BC before AC 7 comes out??

I wouldn't be surprised if either (or both) end up becoming pre-order bonuses eventually. I would think it's pretty safe to assume they'll be BC soonish.

Would love that, especially since Scalebound isn't gonna be a thing anymore.

New achievement list to 100% and 60FPS would guarantee a purchase from me.

I really hope that's capcom's strategy with ALL of their 7th gen titles cause their support of BC so far has been abysmal:

No Street Fighter (2HD, 3S:Online, Vanilla IV, Super IV)
No Resident Evil (Revelations 1, Raccoon City)
No Lost Planet (1, 2, or 3)
No Dragons Dogma
No Remember Me
No DMC (HD Collection)
No Darkstalkers Resurrection

And that's all stuff that afaik, have no currently announced or released remasters that prevent them from seeing a release (although Ultra IV on PS4 might explain the absence of the IV series), even though that shouldn't be that big of a deal anyway, since Bioshock didn't seem to have a problem.

Yep capcom BC support has been really sad

AC6 would need to be relisted then, I'm guessing it was pulled for the same reason as Afterburner; licenses.

I want GTA 4 so I can record some "swing of death" videos :D

That is the game I am most anticipating, really. Playing GTA IV with smooth 30fps would be absolutely great! Would be awesome if they could fix those memory issues with the roads but that is unlikely I guess.

There might be an issue with GTA IV, in that when you install Episodes from Liberty City the Xbox recognizes it as stand alone GTA IV. They would need to work out a fix for both titles.

Not sure what to hope for today. Anything from my collection would be nice. Actually - I have UT3 sitting in my 360 games and I'd love to play bot matches on that again on Xbone. Or I could just play the PC version. How about some PGR then?

ah see I stopped buying discs 4 years ago. So that doesn't affect me.

Us digital fools pay full MSRP all the time!

*excluding sales obviously, but after a bc announcement future sale prices are far less impressive than before the announcement.

Honestly, it's either I pre-order a game or pick one up on sale/price cut. I never pick games at full price anymore unless I'm pre-ordering.

Digital all they way though! (except for the damn multi-disc games that haven't been brough over yet *glares at ME2&3, DS 2&3, FFXIII, and Battlefield 3).

Three of those multidisc games are included with EA Access though, so kind of available digitally. Best value in gaming imo.

Oh I don't buy at full price. If a game is announced BC and put back to full price, I just don't buy it. If I already bought it on sale, cool. If not, I just wait for a sale. Unless it's my favorite game, I can always wait - there are way too many current games to play.

I'm all digital now too, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to be made more cognizant by a harmless heads up, or that I don't want people who do buy discs to have a larger window to buy things more reasonably priced before markups happen.

I don't get what this pushback is, like it's useless. I think people are also forgetting that ekim has given heads up on upcoming sales on the marketplace, which has at least helped me plan my purchasing better.

Do people feel like these biweekly BC announcements are like mini E3s getting spoiled or something? Do y'all object to StoreParser highlighting the weekly sales (I know it's not a 1:1 comparison) before Major Nelson does a post too?

Well this is happening I guess
