Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

I thought Borderlands 2 was already BC, so I was surprised to see it appear on my "ready to install" list. Cool, another entry to my backlog. :D
AC:Rogue must be the only AC game I don't own, but I may look into it... once I'm finished with the other bazillion AC games I own. :P

Yep, and unlike on 360, most of the BC games actually work really well, some even better than they originally did. On 360 it oftentimes felt like they just added original Xbox games to the list if it would even boot up, but that's not the case here. I've played a lot of 360 BC games on One (well, about 20) and tried even more, and almost all of them work splendidly.

And having them work on Scorpio and hopefully later systems is exactly what I want. I like buying into an ecosystem with a long term view, where my games follow me from system to system. 360 was my favorite console last generation and had the One been the same price as PS4, with no Kinect and full BC, I'm sure I would have moved over easily, but when they reset the ecosystem all bets are off.

Yep, definitely. I mean just look at the laundry list of issues in the notes:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

I keep almost rebuying the two Buffy games to play them again since I'm sure they'll never get BC even if the original Xbox games start getting BC.

The one by The Collective is pretty good even if it runs with a little more slowdown on 360. Chaos Bleeds has a lot more fanservice, but doesn't play anywhere near as well.

Im gonna keep posting this every so often so I can just will it to happen.

Please someone at Xbox do it!

I highly doubt this will happen for the same reasons they don't make new NCAA Football games.

When games are released as BC, they are effectively republished as a new release. I doubt EA would want to pay all those people again.

Discs in 2017 LUL

The local electronics shop here had Mafia III and Watch Dogs 2 dirt cheap (like half the Xbox One prices when they were on sale), so I picked up my first physical copies in a year or two. I love and prefer digital but I can't help myself when a fairly new game I'm semi-interested in is that cheap.

Every.single.time. I enter this thread in the hopes of seeing Ninja Gaiden B&2 BC but nope.

I don't mind waiting just hope it's on their to-do list.

This is just a quick view through the games already backwards compatible and I know I'm not 100% correct with this but these are games that either feature likenesses, intellectual property or music that does not belong to the game developer or publisher. Not challenging you but why are they considered to be new releases when we already have the game from a prior console?

I can't believe I missed the news that they made Rogue backwards compatible. Finally! I've been sitting on this copy for a year and a half now, waiting for the news. I've felt a bit incomplete, having never played/finished it (I'll never go back and pick up where I left off in 3, god that game was abysmal. But I needed to play Rogue to get caught up, franchise-wise).
I've got hundreds and hundreds of 360 games, so any retail release that they add to the list is great news for me. The only thing left on my list of must-have-BC titles is Fable Anniversary. Stick of Truth got added a while ago, Rogue recently, and hopefully Fable soon. Then they will have gotten to the big games that came out when most people switched over to the Xbone. BlOps 2 needs to hurry up and drop as well so I can finish playing that.

Splinter Cell Blacklist doesn't look that bad on the Xbox 360. Tearing and all that. It would look and run great on the Xbox One. It's now my most wanted title to become bc.

I'll do a 100%-stealth-no-kills run when it gets bc.

Is there any way to get the original Forza Horizon digitally? I've ignored the series because I rarely play driving games unless they're pure arcade racers, but after being blown away by the demo of FH3, I bought it immediately and have played roughly 20 hours this weekend. Now I'd like to play the previous games in the series as well and if there's no other way I'll just get it physically, but I'd prefer digital if possible.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you missed the "last hurrah" for its digital availability when they had it on Gold a few months back. There's some licensing thing where it's no longer available digitally. Physical works just fine, if it's really down to just playing it.

If you can find somewhere that still has codes available, I believe those will still work, but otherwise you're out of luck, as it was delisted shortly after being added to the BC list.

There is one of those shady keyseller sites that still have keys, but I don't really trust them. Guess physical is the way to go then. Thanks for the help, guys :)

It's gone. They even had a dlc sale that ended before they announced the delisting, which was pretty lame of them.

You'll have to play on a disc at this point. There's lots of achievements that you can't get now with the marketplace down and not being able to get dlc.

If you have gold make sure you get the GWG's, Forza Horizon 1 was GWG a few weeks before it was delisted.

Even if you don't normally like them.. you never know if you ever want to play them.

Not much use now obviously but it might come in handy with another game in the future

I'm switching between Gold and Plus depending on which system I expect to use most that month. Missed when Forza Horizon was on gold, but never really expected to miss it. It was just another driving game..

I've been playing AC Rogue and man it is a blast. I am pretty sure I 100%'d Black Flag; I just loved it so much. Being able to sail around again to the tune of sea shanties while looting enemy ships and harpooning killer whales... What a fun time. Here's hoping that Ubisoft goes back to the pirate theme again at some point, even if it is a new IP and not an AC game.
I know I said I would never return to AC3 in my last post but I got to thinking about it and when I beat Rogue, that will be 8 AC games I have beaten. I think I'll have to, even if I don't want to. Maybe I'll just run through the story and skip all the sidequests and collecting, though that will feel extremely wrong to do so.

Is NHL Hitz backwards compatible? Just was talking with the guys at work about it. Never played it but they said it was stupid fun and now im interested.

Ghost Recon Wildlands made me want to play Future Soldier, which got me thinking: why aren't any of the GR games BC?

Would be a good week to do it with WIldlands releasing

There was never a 360 version of that game. Was there?
