Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Ghost Recon Wildlands made me want to play Future Soldier, which got me thinking: why aren't any of the GR games BC?

They were supposed to be. In the very first promo material for back compat they showed the covers for GRAW 1 & 2, but here we are nearly 2 years after the fact and we are still waiting for them.

I was under the assumption there was but I could be totally wrong. Thought he said they made one for it but maybe he meant original xbox. Sounds fun though

NHL Hitz was a really fun game, but it was for OG Xbox, not 360. It might have been BC for 360, so maybe that's why he remembered playing it on 360?

Chromehounds is one of my favorite games ever. I dont even bother putting it on my most wanted list though since I figure there is no chance at all. They shut down the servers so I dont see how they could make it BC now.

It needs the Phanton Dust treatment.

I missed it the first around, and it kills me.

Biggest thing missing from BC right now is one of the greatest stealth games of all time:

But seriously where's Max Payne 3?
DR2 Case Zero, Case West, Cars 2, Meet the robinsons are/were all marked as BC on the feedback site earlier.

Really hope that's the case.

Yeah, It would be swell if those two weren't locked on the 360 hardware as the rest of the series got moved over at least.

After playing though Hitman: Absolution lately (got all the achievements except the two where you need those things..."friends" I think they're called), I'd really like it if Blood Money came over too. I played it a tiny bit when I first got my 360, but never got far.

That'd be great. Played the original Dead Rising on 360 for the first time a couple years ago and am feeling the itch to dive into the remaster of 2 but would want to play Case Zero first.

Was just playing the original Saints Row on 360 a few days ago, that game could use BC. The game has an unlocked FPS mode that causes screen tearing, could possibly run great on XB1...

I thought the delay was to make them bc when the game launches on Xbox one (GRW). But it seems that isn't the case. Btw is there any upcoming third party game that has the bc game(s) mentioned on box art?

So we've basically gome down to once a week?? Or it seems if Microsoft has anything else remotely going on the same day (last week Halo Wars, this week Game Pass) we get nothing.

Am i a bad person for wanting Full Auto to become BC?

Cerainly not, it's very high on my most wanted list for BC. It's probably the most fun I had on 360 last gen. I also wish they would make it available digitally in the process, and I'd gladly double dip.
It would also be interesting to see if the emulation could improve the framerate.

I guess they believe the 6 titles from Thursday was enough. :/

So for February we got

Lego Indiana Jones
GTA IV
Hitman absolution
Borderlands 2
AC Rogue
Gyromancer
TKOF 2002
Space invaders IG
Moon driver

Finally got my AC Rogue disk yesterday and popped it in..

It's a lot of fun, it really is AC4.5.

I wish they'd given it the Xbox One upgrade that AC4 got, but at this point I'm just happy to finally get to play it.

Yep, I'm having a blast with it. As soon as I got to start sailing and harpooned my first great white, all of the love I have for Black Flag came flooding back. I don't find myself missing any of the improvements from Unity or Syndicate either. I'm glad I am finally getting to play it, but kind of bummed that I waited so long to get to it. I could have hooked up my 360 at any time.

Its really starting to look like microsoft think they have done enough and are cutting back support for the program.

it's been a while, but I just clocked Splinter Cell Blacklist and a couple more JRPGs show up on my travels.
Star Ocean and Magna Carta 2 along with FF13 and then the remaining COD games

Nothing? Oh dear have they decided they have done enough and cut back support for 2017?

I don't think this level of negativity is warranted yet. Maybe they simply don't have the right mix of games that have passed testing yet, or (more likely) they didn't want to distract from their Game Pass announcement earlier today. They like to release smaller games alongside more popular ones or in clusters so maybe the stars just don't align every Tuesday or Thursday to have the right mix to make an announcement. I'm sure they coordinate any third-party releases with those publishers as well.

Not if you consider how many no show release Tue/Thurs dates we had in February compared to previous months. Also, coincides with the start of the new year.

Too early? let's see if this a trend for March as well.

I think it's kind of hard to judge considering we don't really know how much time it takes to get a game optimized for BC. Releases seem really erratic. I'd hold off until we go multiple weeks without seeing anything before considering that support is waning.

There is work that goes into it, it's not a flip of a switch (as we've seen with incremental improvements in already-released titles). Considering that GWG and the new Game Pass rely on having BC titles available, I'd say there's no risk of it slowing down any time soon.

I hope not. I'm optimistic it will carry on for quite a while, having 360 games (which also go on the Xbone with improvements) is quite the advantage over PS+, MS realise this. Hoping it carries on for quite a few years yet - especially as time goes on and it becomes less likely people will still have their PS3s connected up.
